A spectator once, now a part
Ah dinnertime, indeed time had indeed passed by rather quickly when she occupied herself with a book. And now they had all gathered together to eat with some missing exceptions of course. It was natural that not everyone would arrive immediately. However much more differently was as she was ready to prepare to sit down for dinner, Micah spoke to her.
Well, he was one of the more friendlier of the children so it was no surprise that one of them would have spoke to her even if she was unintentionally quiet and kept to herself most of the time. Not that she did it on purpose of course, she just often kept herself occupied with knowledge gathering. Her gaze turned to face Micah as she gave a small nod in reply. "Well, for me it was light I suppose. 314 pages in one sitting, I learned a bit more today but I should keep my sleep in moderation of course. I should not miss classes next time around even if I do study a lot." She replied as she gave a small light huff. Indeed, it was never a good thing to appear like one of the problem children's...She rather not sit in a lecture hall for a few hours, how else could she continue research like that? And she rather not let Teacher down as she was one of the more studious students.
"But I will have to work on a balance of my personal research and chores and school. A lot of times I simply engross myself in my studies and lose sleep, staying up for a full day is not healthy as I found out myself. Oh, as much as I would love to stay and chat Piper might scold us for not coming yet. We are all family and a family meal needs both food and family or it wont be a family meal." She added on as she went on ahead.
Soon enough the Children gathered, herself included as they all said grace in G//D's name...Such a difficult word to say...The words...For her it was not a normal language. But nevertheless they said grace as she soon tucked in quietly with her meal, not reading at the table of course as that was bad table manners and she was certain Piper, or even the angels would give her another earful if she was caught again doing that. Of course that did not mean she was unaware of her surroundings...Her gaze looked at the other children, the idle chatter to listen on any interesting little nugget of interesting news...And most notably Cressida and Theron arriving late with the former looking a bit banged up...And that was all she saw of the timid and shy Cressida as she was basically dragged away to tend to her injuries.
Poor girl was stressed that much she knew, it was very obvious from her perspective. She read about it, stress was bad. But it was not her position to meddle in her life, nor was she as smart as Nurse to help the Children or more socially good like Piper. Nay...She was Hristiana and she simply researched a lot of things. Maybe...She could try something...But not today...The day was running out that's why. She had dinner to eat, no doubt some extra chores then an early sleep after research. That was what she needed to do for today. No use overthinking situations.
