In the open fields of the courtyard, a group of castle guards gathered in front of Korgan. The mountain of meat and muscle that made up his body hunched upon a bar stool one-tenth his size, his legs crossed, his chin rested upon his knuckles, his lips pursed into a grand pout.
"Right. You have ten seconds to tell me which one of you's a dirty rat, or I'm sending all of you to Eike." His stomach turned, and his eye twitched upon mention of the inquisitor's name.
There was a moment of silence.
Korgan tapped at his knee to count the seconds.
The silence persisted.
"We… we didn't do it, sir," one guard mumbled.
"We're all loyal to the Queen!" Another added.
"I named me cat after her favourite colour!"
Korgan took a moment to consider, then shrugged. "...Good enough for me. NEXT!"
The interrogations persisted with little to show for them. Groups upon groups of guards were cleared, with little to no harm visited upon them save a scant few cases of soiled trousers.
