The Red Fleet had come yesterday and now a debate was going on in Jace and Athena's home about a great many things. Varus on one side, Jace on the other - for men who used to be as close as brothers, this certainly wasn't anything out of the ordinary now. The two were so radically different, of course they would get into fights like this. Fighting over the disappearance of Jellyfish and Daisy, fighting over the radical decision to bomb the Military Academy and become no better than a common terrorist, there were lots of points of contention. Essie was glad to not be involved, she didn't feel like being interrogated or anything. If they knew her role in the plot, hers and Stella's, it would certainly be unpleasant. As it was, she and Stella met up with Yui, the three of them on a mission.
Not a mission of any importance relating to the cause or anything, but a personal one for Stella's sake. "I used to live in this city before the Calamity." Essie said quietly, going over the memories. Callum had tried to approach her a few times, but what was once love was no longer there. How could it be, after so long, one hundred years in purgatory? The Star's fleeting feelings for him had faded away, he was nothing more than a fellow rebel, a fellow Spirit now. "I think it looks nicer like this, with all the water." She didn't blame Yui for wrecking the awful world that punished children just because they read banned material, not one bit. She kept her eyes peeled, not really sure what to look for. "Just be careful from now on, don't get yourself hurt, Yui, okay?"
Once Essie was radiant, able to shine brightly, but now she was a dulled star, hardened by what an abrupt ending her life had had. Callum escaped to Europe, promising to be back to save her, and then that little parasite Prisca was the one to sell everyone out in the first place. In her opinion, both of them had been in the wrong. Her whole body tensed when Yui touched the diamond, Essie was quick to summon one star to block Stella and Yui, just in case of any rebound. It was her job as a Spirit to protect her Caster, after all. "Duly noted, Stella." She desummoned the star and fell back into step with Stella and Yui. She wanted to discuss what Daisy and Jellyfish told them the night of the disappearance, but they couldn't go into it, not here with Yui.
Even now she wasn't sure if that had been the smartest idea. As someone native to Enrya, Jellyfish might have been useful to keep around for the upcoming meeting with the Enryan Militants, who contacted Jace not too long ago, seeking a plan to liberate the island from Republic occupation. "Oh, could that be it?" She summoned a star and stood on it rather than summon a second to make the rainbow beam, flying up to retrieve a small box from under a bed that looked like it could contain a journal. It was locked of course, by a latch that needed a key. "I can't open, but there's something inside."
