"I'm sorry, I'm not very good at this," Emma said quietly, hoping that she would be able to help more, but proving to be useless. She wasn't good at practical exams, however, Emma began to notice small inconsistencies in the things that they were writing down. "Hang on a second, the battle that launched the rebellion wasn't in Tiam, it was in Everette Island," Emma knew that because she had been there. Her voice, of course, was very quiet so as not to alert the other teams. "It's a trick question," then Emma found another one of these. "The first light bearer on record after the Calamity is Stella Miya, not Terrance." Emma began to see this event for what it truly was. "This isn't just a scavenger hunt," Emma grinned, glad that she was able to help, even if it was just a little bit. "Ah, this one is a trick too." Emma shook her head, a small smile lighting up her lips. "The students that began the rebellion were Jace Miya and Varus," Athena had joined a little bit later.
Of course these were facts that Irina wouldn't be able to discern due to the fact that she did not belong in this time period. Emma giggled, glad that they were doing so well. She was also slightly upset that they were obscuring history, although Emma wasn't sure what their intentions were by doing so. "Ah, the last question! Look, we're done!" Emma happily skipped back to the classroom where Roz was waiting to check papers. There was a line about three people deep, but Emma beamed, knowing that they probably did not get the trick questions right. She was finally excelling, perhaps this school thing was not as bad as everyone made it out to be? Emma giggled once more, looking up at Irina. "We make a good team, as always." She winked, the line moving up.
The two of them presented their paper to Roz, who narrowed his eyes as he checked the answers. "Where did you copy these answers from?" Emma tilted her head to the side in a most adorable manner, clearly confused. "Copied? No, we knew them!" Emma shook her head, hoping that Roz wouldn't think they cheated. "These are facts that are not publicly publicized," Emma blushed and looked at her feet. "Well Captain Roz, with-with all do respect-" Emma's eyes welled up with tears. "O-our older brother is Sam Harris, he-he told us ab-about all of these things," Roz sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Can't penalize you, but I can penalize Sam. I'll have to have a word with that smug bastard for giving away top secret information." This was puzzling to Emma, top secret? Did that mean that the Republic was attempting to change history?
Emma looked up at Irina in concern, this was something that they were going to have to discuss. "Thank-thank you Sir," Emma gave another awkward salute and followed Irina back out of the classroom, it was now time for dinner. "What do you think that means?" She asked quietly, "why would they lie to all of the other students?" Perhaps to teach them that not everything they read was going to be true. Not to trust the source? Emma couldn't figure this mystery out for the life of her.
