"The Pantheon of the Gods"

Father Arthus - Creator and ruler of Mirus Parvulus. Said to be the brightest star in the night sky.

Findla - Wife of Father Arthus. Watches over women and children.

Dethos & Linthos - Gods of creation and destruction, respectively.

Maranne - Goddess of nature. Mother of Dethos and Linthos.

Elthor - God of war. Father of Dethos and Linthos.

Lorelle - Goddess of love and beauty.

Haril - God of scholars and knowledge. His influence has brought about Mirus Parvulus' cultural renaissance.

Neralta - Goddess of life and death. Was once human.

Altael - God of change.

"The Creation of Mirus Parvulus"

In the beginning there were only thoughts. Fragments of emotions and ideas. Drifting about the endless corridors of nothingness, these thoughts knew only the absolute emptiness that was their existance. These thoughts began to intermingle with each other, forming more complex ideas and experiencing more intense feelings. More and more of them intertwined and they grew as a whole, becoming bigger and bigger until finally there were no more independent thoughts left. Together they formed a consciousness which humans would later call a God. Father Arthan, to be exact.

Father Arthan soon grew weary of his new life and desired a companion. Thinking on how best to create another entity, he decided that "compassion" was the least useful of all his newly gathered qualities. Extracting a piece of "compassion" from his very being, Father Arthan created the first new life in this vast nothingness. "Compassion" had taken on a new form. This form he called "woman." Humans would later know her as Findla.

Father Arthan, along with the woman, soon became restless. Bored with all the nothingness they saw before them, the two decided to create a place where they would house other beings like themselves. Using the thoughts and emotions from within them, they crafted a masterpiece. A world in which to place whatever they wished. They called this world "Mirus Parvulus." Their wonderful child. Before long their child was filled with new and beautiful creations - forests made of trees, seas from droplets, and mountains out of stone.

Realizing they needed someone to care for their new creations, Father Arthan and Findla extracted Maranne from themselves. Gentle yet wild, hardy yet frail, Maranne saw to the proper balance of nature in the world. Later, feeling threatened by the vast amounts of negative emotions he contained, Father Arthan did away with them. With the collection of emotion he created Elthor. It wouldn't be until much later that the Gods would understand his true purpose - when they would witness the power of war rage over their beautiful Mirus Parvulus.

Maranne and Elthor soon created two new beings between the two of them. They called them Dethos and Linthos - creation and destruction, respectively. Seeing what the others had made, Father Arthan and Findla saw that it was good, and set out to fill their new world with lesser beings for them to watch over. Ther "children" as they would later call them. Thus, Mirus Parvulus was home to the most complex creatures yet...humans. Lorelle and Haril were created to aid and guide the humans with unseen hands.

Then, one day something extraordinary happened. Something the Gods did not expect. Looking down on their earth, they watched a young woman named Neralta as she herself gave life to another human being. The Gods watched in awe as a tiny, flawed life was born from her flesh. Soon thereafter, Neralta's body stopped moving. She was the first human to give life. And the first to die. Findla and Lorelle wept inconsolably, sending harsh rains down upon the earth. To appease them, Father Arthan captured Neralta's essence and carried it up into the heavens. There, he granted her eternal life as the newest divine; Goddess of life and death.

The Gods saw that their new world and everything they had placed in it was perfect. They reveled in the beauty of it all and they swore that it would never change. Father Arthan, in an attempt to preserve all he had done, extracted "change" from his being and sought to seal it away forever, so that Mirus Parvulus might enjoy an eternity of happiness and prosperity. The essense of thoughts and emotions he had removed proved to be too unstable to handle. The entities swirled around each other until they combined into a new being - the last of the Gods. He called himself Altael, the God of change. He is always watching Mirus Parvulus, altering life on the planet by his fickle whims. Humans have come to accept him. Some even embrace and worship him, while others denounce him and live in fear of the God. Whether for good or for bad, Altael's influence on Mirus Parvulus is always evident.
