"I'm no second-rate Trainer! I'm the Dual Champ!"
"Hello there I am Sophie Valentine, and this here is Aoi. That one over there that is so focused on the gate Lock Everett." Nanami clenched her jaw to prevent it from dropping- this early and a pretty girl had already shown up! How fortunate! But she had certainly heard of the name Lock Everett somewhere- oh, in Hoenn, from Raito. When Sophie's gaze moved to her, she seemed to realize who the two were. "Oh God, you're Nanami Sadamatsu champion of Both Kanto and Johto. The paper I read called you a late-blooming prodigy, similarly to what they called Lock." Nanami grinned a bit- hey, she was a sucker for praise. "Yeah~ The one and only." Even Ayato put down the bags on his back and rose to his full height to flex his big arms. This moment of pride was short-lived, though, as the man named Lock spoke.
"Don't go comparing me to someone who lost their title to their first challenger. I held my title for ten years before I decided to retire." "What--! I lasted two years the first time around, bud! That's still impressive for a newbie to the title!" Nanami thought, and clenched her jaw again- though this was to prevent her from saying anything offensive. Luckily though, the other girl, Sophie, began to apologize for the Hoenn Champion's words- though it seemed that the man wasn't done berating her and the other guy yet. Though the name Alexander Rhodes really did ring a bell in her head- she just didn't know when she met him exactly.
"If I didn't think that my Pokemon and Sophie needed a vacation, I would leave right now. Being associated with second-rate "elites" like you two will tarnish my name and the legacy I have built." That was it. Nanami was just about ready to snap- this guy, though obviously older than her gave off the impression of an extremely arrogant lizard. His blue hair wasn't going to help her idea of him looking like a rabid Feraligatr either. Before she could speak though, another voice came into the conversation. "Only one's tarnishing anybody's rep here is you, honestly." A girl with dusty white hair came onto the scene, and Nanami frowned a bit- did she see her before? Why were all these people ringing a bell in her head?!
"Talking big about your achievements in your detached idealistic games aren't impressing anyone. Six feet down below and you're just as much of a nobody as everyone else." "Nice, nice, a realistic view on things! She's totally that cold, mysterious type in anime! Definitely!" Nanami tugged her scarf up to contain her grin. At least someone spoke out exactly what she was thinking. Though, she hadn't heard of this girl yet- though she did seem familiar. She released a sigh of relief and glanced around- an aura of hostility had already settled among them. This was building up to a rough start. Before she could say anything to- in any way reset the mood, a rustling in the bushes caught her attention.
It wasn't long until a Lairon burst out- it seemed like an excited Growlithe almost, as it stood up on its hind legs and eyed all the new Pokemon eagerly. Ayato let out a startled yelp, then got down on all fours again to get on eye level as much as he possibly could with the Lairon. At least, until someone rushed out to grab the Lairon. "I'm terribly sorry folks. Clover, get Viv." A girl came out- Nanami presumed that this was the Trainer of the Lairon. "Strong..." She murmured to Ayato. Ayato sat back on his hind legs, tilting his head. "Remember how heavy Akkun's Lairon was before he evolved? He was almost as heavy as you." She pinched at the Feraligatr's nose a bit and glanced at the girl again.
"Doesn't quite realise he's not a lap pokemon any more." Ayato let out a protesting cry the moment he noticed the girl backing up with a potential new Pokemon friend, earning him an elbow to the ribs that he barely felt through his scales. Nanami herself kept quiet- this was an incredibly confusing turn of events and she...kind of wanted to see how all this would turn out.
