"What did I do to deserve a kid like you?" Fox asked with a sigh. Key sat awkwardly on the bench in front of him, looking down at her lap. "I'm sorry," Her tail lay on the bench beside her. They had gotten away, just as she planned. "Stay on the ship, I'm going to find your Mother. When she hears what you've done, she's going to be very disappointed." Key jumped to her feet, stiff as a board. "Please!" She begged, "Don't tell Mom!" She grabbed onto his legs, going limp as he tried to walk away. "Key, stop this. You're just going to make it worse," Key shook her head, her tail dragging against the wooden floor. "Please Papa! I didn't know that they would get out!" She mewled, partly in pain.
"Yes you did," he scolded. Key got up from the floor and dusted herself off. They were gone now, there was nothing Fox could do. "Papa, how do you know I'll stay if you go?" Key asked innocently, batting her eyes at him. Fox grunted, turning around. "Fine, we'll both stay here until everyone else gets back." Key nodded, the two of them sitting on the bench, waiting. It only took a few minutes for Fox to grow bored. "Alright, we'll do chores until they get back. Come on, let's do the washing up." Key groaned, but stood, realizing that this was a mild punishment compared to taking away her things or making her sit out of a performance. Key and Fox collected the bowls that were left on the table, he washed them while she dried and put them away. Next, he made her sweep the floor and then mop.
"You're lucky I'm not making you clean the toilets with a toothbrush," Fox laughed and Key stiffened. He pat her head, her tail immediately swishing back and forth. What were the others doing? She wondered. Had they found Madame Magpie? Had they accosted her and taken back the key? Key could only hope so. "Can I practice?" Key asked, finishing the mopping. It was past noon now, they should have been back already. Key was beginning to get worried. "I suppose some practice can never hurt," Fox agreed. Key went to her room to change, Fox waiting outside the door to make sure that she didn't sneak off somehow. She lay the blue practice matts down on the ground, about to go into a handstand when they heard the hatch open. "That should be them," Fox gestured for her to follow. "Let's go say hello."
"I hope they got the key," Key followed him, tail swishing nervously. It was only two of their family, Argent and Lucias. "Where are the others?" Fox asked, peeking around them, anxious. Lucias shrugged, "We got separated. We figured that we would come back here and regroup, besides, it's getting late. We have to get ready for tonight's performance." Fox nodded, peeking his head out the door, but no one was coming across the bridge. "Alright, let's start setting up. Key, scrap practice. Looks like we're going right into warm ups." She nodded, beginning to run a lap aruond the ring in order to warm her muscles up. After up, she didn't want to get a cramp. It wasn't the first time they had run into trouble on a large airship and it certainly wouldn't be the last.
