Being shot wasn't exactly pleasant, but Irina was no stranger to death. She had died before - technically twice before, if you wanted to be specific. But disregarding that, it still hurt awfully just like every other time, the bullet to the chest, she could feel the blood coming up, and all her mind could think of was that this simulation was very realistic. She coughed and wheezed on the ground, struggling to get back up but unable to. Then Emma came at last while Lise was playing distraction, the battle was over. "I'm... fine." She said, spitting out the blood to the side so it didn't dirty Emma. "Are you... okay?" She asked gently, but before she got an answer Emma vanished once again winked out of existence. Lise stared back, eyes narrowing. "What the hell, this never happ-"
Then suddenly everything was black, and then reality returned. Irina coughed, rubbing her chest where she had been shot in wonder. Why was it over, wasn't there still more left to the battle? "Are you alright?" Cyrus asked, dashing over to her in an instant. "You got to feel death, that's - did it hurt?" Irina shook her head, she didn't care about that right now. "Emma, something weird happened." Lise looked pale and she pointed over to bed Twenty-Two. Everyone else had woken up, but Emma... was still just lying there, as if she was still in the simulation. Irina felt sick - something was wrong. If Emma was asleep, how was she able to exist? She shouldn't, if Emma was just sleeping she would have vanished then and there, unless... "Professor Pablo!" Irina shouted, no longer caring about rank or beck and call.
"She's still in the simulation!" That was the best conclusion she could come up with. Maybe it was a mistake to reveal this card so early, but she needed to, it was an emergency. Anyone suspicious of her would find this as more proof that she was a Spirit, but Miiko's well being mattered most right now, more than the mission. "Are you positive?" Pablo asked, his usual flounciness all but gone. Irina nodded, gritting her teeth. "Otherwise she would have waken up, turn it back on, put me back in, I'll break her out! Pablo sighed, and then he put down his pen. "It doesn't work like that... this might be... no, I need to do this.
Undoubtedly, class was dismissed. Irina was able to get permission to give Emma the bitter rabbit consisting of her rose, just in case something went wrong. Conductor Roz allowed it, a rare moment of mercy from the usually strict man. Meanwhile Pablo was in his office, alone, contacting Nino through the channel. It was he after all who helped her escape. After the battle of Everett Island, Pablo knew Nino wasn't going to find happiness here, she needed to get away from Capitol City. So as a friend, he gave her a way out - as well as a private channel so that they could communicate just in case there was an emergency. "Nino, I know you're there. Answer me, we have an emergency, it's about the SimulCrum." His lavender hair flopped as sweat ran down his brow. "One of our cadets might be in danger, I'll send you all the information you need. Let's work together, because you still owe me one favor."
