"Fine..." he muttered, followed by a sigh as he mustered up the courage to lock eyes with Belle. "But at least tell me...how much longer do we have you for?" Isaiah hoped she wouldn't lie about this, so at the very least he could make the best out of the little time they did have left. They had walked so far from the house now, it was no longer in view. The sky above them shimmered with an uncountable amount of glimmering specks and Izzy wondered if his parents were somewhere up there watching over them. If they were here, they would surely know what to do.
He'd been through enough in his lifetime, things that should have prepared him for something like this. Saying goodbye to people had never been difficult for him, considering he never truly felt a connection with anyone save Belle. It should have been easy, so why did he feel like his chest was tight and the back of his eyes were beginning to burn? He swallowed the lump in his throat and moved over to the fridge to get a cold drink of water, hoping Belle would be back soon. They needed to go over their fight plan.
