"I should go." Bertoldo felt himself frowning slightly, and he watched on quietly as she turned to the door. To his sudden relief, something seemed to be stopping her as she halted mid-step, hand outstretched but not touching the handle. His head tilted to one side, frown still weighing on his brows. "I... I can't open the door," she told him after a moment. "Iron." Bertoldo hesitated slightly, merely standing there with a confused expression while he took that information in, storing it for later.
Another moment passed, and Bertoldo gave a very gentle sigh, stepping forward. In the process he wiped the remainder of her blood from his chin, before resting his hands on her shoulder. He wouldn't try to turn her just yet, if she was feeling embarrassed then the last thing she might want to do is to look him in the eye. It would take a bit more persuasion, he reckoned.
"Erieda," he spoke in a quiet voice, barely above a whisper, though there was some amusement in his tone, however small. "I didn't mean to upset you... If I did then I offer my sincerest apologies and hope that you would forgive me." He leaned forward slightly and placed a brief kiss atop her head. "I simply meant we shouldn't take it too far, yet... We've known each other for such a short time and it just felt rushed." As he spoke, his hands slid down her arms and before long he was hugging her from behind, placing another kiss against the shoulder he'd been feeding from only a few moments before.
"I'll admit that this is a strange and unexpected turn of events, and it's certainly not something our people would approve of, but for all the consequences that might come from this, I'm not prepared to give you up just yet," he continued, lifting his head just a little. "My sweet, I want you to stay with me for just a little while longer... If we're to do this, I want it to mean something, you know?" There came a short moment of silence, before he donned a more serious tone suddenly, mixed with what could possibly have been worry. "Look at me, Erieda. Look me in the eye and tell me you don't want that too... Just say the words... and I'll back off."
