Truthfully, Sapphire was not spending as much time with Trinity as she wanted to. Between all the long hours of training their agents had them do and alone time with their respective partners, the girls barely saw each other outside of being teammates. It was great to have a few hours with just the two of them to focus on each other’s lives and looking pretty for the party. They never got to relax like this, any of them on Team Omega or Team Alpha. But somehow they managed to convince their agents to throw this party, which Sapphire partially believed was approved because of the issues with their missions. Sapphire wasn’t upset with that; if she had to take a limp to get a party with her friends, she was ready for it. And it sounded like Trinity did well with her gifts. ”Man, you did really well! I’m sure the guys will love those. I should have just given you my money to find things for them,” Sapphire says with a laugh, turning on her heating tools for her hair.

She immediately took notice of Trinity’s blushing when she mentioned Dom. She was very interested to hear what Trinity had to say, considering Dom wasn’t the most emotionally available person. She didn’t blame Trinity for not wanting to admit her feelings to someone as intimidating as Dom. Though it did sound like it went well, other than the fact that he wasn’t ready for a label necessarily. ”I don’t blame him. It took time for me and Ruby to put a label on anything, mainly because of me though. It doesn’t surprise me with him, but at least he’s finally said something to you. I would focus on the positive,” Sapphire replies, trying to look towards the positivity. It was hard to figure things out just as two young adults, it was even harder as hero teammates, and would be especially difficult to be on the same team. Sapphire hoped for the best, and would definitely have to relay this new information to Josiah.

Dom had found himself relying on Josiah to confide in recently. He wasn’t sure what had broken down in between them, possibly from having to carry each other back from near death missions. It wasn’t like him, but it was nice to have another guy to confide in that wasn’t going to pick at every one of his weaknesses. He rolled his eyes at Josiah’s comment, but still managed to laugh. ”I don’t think that’ll be an issue, but I appreciate your concern,” Dom finally replies. At least, he hoped that it would stay that way. They’d talked about how good they felt together, but there was still worry, at least on Dom’s part. He knew Trinity wasn’t like the last girl he dated, but he still felt some anxiety about it. Plus they were going to be heroes, which didn’t protect them from not getting hurt. Now that they were developing these stronger, romantic feelings for each other, he didn’t know how he would react if Trinity got hurt. He knew she could protect herself, but that didn’t protect him from worrying.

But, he wasn’t going to worry on the night of their party. Josiah asked what he had got the girls, and mentioned that he’d gotten a cat for Sapphire. He raised his eyebrows at such a risky gift, but it sounded like something she would like. ”I hope that your cat idea doesn’t get us all in trouble with the agents,” Dom says, only imagining how upset the agents would be if they found out. He’d already planted his own gifts, which he was proud of considering he wasn’t the best at gifts. ”I got Sapphire some gloves and a visor that will protect her hands and eyes for when she’s making gadgets. And I was able to find a more feminine version of the necklace Trinity got me, so I got her a matching necklace.”
