Markus grinned as Lucian slowly emerged from his hiding place, knowing full well that Lucian was prepared to fight with whatever energy he had left simply by the first look on his face and his body language, which all changed when his eyes laid on Markus. "Sure you did, you bastard." he said with a sly grin, but grimaced as he could feel the stab wound in his side slowly tearing open more whenever he moved or even spoke. He did his best to grin and bare it as Lucian talked, but noticed the change in his voice and expression when his eyes glossed over Markus' wound by his side. "I'll be fine, trust me." he said rather harshly as he panted heavily, moving his hand by his side a shadow-like substance formed around the wound, it would help from him bleeding out, but it wouldn't help heal it or last very long. All it would do is help buy them more time until they got out of there. Markus helped Lucian back to his feet as well as he could, helping hold him as the two walked out of the room and back into the hallway that he had come from. Markus hadn't anticipated how macabre it really was. The once pristine white walls were now painted in red and gore as entrails and blood covered the majority of the interior of that part of the hallway. "I wouldn't look down if I were you." he muttered as they brushed past the remains of the guards, stepping over an upper half of a torso, or what one would consider it if had been still intact.
As they shuffled down the empty, silent, and bloodsoaked corridor not a word was uttered until they got near the elevator. One of the men was still alive as he was rather literally clinging onto life as he held his entrails close to his torn into the midsection. A large trickle of blood sputtered from him lips as he wordlessly mouthed the words 'help' to them. Markus simply shook his head and sighed, without a word or even a reaction the mad was silenced as a dark spear-like formation impaled him in his chest, a soft gasp of air exited his lips as the light in his eyes finally faded. Markus helped Lucian into the elevator finally and pushed him up against the wall as he pressed the button to go back upstairs, "I don't know what we'll find up there..." he muttered, as if almost to himself as a rather vacant look overtook his face. The small chime of the elevator took him out of his stupor as the door opened to find nothing on the other side. The building was abandoned, no one was there like they were before, "They all left...Best to get out of here, now.." he said as he pulled Lucian back to his feet and the two made their way down the streets, taking back alleyways and less populated streets until they made it back to Markus' apartment, the door was unlocked and they made their way in as Markus put Lucian on the couch and went to go find some things for his wounds. "I-I shouldn't have let you leave by yourself...I'm sorry, Lucian.." Markus finally spoke up as he came back with some gauze and disinfectants in hand. Normally Markus wouldn't have admitted it, but he was scared that he could have lost his only ally in all of this-no, his only friend in all of this. Whether he liked it or not, that was how he was slowly becoming to feel and he could slowly feel it creeping upon him, and he didn't exactly know how to feel about it..
