|| Stand By Me|| Florence and the Machine ||
Emma slept through the transport to the Capitol City hospital, after the submarine there was an ambulance ride and then a visit to the ER, where she was checked up and given a clean bill of health. Sam was waiting there anxiously, sitting beside Irina and thumping his foot against the floor. They went around Emma's glove, perhaps believing it to be some sort of injury that she wore it for and not wanting to cause the sleeping girl pain. He carried Emma back to the car, the poor girl still asleep. "I think it's just trauma, she should wake up soon," the Doctor had said. "There was no physical damage, but being held hostage will always leave some sort of impact on the mind." Luckily Emma did not seem to be suffering from nightmares, but merely sleeping peacefully.
When Emma at last awoke she was laying on the couch in Sam's house, surrounded by the people she cared about and Aria. "Where?" Emma asked, Irina answering without hesitating. She sighed and rest her head on Irina's lap, glad that she could let her guard down. "I remember... he said something like that right before we left," Emma coughed, Sam ran to get her some water, returning with a tall refreshing glass. Emma sat up, the blanket falling off from around her shoulders as she gulped the water down greedily, liquid dribbling down her chin as a result. "Thanks," she set the glass down on the table, ignoring the shouting that was coming from the other room since she could not understand what was being said. "Ignore them, she's on that thing day and night," Sam mumbled and informed them of the news the of the trip.
"Show us! Show us!" Emma shouted greedily, sitting herself down on Irina's lap. "I don't think it's all that strong, I'm not sure what it is." Sam shut his eyes and concentrated, his appearance changing. "Wow, go look in the mirror! Isn't that cool Iri?" She inquired, looking at Sam's now blue hair and red eyes. Sam caught sight of himself and started, returning to his normal appearance. Emma had never seen the Prince frightened before, it was interesting to observe him. "So when do we leave?" She asked, looking between the girl she considered her older sister and the boy that had unintentionally become their caretaker. "Tomorrow, I'm going to prepare dinner now, no doubt you two are hungry," Emma had slept the entire day away after the scare yesterday. They had returned to Sam's abode in the early twilight hours and now it was almost bedtime once more.
"Aria, time to hang up!" Sam called, entering the kitchen to prepare dinner. "What happened?" Emma asked, getting off of Irina's lap to face her. "While I was in there I mean, I'll explain what happened inside once you tell me what was going on outside." Emma listened, hugging the bitter rabbit toy that Irina had so cleverly remembered to bring along.
