|| Stand By Me|| Florence and the Machine ||
When Emma awoke at this ungodly hour of dawn, her hair was a mess, sticking up with a cowlick in every angle one could imagine. "Morning," Emma whispered, rubbing her eyes tiredly. The day consisted of intense training, uniform sizing, battle tactics, learning how to interrogate someone and at long last, dinner. "I'm pooped," Emma sighed, leaning against the table. She had been extra careful today to not give anything away and not correct Captain Roz when she believed him to be wrong about a fact or two in history. It was rather irksome that they made out the rebels to be some sort of uncaring monsters with a martyr complex. "I'm so sore, I don't think I can do gym again tomorrow," but the day was not over yet. Just when they expected to have shower time, the Conductors burst into the dining hall, barring them all from leaving.
"We are about to have our first Group tournament!" Conductor Roz grinned, placing his hands on his hips. Most of the cadets cheered, however those in Group B were left out of the ring and therefore had no idea what the cadets were cheering about. "IN half an hour, all groups will report to their Conductors for further instructions. In the meantime, however, tonight's game will be...." there was a drum roll during the pause. "Capture the flag!" Capture the flag? What was that? Emma turned curiously as they explained the game. "We will be pitching the four Group's against one another. Each time will receive a flag that they must hide and guard, with a safe circle for the other team to step into once in enemy territory. If you get caught by the enemy you are taken to jail, if you are in jail, you cannot leave until someone from your team comes to save you, or a Jailbreak is announced. Jailbreaks only happen twice in the game."
"We will play over a span of one hour. At the end of the hour, the Group with the most flags will be announced the winner. Please enjoy the rest of the meal, we look forward to conducting this test." Emma turned towards Lise and Irina, her stomach bubbling with both nerves and excitement. "Have you ever played this before?" She asked both girls, finishing up her slice of cake easily. They were having their first physical exam at the end of the month, where they would be evaluated to see if they had gained, lost, or grown in any way, shape, or form. Emma was eager to know whether she had lost some weight, she had been staying away from cake, but had decided to treat herself after a hard day at class. "This sounds like it'll be so much fun!" Emma giggled, chugging her water so that she was hydrated enough.
"Whoa, slow down there, there's still half an hour until we need to report to the classroom." Together as a class they would decide where to hide their flag and would get a bit of extra time since they were new to the Group Games. "The Group Games have tiers, the winners receive prizes and those who did exceptional jobs are rewarded." Lise explained to them, "I usually win something or other, it's not a big deal."
