Carry On
Most recent OOC posts in _Nothing, Ignore_
Re: Carry On
I'm very happy you're here and welcome to the site, but this is a huge faux paus and a serious issue that's been a struggle to faze out.

Re: Carry On
P.S. Be wary of short, commonly said posts in the OOC. They have anti-spamming systems in place that make me have to add this so that it is unique and doesn't trip the system.

The reason why they garner so much hate is that they take up valuble RP space and push all of the RPs that are looking for players down and out of everyone's sight. There are alternatives, however.

For the sake of practicing coding, try using the PM system. It does allow BBCode (the formating language used on RPG). To preview what it will look like, there is a preview button on the bottom of the page and to "save" the message just send it to yourself. As for musings, texts, and graphics, you can use Google Drive. It is almost always up and they give you 15 gigabytes of storage for free, which for pictures and texts it is a lot. I also see it commonly used by artists (I am a game programing student) and it takes them quite a few projects to fill it up the free space given to them. Another nice thing about Google Drive is that it uses your Google acount, which syncronizes with everything Google.
As for dealing with the fact that you don't have the ability to PM, I would advise that you do what you can so that you can get it as quickly as possible. Not only is it a good coding testing ground, as mentioned above, but it also is the main way that GMs will attempt to communicate with you.
For developing as a writer, check out the Roleplay Academy forum. It is chalk full of people that are just waiting to help newer players learn everything that they need to learn.
If you want to collaborate, RolePlayGateway (RPG) has this awesome tool called RPG Write. While I have used it less than I would like, I can still attest for the fact that it is extremely useful when trying to write collaborated posts. The easiest way to get to it is to go to the "My Roleplays" section of the site, then look up near the big RPG logo at the upper left, and click "RPG Write."
If you have any other questions, I get on about once or twice a day and I immediately respond to when I get PMs. Unfortunately, I can be kind of hard to reach otherwise. Good luck and have a good time on RPG!
