|| Stand By Me|| Florence and the Machine ||
Miiko played with a loose thread on her skirt, feeling anxious. "I hate elevators," she muttered while Fox slid the access card through the reader. The doors opened and Miiko pressed the last button on the lowest floor. She felt her breath hitch in her throat, it was strange to think that she was inside of a jail when most other islands out ruled jails and instead used red boats. Capitol City was different, why did they keep its most dangerous criminals on its shores instead of expelling them from the land where they could never hurt anyone again? "I don't understand the Republic," Miiko scratched at the scarf she had wrapped around her head. She didn't understand why Havran didn't bother covering herself, perhaps because she was part of the Red Fleet? Once Havran left it would be hard to find her if she was a pirate.
Of course Miiko was different, she lived on Yavin where the general location was almost known by the Capitol, however they were never able to pin point where exactly it was located thanks to the scramblers that Nino had built to keep them hidden. They were an island in the middle of nowhere and that was how it was meant to be. "How do we know which one Stella is kept in?" The elevator doors had opened, Miiko looked around, glancing at the names on the doors. They weren't written in any language that Stella could read. "This isn't the Universal Language," she frowned. It was some sort of strange pattern of numbers that spelled words, meant to confuse people who didn't work for the jail. "Can anyone else read this?" Miiko scratched at her head, maybe she was just stupid? Of course their new language didn't account for the fact that numbers could look like letters, it was a very clever system indeed.
"You really don't think she'll be mad? That's a relief," Miiko was worried that Stella would carry anger at Miiko for not being able to save her. Miiko carried at anger at herself. This entire time she had been harboring feelings of intense abhorrence at her uselessness, how she had been unable to do anything but scream and cry while Stella was shot and taken away by the monster called Lise. "I'm sure Stella will be happy that I've had you looking out for me while she was gone," Miiko tittered, excitedly rocking back and forth while she glanced in through every window in search of Stella. "We've checked every room haven't we? Stella isn't in any of them." Were they on the wrong floor? On the wrong side of the jail? Had they moved Stella in anticipation for an attack? How would they have known that they were coming? Unless the traitor had leaked the information to them?
Miiko placed her hand against the wall, thinking to herself. "Where could they have put her?" She leaned against a pillar, feeling tired from the trek and now this adventure. "I would never snitch! What are you trying to say?" Miiko growled at Havran, ready to fight her if needed.
