"Tension Max! Let's go!!!"
Ring...ring...
A soft snoring resounded throughout the entire cabin. By the sleeping figure's side was a hulking mass of steel with four legs, silent but awake.
Ring...! Ring...!
The ringing and vibrating of a small device at the figure's side slowly grew in volume. The Steel/Psychic Pokemon known only as Metagross slowly shifted and fixated its gaze on the ringing device. Slowly, it glowed blue. Then it levitated closer to the figure's ear...and--
RING! RING!!
"God, shut up!" The figure awoke with a jolt, banging her head on the wall and groaned loudly as she did, rubbing at the sore spot. She snatched the levitating phone away from her Metagross- who seemed unfazed by her outburst- and answered the call. "Ugh...hello...?" "Nanami Sadamatsu! What took you so long to answer?!"
Nanami blinked the sleep out of her eyes and her irritation quickly washed away. "Oh, hi, Magenta-chan! Miss me yet?" She teased, a cat-like grin making it onto her face. She heard a hmph on the other side of the line, and chuckled. "Well, things have been a lot quieter ever since you left...though yes, it's just strange to not have someone cracking pick-up lines into your ears every moment she gets." Nanami held back a chuckle as Carrots stared on at her, and she absentmindedly bonked him on the head- causing a wave of pain to shoot up her fist. She gritted her teeth a bit but forced a smile. "In any case, are you there yet?" "Nope, but I think I'm getting close. Hold on." Turning away from the phone, she looked to Carrots. "Wake up Ayato and tell him to check if we're close, please?" The Metagross shuffled away, bonking a sleeping Feraligatr in the corner of the room.
A yelp, an angry thump of the tail, then Ayato shuffled outside. "So, Magenta-chan, what's this island all about anyway?" Another huff. "You were invited and you didn't bother looking into it?" "All I noticed was the word vacation and it was the only thing I needed to remember about it." "Supposedly, only the best and the most prestigious of Trainers and a few others were invited." "Why didn't you get one? We could have gone here together, get married, live a fulfilling life--" "W-What?! G-Get your mind out of the gutter, Nanami! I'm a fashion designer first and a Trainer second, that's why I'm not there. You don't see Kirigaya being given an invitation either, right?"
"Hey, I was her mentor! She's doing fine!" Nanami pouted a bit. "I doubt she would have gone though. Everyone knows she's a recluse." Ayato shuffled back inside, crawling in on all fours as he looked out the window of their cabin. Ayato's tail thumped happily as he looked out at the blue sea. "We're close, Magenta-chan. We're about to get off soon, so I'll call you later, 'kay?" "Sure. I'll be waiting for your call." As Magenta spoke her last words before hanging up, her voice took on a sincere tone that left Nanami's heart hammering in her chest. Not only from the possibility of Magenta's reciprocating her feelings, but the fact that they were finally here. She smiled, returning Carrots and patting Ayato's back. "Does the sea remind you of home, boy?" Ayato let out a happy growl as he looked to her with a bright grin.
Nanami looked out and saw a green figure riding through in the sky. Squinting, she grinned brightly. "Ayato, look! A shiny Dragonite in the sky!" Ayato let out a confused growl, and she glanced at him briefly. "You know, like Sorata? But green? Ah, you dumb little chomper, you wouldn't get it." She chuckled and tapped him on the snout, moving to grab her bags. "Carry some of the stuff for me, will you? We're getting off soon."
The morning breeze kissed at the Dual Champion's cheeks as she got off, Ayato following behind her. The Feraligatr didn't have much struggle in carrying the heavy bags, nor did the Trainer seem to have any qualms. She may have packed way too much, but this was a vacation- she had to make the most out of it. Ayato sniffed the air, and grumbled a bit at her. "What is it, boy? Do you smell anything?" Ayato thumped at the ground with his tail, tracing something with the tip. "Other Pokemon? Then the others must be already here!" She jogged a bit in place, grinning at her Feraligatr. "Let's head on over! Last one to reach there gets his dinner cut!" Ayato let out a loud roar, slinging the bags onto his back as he dashed on all fours to keep up with his Trainer.
Nanami wasn't her old school's track star for nothing- in only a few minutes, she had already reached the mansion. "That took longer than it should have...these bags must be weighing us down, pal!" She smiled as Ayato finally caught up, huffing at his loss. She looked up- three people were already at the mansion. A blue-haired man with sunglasses and a brown-haired girl, and a black-haired boy with an Alakazam. Nanami thought for a bit- did he look familiar, or what? She shrugged- probably someone she passed on the street or something. Nothing important. But if he was here, then it meant that he was probably a good Trainer too.
"No one answering the door yet?" She approached with a friendly wave and a little grin, Ayato following at her heels with the bags still on his back. Now to hope that these people were friendly.
