Kel woke up to Dribbles licking his face. Dribbles was the name he had chosen for his new baby water dragon.
"Hey there Dribbles, you know you're not going to be able to stay inside all the time, let's take you outside. Cire will keep you busy and protect you from predators." He smiled at the cute baby as he got dressed. He took him downstairs and opened the back door where Cire was waiting for them.
"So according to that book, you like to eat fish and you love to swim. There's a lake down there where you can take care of both those needs." He said as if he was actually listening. "It also said that you will need your own space and plenty of room to play. Well there's plenty of that and lots of love for ya too. I'll keep a big bowl of water for you here by the house too." He filled a large metal wash tub with water and added the powder that Ofelia had given him. "Okay you two go play, I'll check up on you later."
He looked over at Ofelia's ranch to see some of the other hatchlings that had hatched yesterday and saw Zero was still there. "She must have let him stay the night, she's such a sweet girl." he thought to himself. He couldn't help but feel sorry for the guy, having amnesia like that must be hard to deal with. He wished he could do something to help bring his memory back.
"Hey, Zero, you want some company?" He called out to him as he waved from the property line.
