When he woke up, he could tell someone was sitting on the end of his bed, softly touching his leg. Vadik didn't open his eyes, half expecting to be back in the cave with some mermaid or centaur stroking his leg. When he did, however, he saw it was one of the girls who dressed him. She smiled seeing him awake. "Master Nadir, I see you are a sound sleeper." Vadik did not answer, staring at the girl with a weird face. "My name is Rowen, his Majesty assigned me to you, as a personal servant," The woman said with a small smile. Vadik slowly raised his eyebrow. "Caspian wants you to be my secretary?" The woman, Rowen, looked confused at this, Vadik only just remembering where he was. "That's a thing from back where I'm from, sorry... So you're here too...?" Vadik sat up, pulling his leg out from under Rowen's hand. "Whatever you want, my lord. Bathing, grooming, fetching you food or drink. I am your to command," Rowen smiled again, looking almost like a goddess with her beauty.
Vadik stared at her for a second before asking "Where do you come from?" Rowen looked taken aback by the question, furrowing her eyebrows. "I am from Galma. It is a island off the beach where Cair Paravel is," She obediently answered. "And how did you come to be here?" Vadik asked, tilting his head. "My family left Galma when I was a teenager. We moved into King Caspian's kingdom, my father becoming a very trusted councilor for the king. When the castle was attacked, everyone fled, and so now we are here. I wanted to be useful, so I told King Caspian to put me wherever he needed me." Vadik nodded once and a while as he listened to the story. "And where is your father? Does he know you're being... Put under my command?" Rowen's eyes instantly started to water. Vadik regretted his question at once. "My father died when the castle was taken over. Many people hate King Caspian and his court for being such magic lovers..." Rowen started to cry, looking away to hide her face. Vadik sat awkwardly for a second before shuffling over, hugging Rowen. She jumped slightly, looking up at Vadik very surprised, like she expected him to do nothing. "I know how it feels to lose the ones you love, and all I can tell you is that the wound will always be there, but it will get better." Rowen cried for a while, Vadik not moving away until the tears reduced to sniffling. "There we go," Vadik smiled, wiping away a tear, "All better now." Rowen gave him a small smile, mumbling her thanks.
"Rowen! Hurry up and wake him! Breakfast is almost-" The second girl who had bathed Vadik had come in, but stopped upon seeing the two hugging. Her jaw dropped, and her eyes went wide looking between the two. "No, no, no, no, it's not what it looks like," Vadik said, leaping off of the bed, but the girl was already gone. Rowen jumped up too, chasing after the girl yelling a inaudible name. Vadik stood there dumbfounded before gathering himself up and getting dressed. He continued to wear Rhindon, but left the bow leaning against his bed. Walking out into the beautiful clearing, Vadik went back to the 'mess hall', sitting next to the very happy Caspian once again. "I hope you like Rowen, my boy, she's very loyal and will serve you well!" Vadik silently nodded, grabbing some sausage from a platter that was being passed around. "After breakfast, you will be taught how to actually use that sword of yours, and the bow. Speaking of which, Susan never got around to naming it, like Peter named his sword. Sense it is now yours, what would you like to call it?" Vadik thought for a long while before saying, "Arwen. I shall call it Arwen."
