Important Information

To answer your question a Dracon can drink animal blood, but since animal blood don't have all the needed vitamins, minerals, etc. it wont keep the Dracon alive for long; I'll say five days at most. In eight hour intervals the Dracon get sicker and sicker until he/she dies. That's better than not drinking at all because a Dracon can only live three days without blood and in four hour intervals the Dracon get sicker and sicker until he/she dies. Symptoms of blood deprivation for Dracons is the same as a human's symptoms would be if they were deprived of water. Also, Dracons drink a pint of blood a day (Cannot be all at one time since they will die due to drowning just like a human would die if they drink too much water). Dracon's need blood since their body overwork their body resulting in their cells overworking and dying sooner than they should so to make up for it their cells reproduce at a increased rate, but do to some type of genetic defect their red blood cells reproduce at the same rate as humans. So end result is that the red blood cells die twice as fast and their body need a way to bring in new red blood cells, so Dracons drink blood to meet the standards.

*Tip: Dracons that drink their own blood can delay the symptoms and extend the 24 hours to 36 hours. The consequences to this is that they must drink twice the amount needed when they were in thirst.

*Tip: Dracon's lose a pint of blood a day so they need to drink a pint a day and the amount they need to drink accumulate if they don't meet the standards. (Ex: A Dracon that has only drank half a pint the day before must drink a pint and a half that day)
