Makayla laughed, more so out of surprise than anything else, at the bluntness of Brooklyn's comment, when she claimed that she hoped Cara was the one knocking so she could hurt her. Before Brooklyn got her a job at the strip club, Makayla had been fairly oblivious to how much Brooklyn drank. Considering that they hadn't lived together at that point, it wasn't all that surprising anyway, since they didn't hang out either, so there was really no way that Makayla would have found out. However, on the nights that they worked together it quickly became clear that Brooklyn drank - and drank a lot - but was really good at holding her liquor. Makayla had never seen her get sloppy drunk, where her speech was slurred or she was falling over, which still shocked her when she actually watched how much hard liquor the blonde would pour into her glass again and again. Now that they lived together and Makayla was becoming more accustomed to Brooklyn's personality when she was sober, and then the one when she was drunk, it was easier to find that there were differences between the sober and drunk Brooklyn, but still, they weren't anything extreme. If anything, that was admirable though, because the alcohol seemed to make Brooklyn looser and more approachable without any of the less admirable effects. It was possible that tonight, her buzz too, made Brooklyn seem more easy going and enjoyable to be around, but regardless of the reason behind it, Makayla was actually in a better mood after hanging out with her, than she had been an hour ago.

Only a few seconds after Brooklyn got up to see who was at the door, she was back with Roman right behind her. Makayla waved hello to him when he greeted her, and though she noticed the two gift bags in his hands, she didn't think anything of it until he came over and slid them to her. Given that she really barely knew Roman, it made sense that she wouldn't think that they were for her. Like Brooklyn, she was confused about why he was the one delivering Cara's gifts to her and while Brooklyn's comment made her raise an eyebrow in confused curiosity, she held herself back from laughing. Although she could sense in Brooklyn's tone that she was joking, or at least purposely being offensive, she didn't know Roman well enough to laugh at it, in case the drug reference was true. She doubted it was, especially since Brooklyn was bringing it up in such an insensitive manner, but again, she didn't know him well enough to say so either way. She wanted to know why Cara couldn't have just brought them here herself, or left them here before she left, or given them when she got back, but it seemed useless to repeat Brooklyn's quesiton, so while she waited for Roman's response, she addressed Brooklyn's comment. "I'm sure they're both for Holly. I don't know why she would get me anything," she insisted. It did seem strange for Cara to get her anything, when she was already doing more than enough for both of the girls, and while Makayla was curious to see what Cara had gotten her sister, she didn't want to look through the bags right there, in front of Brooklyn and Roman. "Thanks for bringing them over but yeah, how'd you get stuck with that job? I thought she was on the other side of town at her dad's or something."
