Marlene quietly licked her lips at the sight of the ship refusing to surrender, but she was confident in the capabilities of her own vessel.

She reached down to a set of controls near her chair, before she strapped herself in, and was planning to take the 900 meter stealth corvette on quite the ride.

“Attention Crew of the Scylla, secure the ship and strap yourselves in; we’re going for a little ride, all hands action stations!” Marlene called out on the intercom, before diverting power from the ventral weapons batteries to the G-diffuser, and the inertial dampeners.

At that moment the ship peeled off, and Marlene grinned. “Playing hard to get, are we?” She said to herself, before she threw the control stick to the side, and the Aschen ship moved swiftly, canting abruptly to the starboard side and accelerating.

“Ready foreward torpedo batteries.” Marlene called out on the intercom. “EM warheads, we’re going to try and shut them down.” She said cooly.

“Boarding action teams, prepare boarding tethers for deployment.”

Boarding tethers were a rather novel invention by the Aschen military, deployable magnetic harpoons that were designed to physically attatch the pursuing ship to the fleeing ship, facilitating boarding actions. A classic approach in Marlene’s mind, but it required precise maneuvering, and the two ships had to get within one hundred meters of eachother.

“Just gotta close the distance...” Marlene said to herself.
