"I'll do it if it comes down to it," Nino replied with a nod. In the real world Emma was being swarmed by medics, they needed to keep her hydrated, they needed to monitor her for change, all while maintaining the delicate balance of the SimulCrum devices so that they didn't accidentally disconnect her and jolt the virus into 100%. "Don't worry, I'm not going to let this happen," Nino said, her voice ever so calm.
Ten percent, it was growing late and Emma was tired. Every time she drifted off she received a jolt of electricity to her spine. "Please, just let me sleep," Emma whimpered. "No," the robot replied. "I'm hungry," Emma said, "then think of other things," was the robot's response. "I'm bored," her head was whipped back, a wire began snaking up her nose. She coughed and retched, however nothing came up. "Stop-stop! I take it back," she could feel the wire move deeper, evoking a scream. "I was created to interrogate and torture your kind," Emma whimpered, "I can sense what you are, light bearer." She stiffened, hoping that this was no longer being streamed. "You're wrong," panic ensued. If they removed her glove in the real world they would see the light bearing mark.
If someone recognized the mark as Miiko's, her cover would be blown. "Am I child of light?" Her glove was torn in half, revealing the cat in its prissy little crown with a rose. "If you do not cooperate I will tell the humans about what you are," Emma had no choice but to stay quiet now. Her arms ached, her legs were sore, but there was no escaping. She hated the sensation of wires crawling up and down her body, of connecting to every nerve and fiber, a sense of violation so disgusting it made Emma shiver. "Why Ronan?" Emma asked at last, "why did they pick that name?" Ronan had been staring at the blinking lights for who knows how long. If Emma closed her eyes, she could see a great big 10% behind her lids.
"You are familiar with Ira Shoku I am sure," Emma nodded, you had to live underneath a rock if you didn't know who the tyrant Ira Shoku was. "Ronan was his first soldier, his ultimate weapon." The android flexed his fingers, or at least that's what Emma thought he was doing. "Someone is attempting to break in," he stuck his fingers into nodes in the wall, numbers scrolling across his eyes a he reinforced the protection on the strange place. Emma of course didn't understand what was keeping Irina from her, if the matter was killing off one stupid android, then wouldn't Irina have hunted him down and ended him? "Your thoughts are very loud child, your friends will not come for you here, they cannot touch my defenses." There were only two people who could and currently they were working together to break the code.
The android would not let it be broken, he would have his terms be met, or he would sacrifice the child. "You won't tell them will you? If you tell them, they'll kill me themselves," the android considered this. "No, I will not reveal this information," he decided, "so long as I receive what I want."
