“Whoeever this is, they’re good...” Marlene said quietly through grit teeth, while her left hand moved over to a keypad. “FTL Drives spooled and ready?” She asked out loud.

“Yes ma’am, tactical drives are hot... what are you planning?” The Tactical officer asked with a hint of trepidation creeping into his voice.

“Tell everyone to brace for jump, and impact...” She said, finishing the sequence of numbers for the computer to calculate.

With the coordinates entered, and plotted by the shipboard AI, several warnings lit the main viewscreen, but Marlene didn’t seem to care, she opted to execute the reckless maneuver, one that she hoped would strike fear into the opposing vessel.

Her left hand grasped the lever, and lurched it forward. Energy surged along the length of the ship, and she winked out of existence, only to re-appear a split second later about one thousand feet in front of, and five hundred feet to the starboard side of the larger vessel.

Massive plasma engines flared to life and the Reverence S lunged forward on a collission course with the larger vessel, giving it’s captain a split second to react before the nose of the Reverence S plunged into the side of the Lighthugger, and the concussive shock from the impact would rock both vessels.

If the collision was successful, a dozen magnetic tethers would fire fourth from emplacements lining the ventral, and dorsal structure of the ship, aiming to attatch the two vessels together.

Marlene quietly hoped the crew of either ship were wearing EVA gear, as hull breaches lit up on her display in a shower of flashing red icons.
