Darc

"I'm not a human! I'm not.....weak...."

0 · 298 views · located in Earth

a character in “A Darc Game of Love”, originally authored by FamishedPants, as played by RolePlayGateway

Description

Name: Darc

Age: Looks 18

Gender: Male

Species: Demon

Hair: Raven Black medium-lengthed hair that is always kept slicked back.

Eyes: Crimson red that glows when he's enraged.

Picture:
Image

Past love: Meh... Shirin, I guess. I can see how they would have bonded....B-but i-if you don't want to.......

Personality: "Cold", "Ruthless", "Malicious". These are the words somebody would probably use to describe Darc had they only seen him or briefly interacted with him. He does act with more male bravado than most, but it's all a facade. With people he trusts, he's calmer and actually humorous, completely ditching his outward appearance with his character. He's even shown a soft side at one point and though he doesn't show it often and he can't get himself to act too mean upon a female, his race or another. In short, he's a tsundere.

History: Darc grew up an outcast. Why? Well, look at him! Doesn't he remind you of a human? He looks as if he did have some blood relation to that race. Had his father slept with a human female? He himself didn't know, and it didn't help that his mother was nowhere to be seen while he grew, causing everyone to believe such a tale. For years he was taunted and teased by the other demons, destroying his self esteem for the longest time. What's worse is that he didn't even truthfully act like a proper demon! Even if he himself wasn't sure that he was fully demon, he found a false face to put on himself. Darc eventually made himself a demon to fear! His swordplay unmatched, his claws sharp! The younger demons didn't mess with him too much after he started standing up for himself. Thus, his false self was born! Nobody would ever find out that he had feelings, that he had positive emotions like love or something 'weak' like that.

Nobody but her....

Other: Darc is unmatched when it comes to swordfighting, something he fancies greatly. Even at such a young age, he easily bests others who should beat him with one hand tied behind his back! He won't admit it, but he cannot hurt a girl. As a partial dragon, Darc can manipulate fire to a degree. His dragon-arm is just as powerful as it would be on a whole-dragon and he may possess other abilities yet to be discovered.

So begins...

"I wouldn't know, Shirin," Darc had been pondering that same question for a minute now, and had no real answer. He had hoped that it wasn't too long or it would mean he had years of his life wasted. Well actually.... maybe not. If he was really as happy as he had seemed in his dream, then he couldn't say his life was ever 'wasted'.

Then his mind drifted onto a less noble topic: If they were together, and really happy.... they might've expressed their love more intimately than a kiss or a hug. His eyes widened when he thought of this, a blush forming on his face and he was oblivious to the fact that Shirin was thinking somewhat the same thing. While she was thinking of the kids portion of the act... he was just stuck on the actual deed. No.... they couldn't do that!.....He.... well, it was........

Shirin snapped him out of his daze somewhat. "Err... I hope," he answered with a faultered voice, showing his nervousness now that his mind had stuck itself on a topic it shouldn't have. He looked at the curves on her body.....Damnit! Now he was checking her out, but he couldn't stop. He wanted to slap himself, but that would just look weird. Then again, looking at her the way he was probably felt that way too.

(Just pretend the others are non-existent and we'll literally start from here! c:)

Shirin blinked as Darc faltered. And she knew why, she could feel his eyes on her body tracing her curves. She blushed shyly and tried to hide herself with her arms. If at one point they had been more intimate she was pretty sure Darc had to grind into her head to be self confident because Shirin had trouble just wearing normal clothes around people and not hiding. Shirin looked up at Darc and another thought came to mind. How tall and strong he was compared to her... He must have crushed her...But by there hug last night she could tell he could easily be gentle. As she thought more about it her eyes wandered over him. Tracing his muscle and structures her tail curling shyly when she realized she was staring and her cheeks flushed red. She felt like a pervert even thinking about it mostly because in her own mind Darc probably wasn't so she felt guilty for thinking of it.

"Ummm...Darc??? What do we do now???" She was trying to change the subject to think of something else. And now that she was she felt flooded with worry's. They barely remembered each other they had no idea who did this to them and they were stuck on Earth. All they truly had was each other and the little information about where they were...Near the ocean everything else was a blurb. And there were also humans to worry about sense she was sure someone probably found the hunter corpses left from the battle yesterday and that means people would be on high alert for weird looking people and it did not get much weirder then Shrin... Darc could blend. Her not so much, she had a tail, markings, feathers, weird eyes, and wings.

"Huh? Oh... err...." Darc thought for a moment, finally snapping himself from the shameful gaze he had kept on her body. He moved his eyes back up to meet hers as he pondered their options. Well, what were they supposed to do besides live? It wasn't as if they had any leads on what happened, and even then what? He sighed, his eyes showing a regret for his inability to produce a good answer, but he did anyways.

"We just need to have minimal contact with the humans and stay alive for now," he said. He knew that out of the two of them, he was the one who would have to purchase goods from the humans, but there were a couple things wrong with that idead: One, they had no money in which to purchase anything. The currency here would most likely be USD. Two, he didn't have anything to cover his dragon half with, which meant that he wasn't going to get anywhere without drawing unwanted attention to him. For now, they would have to wait until something happened. Good thing Darc knew how to fish. He was sure lava fishing wasn't too much different than water fishing, so maybe they'd be good. The just needed a pole and some bait, right?

"We have enough canned foods to last a couple of days, but after that we'll have to rely on ourselves. I can fish once I have the correct tools to do so," he told her informatively. "Don't worry about the humans though..... if they even try to cause harm to you, to taint you, I'll put them in their place, okay?"

Shirin shyly let her arms drop when his gaze returned to her eyes and she blushed and smiled. "Yeah... We should be ok... At least for awhile...And this might sound silly but I can fish with my tail...if I leave it in the water long enough... something always bites it...But I'd prefer if we used a fishing rod... And sense we are staying at a fishermen cabin there's bound to be one right??" She took Darc by his dragon hand and held it tight leading the way back into the cabin. She opened the door letting the light poor in and looked around. "Wow... this place could use a good cleaning." With the light poring in it became possible to see all the microscopic dust in the air and all the dust on EVERYTHING else. Shirin moved about the cabin slowly, her sharp eyes looking for something. There was nothing up on the walls and the floors were covered in dust but everything else. But there were things on the floor and leaning against the wall. Shirin spotted something in the corner and dug around for awhile finding an abandoned partially broken fishing rod. Now all they needed was wire. "Jeez if we gathered up all the cobwebs in the place and threaded them we could make strong fishing wire probably." She mused as she used her tail to bat away cobwebs and spider webs.

Darc listened to her plan to use her tail and objected to the idea. "No... I don't want you to get wet," he said, oblivious to how very, very wrong that could be taken. He still kinda flinched when she took his hand, though he settled down much quicker and followed her as they went to the fisherman's cabin. Looking around, one could tell it hadn't been used in quite some time, dust covering the surface of just about everything and smaller particles dancing about in the air. Since Shirin decided she would search around one part of the cabin, Darc took the other side and investigated the area. He threw a couple of open and empty cans out of the way and found a somewhat empty box. He looked inside carefully and found.... a wire? Well, that would do him good if they could just fin- Nevermind, Shirin did that.

"Here, I found some," he told her, holding the wire up so she could see it. Luckily for them, it wasn't tangled and it would be much simpler to use this than if it had been. He looked away from Shirin before speaking. "Err, I'm not too good with putting this on, unfortunately......"

Shirin giggled. "Don't worry I can do it." She gently took the wire from Darc and smiled up at him. She sat down and began untangling the wire there were few knots luckily. After she was done untangling it she grabbed the fishing pole and began fitting the wire. It took a while and the sharp wire cut her fingers a little but she finally got it and lastly found a hook to attach to the wire. "We can use some of the canned peaches as bait...And we don't really have to worry about cooking I bet I could clean this place up or you can always use your awesome fire abilities." She smiled and handed the fishing rod to Darc. "In the mean time I should probably clean this mess though...If were gonna stay here anyway." Shirin opened all the windows, and then grabbed her shirt that was ripped and tied the end of it into a knot so it was closer to her skin the ripped part made it possible to see her belly button and skin but Shirin was focused on cleaning and barely noticed. She mostly did this so while she cleaned it would not get soaked with water specially if she ended up cleaning up tight spaces. She also pulled a ribbon from her poofy shorts and tied her hair back. "Alrighttt~ I'm ready!" She spun and smiled before skipping over to the kitchen and looking around for stuff she could use to clean.

Darc watched sheepishly as Shirin managed to solve their fishing pole problem. He wished his hands were both normal so he could do that, but..... they weren't. Well, nothing he could do about it, he supposed. As she handed him the fishing rod, he watched her get ready to clean. He wasn't sure why, but his eyes were drawn to her stomach an- Oh, that's why. He could see the skin on her stomach, which was rather attractive, he might add. He also felt this, and cursed himself menatally when he did, knowing that she would pick up on that. In an effort to distract her from that, he spoke up. "Then I'll fish...!"

Shirin blushed feeling Darc's emotions she looked down at her stomach and blushed. "S-stop staring~ It's embarrassing for me..." Her cheeks flushed every wild shade of red imaginable as she used her tail to shoo him from the house. "B-Besides... You have fishing to do dragon boy...You can stare all you want later." She huffed and blushed before kissing his dragon scaled cheek. "Now stop huffing about your dragon side and all." She smiled and spun around getting over the embarrassment and got to work cleaning. She smiled and then got to work finding rags she began cleaning everything using the feathery side of her tail to dust things.

She continued her cleaning for maybe an hour or two without checking up on Darc. She knew he would be fine, she'd seen first hand his strength and cunning what were the fish gonna do??? Outsmart him? She giggled at the thought and continued to clean. She dusted everything and cleaned the kitchen. She'd organized everything also. She was about to drag the mattress out so she could slap the dust out of it when she heard a noise. It sounded like someone walking in the sand... Behind the shack??? She tensed and stayed quiet hearing muffled voices. She knew they were not hunters because hunters screeched. So then what? The dead Hunter bodies from the night before popped into her head. Humans??? Probably if they discovered the war zone of non-human corpses they would surely be canvasing the entire city. Including the beach. She shifted a little and the floor boards squeaked she froze and it felt like Ice-ran through the veins. The talking went dead quiet and Shrini panicked her mind linking with Darc's but she was too scared to think of words and instead sent him and scrambled single of panicked emotions. Shirin was brave, she could fight hunters. But humans... Human were different they had many things that Shirin liked, hearts, feelings, acceptance. But many of them... Were also very wild. And every-time something was unknown to them it had to be taken out. In this case that something unknown was Shirin.

Darc found himself being assualted with Shirin's tail. "I-I wasn't staring!" he protested, slowly making his way to the door. He pushed it open as Shirin spoke, ultimately blushing fiercely when she told him he could stare later. "W-what? That's....." instead of trying to figure out how to speak, he simply hurried off towards the ocean so he could fish.

After about an hour and a half of not even a nibble, Darc got a single bite. This one bite though.... it was unnatural. He felt himself being pulled violently towards the sea, as if it itself was trying to suck him in, but still he fought, reeling and hoping that the line didn't break nor the pole snap. This fish had to be colossal, and Darc couldn't help but question who was going to win this battle. The sound of the line stretching was audible, as were Darc's grunts as he continued this game of tug-of-war with the fish. All seemed lost until finally......

*Yank*

What exited the water was not the fish Darc was hoping for in the least. It flew over his head and slammed into the sand behind him, violently whipping its fin and snapping its teeth shut on the air in its attempt to escape. Darc stood dumbfounded as he looked at the old rod, not expecting this dirty old thing to catch a shark. A great white at that! Why the hell was it so close?! And.... why did it go after that bait? Did sharks like canned peaches? Humans must have to deal with the oddest things. Upon further inspection of the shark (about ten minutes after it stopped moving), he found what the shark had eaten. A fish. But this big fish that the shark had attacked had also eaten a fish.... and that fish ate a smaller one..... and so on. "....okay...." he mumbled aloud in his confusion as he gripped the back of the shark and tossed it further towards the cabin. He didn't want it having a second wind and jumping into the ocean again.

He was rather proud of himself at catching such a big beast, and would've definetly boasted to Shirin, had she not just knocked him off his feet with a burst of fear beamed directly into his head. "Shirin?!" he started at a fast pace towards the cabin until noticing just behind it were figures. Humans? Damn! They had weapons, and they were definetly going to try to kill them. They surround the back of the cabin, and Darc got an idea. He gathered a bit of fire into his demonic hand and shot it off in the distance, the humans shooting their attention towards it and allowing Darc to hurriedly sprint into the cabin. "Shirin!" he shout-whispered. "Are you okay?"

Shirin relaxed when she saw Darc and hugged him tight. "Yeah I'm fine...I heard humans I think there on high alert probably from finding the hunter bodies from yesterday...Should we lure them away from the cabin... or leave???" Her heart was pounding as she heard some of the humans leave to investigate something. She directed Darc away from the back wall avoiding the squeaky floor boards. "I don't think they would kill us...But they most probably will want to dissect us which is noo better..." She tensed awkwardly and opened her wings ready to use then as a shield if the humans decided to shoot.

Darc embraced the hug, as if it were natural and didn't think twice to do so. "I'm glad,". He made sure to hold her closely as she spoke, never daring to miss a single word she spoke as he kept his ears open. "We'll want to lure them away, or wait them out. We didn't walk all the way here just to lose this place," he answered, following her steps cautiously so as to avoid making any sounds that might give away their presence. His face turned to disgust when she told him about the alternative to being killed. Like hell he would let them do that to her!

"They won't be able to do that, I promise you," he grabbed his sword and held it at the ready pointed towards the door as he stood in front of Shirin. Anything that wanted to get to her was going to have to get through him. Nothing would get through him.

Shirin watched Darc draw his sword and grabbed his hand stopping him and making him lower it. "No...If you kill them they will simply send more too look for the missing...I have an idea it may put me in danger but it should keep you and the cabin safe." She looked him in the eyes and opened her wings looking at the bullet wound. She would have to survive the pain. "I will sleep outside and go a little way away from the house... Block your ears cause I will let out a banshees scream...They will rush over to the noise probably all of them and I burst into the sky and lead them away. Il find a secluded spot to land and make them think that's my "nest" or home whatever... Hopefully they will stay there thinking I will come down...And then I can return here...If I see a safer spot for us...One that's nearby we can move there if not...We should be safe..." She heard the troops returning reporting a small fire but nothing else. She knew they would go into the cabin soon and looked at Darc. Her body language was showing determination. She was not going to let up. Or give up and resort to killing again.

Darc hesitated when he heard her plan. He didn't want this! She could be hurt or killed! But.... it was the best plan they had, and Darc's own wings weren't going to grow back any time soon, so Shirin was the only one who could do it, as much as he didn't want her to go. Darc's had raised and he set his human hand on Shirin's shoulder. "Don't you dare get hurt," he ordered, looking into her eyes. Inside, he was obviously feeling worried, but he didn't want to show that, regardless of if she could sense it or not.

"Please be safe,"

Shirin smiled up at him. "I'm not as weak as I let on so don't worry..." She opened her wings and her markings glowed feathers grew over the bullet wound and her wings grew a little in size. She leaned up and kissed Darc on the cheek. "If I'm not back within an hour I'm walking back... If I'm not back within a day...I'm kidnapped." She folded her wings and slipped out the front door closing it silently behind her. She heard the people still behind the cabin but they would not notice her. Quietly she moved away from the cabin then moved behind it a little ways. Once she was a little ways away she opened her mouth hopping Darc had listened and covered his ears, and let out a banshee screech. She saw the humans turn and she burst up into the sky spreading her wings and heading in the direction of sky scrapers her plan was to loose them in the city.

Like she'd hoped the humans all followed her running and shouting. She flew slow enough for them to keep there eyes on her but she flew fast enough that when they shot they missed. She continued flying until she reached the city's edge and began speeding up she knew by this point they would call in back up and get into vehicles. As she flew above the city she spotted the humans far below looking up and pointing but she spotted something else Hunters they were mingling about the city wearing heavy clothes that covered there body but they were there watching with sharp eyes. Feeling pressured by there seeing eyes she flew faster and landed up on a sky scraper. Where had the humans that were chasing her gone??? Suddenly a noise like a drown buzzed in her ear and she knew what was coming. The humans had called in a helicopter a Military chopper???. She waited until it was in site before jumping off the skyscraper. She let herself plummet to the ground before opening her wings and flying in random directions. She opened her mouth and let out a scream destroying random windows on buildings. This was mostly so they had no idea which way she went. She went around in a large circle before using what little energy she had left to burst away. Flying back to the beach she stayed low landing away from the cabin and making sure no one was watching before she sent Darc a message. "I think I brought them away... I saw Hunters all over the city I'm not sure what that means for us but I think we should move from the cabin... there's a small cove that kinda private we can take the food and move there... jsut until things mellow out... I saw military also and there was a chopper.

Darc frowned as Shirin took off, a bit worried for her, though there was nothing he could do at the moment due to the lack of wings. He missed them, and somebody had obviously removed them in the time that he'd forgotten. He wondered what had happened, because it wasn't just like he'd let someone remove them; that was very, very painful. So, he sat down as he waited for Shirin to return. That was all he could do.

His ears were cupped with his hands as Shirin started the distraction, though unlike the previous time when she did that, it didn't sting as bad. He figured that even if he did, it would still hurt a bit, but he almost thought that her scream sounded... normal. Strange. Even still, he remained quiet as he heard the men run off after her as she flew away. The plan worked.

It was a bit later when Shirin had contacted him via telepathy that he smiled. She informed him that not only were there many Hunters around, but also that the military was searching for them as well. That's what they get for causing all of that commotion, he guessed. She also told him of a cove in which they could hide out at, which seemed like the best choice. After all, the humans could return at any time and find them here, so moving on was much better than staying. However, it wasn't like he could tell her that he agreed with the plan - she wasn't there, and he couldn't speak back to her. So, he waited, sitting himself down on the cabin floor until she returned to him.

Shirin waited in the shadows until she was sure things were clear then darted over to the cabin and walked in. She smiled at Darc ignoring the pulsing pain from her injured wing. "See I'm alright." She spun just to show him and finally leaned against the wall catching the breath. "Also... If I can ask... what on earth is with the shark... Its by the cabin did YOU catch that thing or is it just laying there trying to evolve into a land creature..."

Darc wasn't convinced completely, still worried, though he wouldn't show that outwardly. He only offered a quite smile as she mentioned his catch of the day. And what a catch it was. He would be honest though: It was anything but easy, and he was still unsure as to why a shark was so close to the beach. It surprised him, really, but he wouldn't complain. No, he'd just gloat.

"I caught it, but it's possible that it is now trying to evolve." he grinned a small bit at the joke. "Unfortunately for it, I'm getting hungry, so it won't survive long enough to do that, but we can eat after we move out." he said, standing up fully. "Is there anything else you wanted to do, or are you ready?"

Shirin grabbed a bag and packed a lighter the blankets and the canned food. "No this is good... We should move fast before they come back." She slung the bag over her shoulder peeked out the cabin and quietly stepped out onto the sand. She sighed inwardly. They had just set up a place and now they were on the move again. But despite that she knew moving was important. Now that the humans were on there trail along with Hunters moving would be a valuable asset to staying alive. She looked up at Darc and calmed a little. Despite the fact she did not really know him... There was a bond that made her trust they'd be ok if they stuck together.
