Keiko Haruna
"A vacation huh?"

"Keiko Haruna,

So I've gotten wind of something along the lines of a vacation. Islands, beaches, meadows and all that stuff. Unfortunately, I can't go. I still have some loose ends to tie up after that--incident. Can't really afford to take a break right now. You go in my stead. Being holed up in one spot for too long won't do your perspective any good.

My Pokemon seem to be fine with it...save for one. She was looking forward to it. This one seems to be big softie for blue seas and tropical weather. Take her along for me. The air would do her good too.

Well, see you around Kei. Hope you like the present.

Reika."

"Perspective huh?" Keiko replayed the message she received as she waited for the ferry to roll in the docks. Outside, the waves gently lapped on the metal sides, creating a slightly hypnotic motion for the people inside. Kei could see it in their eyes. Tired, almost expressionless looks. Exactly what one can expect from a cargo ship. As kind as Reika was to send Keiko the invites and directions, she didn't leave any ship fare. Luckily, Kei still had some money left in the bank and she hadn't touched her summer bonus. She can afford a vacation...but money's still going to be tight. On the positive side, the ship was faster than some of the luxury ferries heading into the island.

Sighing, Kei walked away from the deck and back into the cabin. The island was looming into view so it shouldn't take too long for them to get there. In her pocket was a Premier Ball containing the Pokemon Reika loaned to her. She has to remember to take good care of her while on the island, maybe take her out for a few spins. In the meantime, the boat slowed down a little. They were docking. Time to alight.

"Alright, let's go." Kei grunted as she followed the throng of people walking out of the creaky old ship. From what the invitation read, they were supposedly staying in a mansion of sorts. "Fancy that huh." Kei breathed in the cool, island air. As much as she wanted to check out the various establishments around town, walking around with a heavy bag isn't exactly her style. So she decided to head on over to the mansion directly. Hopefully, some people should be around already.

Her hunch was right as she strode on over to the front door. Some people have gathered--all of them impressive personalities in their own right. She heard that only the best Trainers are called over to the island but she didn't exactly expect to see at least three Champions. Looking around, she really looked out of place. Not that it was too bothersome anyway.

"No one answering the door yet?" The girl who spoke up was Nanami Sadamatsu, Johto's champion. She heard stories about her during her stay in Unova. "Good Trainer. A little excitable though."

"Hello there." The bored looking guy was their turf's champion, Alex Rhodes. "Well...him, I've heard of."

"Don't go comparing me to someone who lost their title to their first challenger. I held my title for ten years before I decided to retire." And the person acting around as if he was picking a fight was Lock Everett...from Hoenn. "So he really is an asshole...why am I not surprised?"

"If I didn't think that my Pokemon and Sophie needed a vacation, I would leave right now. Being associated with second-rate "elites" like you two will tarnish my name and the legacy I have built."

"Only one's tarnishing anybody's rep here is you, honestly." Keiko sighed. To her, Lock seemed pitiful. She was fully aware that she's not invited per se but whatever. Guy was being a total dick--someone needs to stand up sooner or later. Anyone catches wind of Champions fighting over inflated egos and pride would leave a bad taste and impressions back at their place, especially to the young Trainers looking up to them. Better she takes the heat for it. Besides, she's got the badge. Island's not exactly a place of no extradition.

"Talking big about your achievements in your detached idealistic games aren't impressing anyone. Six feet down below and you're just as much of a nobody as everyone else." Kei shot Lock a rather unimpressed stare, devoid of any emotion...even disgust. Afterwards, she turned to the other people around as well. Sighing, she walked past them a little and rung the bell. "Sorry for barging in on your conversation. It just didn't seem like it. I guess I mistook Hoenn poster boy for a troglodyte making threats."

This was building up to be a very, very relaxing vacation for the Unova local.
