Isaiah waited for Arabelle to take the lead before following her. They walked in silence for a few minutes, and Izzy couldn't help but feel a bit uneasy. Considering he has always been a conversation starter, this was unusual for him. But what was he to say at a time like this? There wasn't much that could be said that wouldn't make the situation worse. So he opted to stay quiet, that is until Arabelle spoke. Her question seemed to have come out of the blue, but he was glad she asked. It steered the conversation in a much more safe direction. Granted, the response to the question involved him talking about his and Raelyn's parents, but it had been long enough to where he could comfortably talk about them without getting chocked up. That's not to say he didn't miss them anymore because he did, every single day. "Well...we've been here all our lives." he explains, eyes set on the road ahead. "We thought about moving away, selling the farm and getting at apartment for the two of us but...we just couldn't leave this place. Not after our parents worked so hard to build it, ya know?" he kept his pace slow, but fast enough to keep up with Arabelle. Raelyn and he had talked about leaving the farm many times, but they always ended up with the same answer. Where else would they even go?

Rowan was honestly okay with not speaking, but of course he knew Raelyn wasn't. Just like Arabelle, she had to be either talking or moving or doing some sort of activity. He knew it was just a matter of time before she spoke again, and he was right. "How does um...magic work? You used my energy earlier...does that mean I can do magic?" It was an odd question, especially since Rowan had grown up and been raised by warlocks and witches all his life. He never had anyone ask him how magic worked, because they were the ones teaching him. The question itself brought a half smile to his face, though for only a couple of seconds. "Not exactly" he said. After a short beat of silence he walked towards her, taking a seat beside her so that they were facing one another. "No one can do magic unless they are born a witch or warlock." he explained, placing his palms facing upwards. Two small holographic figure appeared in each palm, both resembling the shape of a human body. One was covered in a soft blue glow while the other glowed a dark red. "But because our systems and yours are different, we can take human energy which our bodies don't have, and convert it into our own. Like recharging a phone battery to get the phone to work again.". It was an odd example, but the only way he could think of explaining it without confusing her even more.
