She wasn't shocked when his lips meet hers, but the usual spark of fire she felt wasn't there. She was so upset about what had happened that the same intensity was gone, at least for her. He touched her cheeks and she winced a little. Now she was only used to his touch leading to pain. However, she couldn't make herself leave him.
She finally broke off the kiss, but she didn't move from her spot. "I have to go," she whispered on his lips. "I need to go talk to, nevermind." She wouldn't say her best friend's name. Alex would explode. He somehow got it in his head that every time she saw her best friend, she cheated on him. "I just have to go."
