Coffee βΈ Coffee is a bit of a crutch for Elliot. Even though he has trouble sleeping, he still finds himself exhausted at the end of the day. It only makes sense that if Elli isn't going to sleep, he's going to need a little energy to handle it.
People βΈ Elliot is naturally fascinated be people. He'll pick any cafe with a window, only to sit and people-watch.
Psychology βΈ Elliot studied psychology for a year. He enjoyed learning about the mind, and figured it would contribute to his training in one way or another.
Being Read To βΈ He enjoys being read to when the occasion presents itself. Elliot's mother would read to him frequently when he was a child.
Chess βΈ Elliot enjoys games that involve strategy, and he has a very good reputation for winning.
Sleeping βΈ Being able to sleep is a gift in and of itself. The feeling of being able to fall asleep is too valuable for him to pass up, which often leads him to falling asleep on trains and at coffee shops.
Smoking βΈ A habit he has no desire of breaking.
β¦ Dislikes β¦
Demons βΈ It's only natural. Being around something you despise makes things worse. Elliot hates the way they treat Jacob and himself, the way the condescend. He often wonders how Jacob feels about it.
Romance Movies βΈ Elli disagrees with the portrayal of romance in the media. If it's pristine and perfect he's uninterested.
Reading βΈ Elliot doesn't have the attention span to sit still and stare at a book for hours on end. He might be a little ADD.
Math βΈ Elli was never a numbers guys. A lot of the time simple multiplication gets him wound up. That's what cellphone calculator are for.
Violence βΈ Elliot does not have the stomach for violence, due to the fights he got into when he was younger.
β¦ Personalityβ¦
Elliot loves the sound of his own voice. With his obnoxious behavior and vulgar sense of humor, he also enjoys the reactions he gets when reminds a stranger just how many layers of cotton happen to be between their genitals. Elliot's mind and voice become incredibly vital to his survival. In a lot of ways, psychology is necessary, manipulation is necessary, and mind games are necessary. His charisma knows no limit, and overall, he is just genuine enough to be believable. β§ Elliot looks for practicality in others. He looks for a sort of "grounding" in others that he isn't capable of. He weeds out flighty people by making absurd choices in public. If Elliot is testing someone, he won't question them, he'll just stand extremely close to them in an otherwise empty elevator and mirror their body language. β§ East going and charming, Elliot can appear collected at all times, however, his energy feels erratic and unpredictable. Insomnia plays a large role in his emotional state. The longer he goes with out sleep, the more likely he is to snap at any moment. He feels like a volcano ready to erupt. Like there's a curse trapped inside his body that can only escape through the frame of a bed. Elliot has read that you can't exactly die from sleep deprivation, but believes that it will probably be the death of him. That is, when he starts to fall asleep in accidental places, or pass out while crossing the street... β§ As a result of his insomnia, Elliot dreams rarely. Ten or twelve times a year he can recall, but this also might be because he can't remember any. After a while, the melatonin he keeps with him becomes more of a keep sake, and his bed a lucky charm. He begins to view his fate as a skewed reality. Uninterested in the possibility of his powers, he loses sight of the same goals his brother has. He can see the ending before the beginning, and it leaves him feeling empty.

β¦ Biography β¦
Elliot and his brother, Jacob, grew up in what appeared to be a wealthy household. They were often viewed differently by their peers because of it. This was what Elliot thought. Students of all ages would spread rumors about Elliot & Jacob's mother. Ideas on how the Crowley's earned their comfortable-living were carelessly thrown around. Did the Crowley's run a cartel? A ring of thieves? Perhaps Mrs. Crowley murdered her husband!
Elliot took the brunt of these rumors. He loathed them. He felt the need to pick a fight every chance he got, until one day Elliot had gone too far. As freshmen, a boy named Evan Dartmouth had accused Elliot of theft. He hadn't stolen anything, however, he couldn't let such an accusation go. Even if he wanted to, Evan would have made him pay for it regardless.
Elliot encouraged the developing fight, antagonized Evan, and eventually was relentlessly beaten. Slammed onto the cement and repeatedly kicked, he was trapped on the ground. There was something in that moment that changed Elliot. He did not want to fight anymore. It was a miracle his brother stepped in. Elliot was one strike away from brain damage, but after that he kind of resented his brother for getting involved. It was his fight and he was "learning to live with his decisions." Maybe he wanted to be beaten.
Elliot did not live in a wealthy household. He didn't think so. He lived with demons, and by default that made him feel as if he was the lowest of the low. Training began and Elliot was uninterested. He wanted nothing to do with their destiny. He began acting out again. Teachers called home several times to speak with Missus or Mister Crowley about the reoccurring immaturity displayed by young Elliot I. Crowley. How's his home life? These calls were always dismissed.
When Elliot and Jacob's fifteenth birthday came around, suddenly their mother, Arlene, was more present. She began asserting herself back into Elliot's life. Elliot noticed over time that while Jacob received more attention for his work ethic, Elliot began to receive more attention from their mother. At first, Elliot resisted. She had been absent for so much of the their real lives, she became more of a background character. Now she wanted in? she was manipulative, and pragmatic, but sooner or later, Elliot enjoyed her company. She read to him, and spoke with him about important subjects in life; such as having faith in others, and standing up for yourself in more ways than the physical. Elli began to realize she wasn't the monster he made her out to be. She was a demon, but she was also a mom. It became obvious Jacob was more committed to the training, and so their mother took action. Arlene began to teach Elli herself. She was a member of the Cogitatio clan, and was certain Elliot would be too.
