Valerie Alastair
faerie - #dc143c
Sensing someone at her side, the faerie instinctively tensed up. It was a habit that Valerie still had to break, even after being here in Bellingstone for several years now and having no true reason to worry about anyone approaching being a threat of any sorts. Her shaded eyes turned to the figure and her body relaxed upon seeing the familiar face, her shoulders falling back so that her straight pose was no longer compromised.

Now pleasantly surprised by who saw so early in the morning, the faerie flashed a smile at the vampire. Had her eyes not been hidden behind the glasses, it would have been easy to see the small glow that appeared in them. Her facial expression lightened up more at the brief compliment -faeries had their natural vanity after all and, at this point in her life, Valerie was not spared from that attribute, even if it was from a friend like Ben- and a small laugh left her lips. The sound was said to remind some people of birds chirping early in the morning, and while that wouldn't be very odd considering that she was an earth faerie, Valerie could never say she heard the similarities.

"Good morning, darling," Valerie said, her voice warm and her tone mixed with a hint of playfulness-- a tone very common to her quotidian speech. Benjamin, never a sore to the eyes, always managed to look dapper and today, his business casual attire hadn't missed the mark either.

At the question of Albrecht, Valerie couldn't help but lift her sunglasses so that she could rub the bridge of her nose for a moment with her free hand. "I heard that he's back. The newspaper wants me to write a story about it. Which is fine, but you know I have to be out to get stories and how that can get me," she said, sighing lightly. "One thing I'm sure of is that Albrecht ready to be in the spotlight again."

Valerie wasn't sure how widespread the information about Albrecht and the race was. She had gotten a heads up almost immediately after the werewolf signed up as a candidate for the mayor's office and she was sure that at least some other people had to have found out by now. At least those close to the supernatural circle, which didn't worry her since she could still find a story. Plus Dre and Poppy for sure. She would have to swing by and see how they were doing.

Valerie came to a sudden stop when, on the other side of the street, she saw the person at the center of their conversation. "Speaking of the devil," she said, the common phrase slipping out of her lips, "There he is."

Her jaw tightened when she saw Poppy with the man, looking slightly shaken. She wasn't extremely close with the female of the Clarke family, but she was still friendly with the girl who was a frequent city friend. For a moment, Valerie was tempted to approach Albrecht but she didn't want to disrupt the conversation; if she was more naturally brazen, Valerie would have gone without hesitation. The faerie turned to Ben. "I was on my way to the diner to get some tea, and I would rather not go fishing for information without my morning drink. Would you like to join me?"

Plus, maybe Axel could tell her something. Valerie knew the story and again, she would not be so brazen as to approach the female werewolf so soon.
