Yui was suffocating, the darkness and light, it was overwhelming her. "Come here," a voice whispered. "Help," Yui whimpered, "Come here, this way," it ebbed her on from the darkness. Yui managed to prop herself up on her hands and knees, crawling towards the ever darkening sky. "That's it, just a little bit more," she collapsed on the edge, the darkness dragging her in. "Shh, sleep now, everything will be fine." An overwhelming exhaustion had overcome her, as though Yui had been fighting a very long battle that was finally over. "It's warm," she whispered, her eyes feeling heavy. "It's okay, just let it take you," Yui closed her eyes, drifting off peacefully.
"It was painless," Damian informed Raven. "She went easily," it almost seemed as though they were talking about a dead person. "Should we move her?" Surely Raven didn't intend to keep Yui in the cell that Leo had been killed in? Raven had trudged off though, not answering. Damian stood there in confusion, knowing he couldn't move Yui without Xavier. He went off to find his boy toy, locating him in the hallway and having him move Yui to a different room, one where the walls weren't torn through or splattered in blood. The mattress seemed to have a permanent indentation of where Yui had curled up in it for days on end. Damian's expression softened as he held her, the three of them moving to another room. "Maybe we should give her a bath?" He suggested and Xavier shrugged. "Sure, but won't Raven not like it if we take off her clothes?"
That was true, Raven could walk in at any moment and accuse them of doing something lewd, although both boys weren't interested in girls, much less little ones. "Maybe we should, or at least change her?" Xavier and Damian ended up lifting Yui off of the bed once more, taking her carefully to the bathroom. They had to be careful because of the tubes sticking out of her at every which angle, as well as to take care that her head didn't go underneath the water when they washed her hair. "There, all clean," Damian declared, wrapping Yui in a towel and carrying her back into the room. They rediapered and dressed her, leaving her in bed. If one paid attention, they would have noticed that her ear feathers had turned black.
Yui awoke a few hours later, feeling strange. Her eyes blinked up at the ceiling, glassy red orbs, but unlike the others they weren't dull. No, they were full of life and curiosity, staring around at her surroundings with interest. Where was she? Her hair was wet, her ear feathers dripping. Yui tried to sit up, finding that it was painful to move. She whimpered, her newly darkened mark glowing slightly from underneath her clothes.
