|| Stand By Me|| Florence and the Machine ||
"Hopefully a goodnight's rest will make it better for tomorrow," luckily there was no physical exercise the next day, only classes and what looked like workshops according to the schedule in their bunker, where the girls gathered their belongings to shower. Every outfit they were was a uniform, including their pajamas. For boys it was a white shirt and black pants, for girls a white gown. "Ah, I'm a little self conscious," Emma admitted with a blush, hiding behind Irina when they entered the steamy bathroom. "Don't worry, all the showers are curtained," the attendant informed them, "there will be no peeking," Emma sighed in slight relief, her light bearing mark would be safe for the time being. "Th-thank you," Emma headed to the last stall by the corner, gesturing to Irina to follow and take the one beside her, a bit away from where Lise had chosen her shower. "Change of plan, we'll need to go to Sam's this weekend," Emma wrote on Irina's hand, then stepped into her stall and closed the curtain.
Emma showered and rinsed, carefully keeping her hand inside of the curtain as she used the scrub provided to get the smell off of herself. They each had received a hygiene kit inside of their lockers, one that Emma utilized to its full extent. When she emerged she was wearing her glove and nightgown and had gone to brush her teeth. "Nothing like a shower," Emma smiled when she thought Irina came up to her. She jumped, realizing that it wasn't Irina but another girl. "S-sor- I-I'm sorry!" Emma squealed, blushing horribly. The other girl looked at Emma as though she were slightly crazy, but Emma only ended up backing into another girl and squealed once more, apologizing ten times over. With tears in her eyes she ran to find Irina, perhaps playing the part of Emma a bit too well.
"I-I'm so glad I found you!" Emma threw her arms around Irina, holding her tightly. "L-let's go to bed," she recalled that she had left her toothbrush by the sink so Emma went to retrieve it, glad she had managed to find her friend. By the time they reached the bunker it was nearly 0900 and Roz was stationed outside the door, taking roll call. Emma clambered up the ladder into her bed, wishing that she had brought her bitter rabbit or some reminder of home. "Goodnight," she said quietly, fighting the homesickness. Emma closed her eyes, hoping to fall asleep easily, but soon she found herself awake and listening to the snores of others. It was admittedly, a bit frustrating considering the fact that Emma wanted to sleep.
Somehow, after tossing and turning, Emma found a happy medium. She was still wearing her glove, finding it a source of comfort to know that no one could see her light bearing mark. Hopefully Irina had managed to keep her's covered in the shower and that the two of them were still incognito.
