Hau was about a walk towards the pantry door when he saw it open on it's own accord...and very slowly for that matter. The trainer could tell in the fluidity of movement that whatever was in there was being just as cautious about confrontation as he was right now. That, at least, was relatable.

And when the Pokemon poked his head out through the small opening it created, Hau recognized it immediately and knew that it could've easily attacked upon discovery. Garchomps typically had no qualms about it. This one did and that immediately showcased how docile it really was. Not only that, but Hau could read the uncertainty and the anxiety in it's eyes, but also the familiarity. Rather than responding to the fight or flight instinct, it was smartly approaching slow, taking in the boy in the process and making his own judgement.

This one has a trainer...Hau realized.

The easygoing trainer took a couple steps back, allowing for the Garchomp to leave the pantry and stand in front of him. But no longer was he tensed. No longer was he apprehensive. He let his shoulders relax, a warmer smile appearing on his face as he encouraged him, "It's okay. I'm not gonna hurt you. See?"

He held his hands up, showing there was nothing in them. At this point, the Garchomp was completely outside of the pantry.

"Everything good in there?" Hau heard Kukui call from the other room.

"Yeah," Hau answered back, "He seems friendly."

"Well Hala went out to greet a couple other trainers. I'm in here if you need me."

"Alright," Hau turned back to the Garchomp, "You're not a wild Garchomp, are you?" The question sounded more like a statement, as if he was guessing the Pokemon in front of him wasn't a wilding and not asking him.

That green flame you saw last night belonged to a hostile creature called Demonbreath, a massive Dragonite that used to terrorize Akala Island. The weird thing is that we were under the impression that it had been slain some time ago, the bones resting on Ula'ula Island. I haven't checked in with Kahuna Nanu to make sure they're still there. He is a hard person to get a hold of."

"As for going after the beast, we think someone may already have," his eyes took on a more serious and sadder tone, "Were you both familiar with the Alolan Champion Lukas?"
