|| In the Name of Love || Nightcore ||
Clover was helping clear the table when Harvey Bernard ran in. "She's like a different cat," Belle observed as she picked up a plate, toting it to the kitchen. "I don't know what Cookie did," Marie admired, "but it worked." Clover hummed to herself, the tune she had heard Erika play as the door opened and Rosemary greeted the man. The kitten froze, recognizing him as Maple's owner. What was he doing here? What was going on? She listened to him speak, her stomach feeling as though it had a million fluttering bugs in it. Not butterflies, those were pleasant fluttery bugs. The kitten turned in the opposite direction, bolting up the stairs. She nearly crashed into Eamon, who gave Clover pause.
"Clover will protect Master at all costs," she swore, bounding the rest of the way up the steps. Her wrist still throbbed from the memory of him grabbing it so hard it had bruised. At least he moved out of the way, allowing her to clamber the rest of the way up. "Clover will help find Maple," she didn't care about the little boy, her sister was her top priority. She dove into the closet, retrieving a new prototype of her super suit since the last one had been torn beyond repair. She was worried of course, considering how cruel humans could be. Clover hung onto Erika as they were transported to the wall; she would know Maple's scent anywhere and so the kitten began to sniff the air, attempting to catch her smell.
She turned towards her Master, who apologized. "It is not Master's fault," Clover replied, turning back towards the night sky. "Master has to protect herself," her nose twitched, she found it. "There," Clover pointed towards the fishing district on the poor side of the wall. No doubt they were hiding in some shoddy fishing warehouse. She licked her lips hungrily, the thought of seafood making her hungry. This wasn't the time for food thoughts! Clover had to find Maple! Before the humans hurt her! The kitten hung onto Erika, closing her eyes as they traveled through the shadows and landed just outside of the fishing district. Clover sniffed the air, just barely catching a whisper of her sister's scent.
The heavy fish smell was making it hard to find her and the kitten got turned around quite a few times trying to lead Erika to the right place, but eventually, they made it to a large metal building, nondescript black vehicles parked just outside. "In here," Clover whispered, her tail flickering eagerly. In there was Maple and hopefully her ward.
