Reinette and Thurilostel had spent the major part of their time together chatting, laughing, and discussing whatever came to their heads. Bregolon had tottered around the house, returning with various toys which he began to pile on Reinette's lap. She left him to his devices, only realizing just how many he'd piled there when she went to stand.

Slightly surprised, she couldn't help but laugh, Bregolon laughing along with her in his child-like way at the mess he'd effectively made. Thurilostel tutted slightly, reprimanding the child for inconveniencing Reinette. He just smiled along, beginning to pick up the toys two-by-two and put them back in their rightful homes.

Reinette was always surprised by how intelligent Bregolon seemed to be. His language skills were impressive for a child of only a year, and he usually followed directions rather well. She only had human children of Earth to compare to, and in that comparison, he easily won "best child in the universe" award, by a landslide. Reinette was also surprised that the young child seemed to be picking up her version of Westron rather well. She tried to speak in broken Elvish around the young child to avoid confusing him between the two languages, but he seemed to have made those distinctions on his own, and she couldn't quite wrap her mind around that.

Bregolon plopped himself down in his mothers lap, squirming a bit until he was comfortable. He curled up there, resting against his mothers chest as he dozed. Thurilostel held him securely there, before turning her attention once more to Reinette.

"I was thinking," Reinette began. "That I would like to maybe put my knowledge of Westron to use in a positive way." Thuri cocked an eyebrow, but made no move to interrupt, so Reinette continued. "Bregolon seems to be learning from me, so I thought... well, maybe I could be a Westron tutor. It would give me some sort of job, some sort of purpose. Once DĂșlinnor is healed, he will likely have his duties to attend to... Being able to teach Westron might be helpful, as I know it well enough."

Thurilostel seemed to mull that over in her head for a moment before she spoke. "It is true that your Westron is far greater than any of us... Though, sometimes you use words that no one has heard mention of before, but I expect that is because of your heritage and where you hail from." She paused, before smiling at Reinette. "I think that it would be a very beneficial experience, for both you and any students you teach."

Reinette was excited, and knew she wanted to bring the topic up with DĂșlinnor as soon as he returned. She hoped that he would like it, and that he might know someone she could talk to about starting such an endeavor.

Not long after, Aglaron made his way into the felt, and Reinette felt excitement at the prospects of seeing DĂșlinnor again. But he did not follow his brother into the flet - in fact, he didn't even appear to be present. Reinette was immediately worried that something terrible had happened to him, but his brother seemed in a fine enough mood, so she suspected that wasn't it.

Aglaron spoke to Thurilostel briefly, before she turned to Reinette. "Aglaron says that DĂșlinnor will join us shortly. He was speaking to Lady Ringil when they parted ways."

Reinette felt her heart sink slightly, an emotion she wasn't able to hide from her face. He was talking to Ringil? But then she remembered their conversation from earlier, that he would speak to Ringil at his earliest convenience about what had been said between the two. She certainly hoped that was the case, but she trusted DĂșlinnor and knew that he would do as he had said.

Aglaron took a seat, Bregolon climbing out of his mothers lap to quickly rush to his father. He seemed rather excited to have his dad back, and Reinette couldn't help but smile. Not too long later, Reinette heard the faint knocking sound against the door, smiling from ear to ear as DĂșlinnor entered the flet. Aglaron spoke to him briefly, before DĂșlinnor made his way to Reinette's side.

"Forgive my lateness. It was not planned."

Reinette shrugged, just happy that he had returned. She took his outstretched hand, using it to stand up as he spoke again.

"I should like to return home now if you would like to join me."

Reinette nodded, and the pair said their goodbyes soon enough to the small family, leaving them behind to enjoy the company of each other before Aglaron had to leave. The two made their way back to DĂșlinnor's flet, Reinette making sure to open the door for him and usher him in before following behind him.

DĂșlinnor made his way to the couch, Reinette also moving in the same direction. "Did Thurilostel tell you that Aglaron had been called back to the Border?" Reinette nodded, but noticed his closed eyes. He would have been able to see the moment, so she answered him out loud.

"Yeah, she told me a little bit about it... I feel terrible. They were just reunited, and now he will have to leave again for only-God-knows how long." But even so, she understood the necessity of it, and that he had pledged himself as a Warden to protect the city and the woods as well as the people who inhabited both things.

After a moment, Reinette realized the telltale signs of pain in DĂșlinnor's body. She quickly excused herself from the room, rushing to get the cremes, ointments and gauze needed to clean his wound. She hadn't realized the time, hadn't truly realized that it was well past due for a change. She hoped that the wait didn't cause any problems for him, or she'd never forgive herself.

Returning almost as quickly as she left, Reinette set about the process of undressing and cleaning the wound, as well as redressing it. She was quiet for the most part throughout the process, but as she tucked the last of the wrapping to hold the bandages tight, she coulnd't help but ask the question that was currently on her mind.

"Aglaron told me that you spoke with Ringil today... What did you speak about?" She wasn't angry or upset, but rather curious to see what DĂșlinnor had said to the Elven woman. She constantly dreaded running into her anytime she was alone, but she figured that now that DĂșlinnor had probably said something, things might begin to change. She could only hope that it was all for the better.

"Yeah, she told me a little bit about it... I feel terrible. They were just reunited, and now he will have to leave again for only-God-knows how long." Reinette said in answer to DĂșlinnor's question. "It is the first time that we will not be going together. That is why Thurilostel worries so." He explained. "However, things have gotten rather bad in the world and our lands must be protected." He did not like the idea of Aglaron going off without him though he had no choice. Of course, being able to spend time with Reinette was always a good thing.

He went silent, his eyes still closed as he tried to block out the pain. A moment later, Reinette left him. She was not gone long and once she'd arrived again Reinette was wanting to take care of his wound. The Elf opened his eyes, eyeing for only a second before complying. He did as he normally would, removing the sling and his tunic so that she could get to the wound. He, then, turned so that Reinette could get to the wound. They were both quiet during the task and within a few moments Reinette was finishing up. DĂșlinnor was glad to feel that the pain was slowly receding already. He could feel his body beginning to relax.

Only once she was finished did she break their silence. "Aglaron told me that you spoke with Ringil today... What did you speak about?" Her words caused DĂșlinnor to turn so that he could see her. She seemed curious more than anything. He was suddenly smiling at her. "I told her that it was her fault for all of our trouble out on the Border that day. Ringil was not pleased with this. She tried to tell me that you were lying and that she would never act in such a way. I then told her that I knew that you were telling nothing but the truth. It was then that I told her that she is not to go anywhere near you, speak to you..anything, lest I find out. She will not bother you."

It was then that DĂșlinnor slowly pulled his tunic back on and then followed the sling. "If she does, for some reason, bother you, let me know and I will take care of it for good. I would not see you bothered so by someone such as her." He had taken to cupping her cheek as he spoke to her, his gaze held her own. He was still offering her a smile as he watched her. He wished that there was something else that he could do..but really..at the moment that was it. He had to trust that Ringil would heed his words and leave Reinette alone. If she persisted, he would take greater actions in getting her to leave the Mortal alone.

They still needed to eat and DĂșlinnor had a idea. He released her after a few moments, having given her time to speak. He stood, turning and offering Reinette a hand. "I should very much like to teach you how to make my favorite dessert. You will love it." He was smiling at her as he helped her up. He wished to take her mind off of Ringil, to make sure that she knew that he'd only spoken with the other female because it had needed to be done.

He led the way to the kitchen. Though he could only do little with one hand, he could walk Reinette through the steps easily. He allowed her to start on their meal as he slowly began getting the ingredients that would be needed for the dessert. He then got out A bowl so that they could start working on it once Reinette was at a good point in preparing their meal.

DĂșlinnor was patient, speaking with her as she worked. Once she deemed herself ready, DĂșlinnor began to give her instructions. He stood quite close to her, very little space between them. What he was having her make was simply fruit that had been nearly squished down, providing their juices. It was then added to a white batter and swirled. After that, they had to simply allow the dessert to cook long enough for the batter to become fluffy. "Mother does not make this often. She never liked us eating anything that was considered a dessert." He laughed at this.

He was smiling as he'd spent time with her in the kitchen. He enjoyed teaching her things, seeing her happy. The rest of their meal was ready so the Elf decided that it would be fine if they went ahead and ate. The dessert would be ready when they were done. He sat down only after having told Reinette this and their meal began. He complemented her on the food that she'd prepared and thanked her for it. The meal went as usual, DĂșlinnor continuing to speak happily with Reinette.

Slowly, as they finished eating, DĂșlinnor rose from his seat to retrieve their dessert. He walked back to the table, sitting it down in the middle carefully. There was a serving knife already on the table and he allowed Reinette to do the serving. Only once they both had some did DĂșlinnor begin to eat his. The cake was sweet and the hints of warm fruit juice and the small pieces that had been left in the batter only made it that much better.

His gaze had moved to Reinette, wondering if she liked it. He was curious. "What do you think?" He asked her. He waited for her to speak before he smiled at her. "My grandmother would often make it when Aglaron and I would stay with them when we were younger. She is the one that taught me how to make it." He said with a small smile.

They slowly finished the dessert and DĂșlinnor decided to help Reinette to clean up. He moved a bit slower than her, only able to carry one or two things at a time. They eventually finished and the Elf found himself eyeing Reinette. He moved closer to her. He kissed her forehead, as if thanking her for all that she had been doing for him. He allowed his forehead, then, to rest against hers. He wanted nothing more than to lay down to rest but he also wished to spend time with the young woman before him. His gaze was on her, looking down at her as they were close. He decided to remain that way, waiting, their noses nearly touching.

"I told her that it was her fault for all of our trouble out on the Border that day. Ringil was not pleased with this. She tried to tell me that you were lying and that she would never act in such a way. I then told her that I knew that you were telling nothing but the truth. It was then that I told her that she is not to go anywhere near you, speak to you... anything, lest I find out. She will not bother you. If she does, for some reason, bother you, let me know and I will take care of it for good. I would not see you bothered so by someone such as her."

DĂșlinnor's hand was lightly cupping her cheek at those words. She smiled, pressing her face lightly into his hand as she held his gaze. "I'm glad you stood up for me... I've worried that I would see her in the marketplace since that day, but now... Well, I feel like I can breathe easier. Thank you..." Reinette's own hand surrounded DĂșlinnor's as it was still on her cheek. She closed her eyes, taking in the warmth that his touch provided her.

After a moment, she let his hand pull away, her golden eyes sliding open once more. "I should very much like to teach you how to make my favorite dessert. You will love it." His smile was kind, and he helped her to stand. She kept hold of his hand as they made their way to the kitchen.

They separated long enough for Reinette to prepare their evening meal. DĂșlinnor made his way about the kitchen, but was concientious of where Reinette needed to be to get ingredients or utensils. They actually ended up working rather well together in the kitchen, and before long, she had practically finished making their meal.

From there, she joined DĂșlinnor, who explained the directions on how to make the dessert. Reinette was enjoying the closeness, but also enjoying the ability to make something that DĂșlinnor loved. They laughed together while she made the dessert. "Mother does not make this often. She never liked us eating anything that was considered a dessert."

His laugh caused her to grin. "There's nothing wrong with having dessert every so often... It makes life a little sweeter. But if this tastes as good as it looks, I'm going to get so fat from eating these..." She laughed as she spoke, smiling over at the male Elf beside her.

The two soon began their meal together not long after, Reinette chatting happily with him across the table. It was these everyday moments that she cherished more than anything, these everyday moments that only helped to solidify her feelings for him. She knew she was in way over her head, but she simply couldn't bring herself to care... DĂșlinnor was different. He was unique and there was something about him that drew her to him... Something about him that captivated her.

Eventually, DĂșlinnor brought the dessert that the two had made to the table, placing it in the middle. Reinette served them both a piece, watching as DĂșlinnor took a bite of his. He seemed to really be enjoying it, and so she took a bite of her own. Her eyes widened slightly at the taste - it was really something different, delicious... She'd never had anything like it before. She chewed slowly, really letting all of the flavors come out.

"What do you think?"

Reinette's eyes snapped up at DĂșlinnor from the cake, a smile spreading on her face. She had been so concentrated on tasting the cake that she'd sort of forgotten that anyone was with her.

"It's... it's absolutely divine. I'm going to have to be really careful from here on out, now that I know how to make this... Otherwise I'm going to eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!" She was kidding, but she absolutely loved the cake. It was the right amount of sweetness, with the right amount of tart. She was sure that this had to be the best dessert in all of Middle Earth, but she was afraid to ask, for fear that her figure might be ruined by indulging in even better sweets. She laughed slightly at the thought, smiling at DĂșlinnor.

"My grandmother would often make it when Aglaron and I would stay with them when we were younger. She is the one that taught me how to make it." He had a small smile on his face, and Reinette couldn't help but mirror it. His family had been so kind to her over the past year and a half or so, and she imagined that she would have truly liked his Grandparents.

Together, the two cleaned up after they'd finished eating. Reinette had worked out a system of efficiency that worked for herself when she had been without DĂșlinnor for those 11 months. Having him help only expedited the process, and she was thankful that he cared to help her, even when she inisted that she would be fine on her own. He really was a kind soul... She would sneak glances at him whenever she could, smiling to herself as she cleaned up.

As they finished cleaning, Reinette let out a content sigh, wiping her hands on a towel. She liked the way that the two of them lived together. It scared her to think about it... but she didn't know what she would do without him.

She hadn't noticed him move closer to her until he had already placed a kiss on her forehead. She had to look up to meet his gaze, her own stature much shorter than his was. A smile crept its way onto her face, as she slowly slid her eyes shut momentarily at the feeling of his forehead resting against her own. Even the smallest of his affectionate gestures left butterflies in her stomach.

Opening her eyes then, she was met with his own silver ones. Those eyes had seen so much in such a long time, and she felt like her experiences were dwarfed in comparison to his own. She could get lost in the stories his eyes told, especially in the one about her - his eyes seemed to hold a special look that she had seen given to no other when he looked at her. Smiling, she rose on tiptoe slightly, placing a ghost of a kiss against his lips. Her hands found his free one, and she laced her fingers with his, her eyes sliding open from the kiss to continue to stare into his own.

"You should probably rest soon..." she began, her voice barely a whisper at their closeness. "You need to keep up your strength..." She smiled slightly, her nerves picking up slightly as she said the next thing to come out of her mouth. "You said that it made you feel better to have me around so... If you want me to stay with you tonight... I wouldn't mind." She placed another light kiss against his lips after the words left her mouth. She didn't want to just flat out admit that she wanted to spend the night with him again, but... well, she'd be lying if she said she didn't.

Reinette opened her eyes and DĂșlinnor allowed his own to hold her gaze steadily. Both of them were silent for the time being. He was happy to be so close to her. It seemed that around her that he felt like himself again. It made him happy to think that the woman before him cared for him. Reinette's lips moved lightly over his own and the Elf returned it in the same manner. Her hands came to his free one and he allowed her to take hold of it. He opened his eyes, watching as she did the same.

The Elf offered a smile to the woman as he watched her. Reinette's voice soon broke the silence that had surrounded them for the short moment. "You should probably rest soon. You need to keep up your strength..." He was not surprised at her words. DĂșlinnor knew that Reinette still worried for him. Even though he tried to prove to her that he was doing better, she seemed to see through him. "Probably. Of course, at least I've been able to stay awake longer. I imagine that is a good sign." He said to her softly. "You said that it made you feel better to have me around so... If you want me to stay with you tonight... I wouldn't mind."

Before he could speak, Reinette placed a light kiss against his lips. He found himself, once again, returning the kiss. DĂșlinnor could honestly say that he would be perfectly happy remaining locked with Reinette. He turned his grey eyes to the woman once she'd pulled away completely. He was surprised at her words. He wanted nothing more than to tell her that he needed her to join him yet his mind was telling him that he should not allow it to happen again. He was torn. If his parents found out..he would be in for it. He'd likely never hear the end of it.

Yet, his heart screamed at him. He debated silently as he suddenly leaned into her. He placed a gentle kiss upon her lips, allowing himself to linger for a moment. DĂșlinnor had a small smile on his face as he slowly moved away from her, yet he kept her form close to his own. "That..is an unfair question." He said to her, his face suddenly going a bit more serious. He didn't know if she would understand why he would say such a thing but he was still debating with himself. He was so used to following the rules yet with Reinette..he seemed to find it harder to do so.

The Elf smiled at her then. "I suppose that you've already made up your mind, regardless of what I say. I would not mind for you to join me if it is what you wish. In fact, I would welcome your company." He captured her lips again, this time a bit more firm than before. He did not allow it too last overly long. As he pulled from her he turned. "I see you soon?" He asked Reinette before he continued on through the home.

He soon came to his bedroom and entered. The Elf made his way throughout the rather large room. The first thing he did was remove the sling, sitting it off to the side and out of the way. Then, he was quick to change out of his clothing, putting on his normal sleepwear. Once he was ready, DĂșlinnor turned the bed down and went ahead and got in, getting comfortable.

A short time later Reinette entered the room. The Elf waited for her to join him in the bed before he turned over, gently sliding his injured arm about her waist as he'd done that morning. He could not lay on his left arm but it did not bother him to lift it slightly. He allowed himself to lay rather close to her, his face near her neck. "We will more than likely have to visit with my parents before Aglaron leaves for the Border. I have also promised my brother that we shall watch over Thurilsotel and Bregolon. He worries for them."

He went silent for a moment, gently placing a kiss on her shoulder. DĂșlinnor then allowed himself to relax. Having her near still seemed to help him. He found it easier to begin falling asleep though he tried to fight it for several minutes. "You know, if you are not careful I will begin to expect you to join me in bed." He said softly, sleep beginning to enter his voice. He was aware long enough for her to speak if she wished.

The following morning, DĂșlinnor woke earlier the day before. However, he decided to remain laying in the bed with Reinette. He enjoyed far too much waking up wrapped about her form. She seemed to still be asleep. He watched her for a long moment, simply memorizing her beauty. He was unsure of how long he remained that way before he leaned down, gently placing a light kiss upon her shoulder. He allowed his lips to linger for a moment before slowly moving his lips up the slope of the rest of her shoulder and then to her neck.

He was smiling at her as he waited for her to awaken. DĂșlinnor kept his arm about her, content. "Good morning." He said, only once he was certain that she was awake. He made no move to get up, simply allowing himself to relax once again. "Would it be horrible to just stay in bed all day?" He asked her with a light laugh on his voice. Of course, they could not. Yet, the idea was one that he would have loved to do if they did not have things to get done.

DĂșlinnor was pressing another kiss against her mouth, his body leaning into her own. He was smiling as he pulled away, though he looked more serious as he spoke. "That... is an unfair question." She knew he was right, knew it probably wasn't fair of her to ask such things of him. Earth and Middle Earth were different in their customs, that was for certain. And Elves were probably different from men... She hadn't had the chance to meet any of Middle Earth's Men, but she imagined she might find the change in personality severely different in comparison to that of the Elves. After living among them her entire time in Middle Earth, being around anyone else might be... a shock to the system, to say the least.

But DĂșlinnor was smiling at her once more. "I suppose that you've already made up your mind, regardless of what I say. I would not mind for you to join me if it is what you wish. In fact, I would welcome your company." She was smiling at his words, glad that he wanted her to join him. He pulled her into a kiss once more, her breath failing to reach her lungs. She couldn't care less, almost losing herself in the kiss before he pulled away to speak. "I see you soon?"

She nodded, a silly little smile on her face. As he walked away, she let out her breath before greedily taking another. She silently laughed to herself at her actions - sometimes, she forgot she was an adult, and not some love-struck teenager.

She made her way to her room, closing her door behind her before unlacing herself out of her dress and slipping the fabric from her body. She slipped into a new bottom of underclothes. Finding her nightdress, she slipped the silken fabric onto her skin, loving the way it felt against her - honestly, if she could just wear that dress all the time, she absolutely would.

She soon made her way from her room, humming lightly to herself as she moved throughout the flet. She came to DĂșlinnor's door a moment later, her fist pausing in front of the threshold as if questioning her next move. She bit her lip lightly, before knocking three times. She then pushed open the door slowly, in case he weren't dressed. When no protest or startled sound was heard from the other side, she assumed he was decent, so she entered.

He was waiting for her in the bed, and she smiled as she entered, taking in the expanse before her. It was beautiful room - a bit neater than her own, not that hers was especially messy. She just approached her decor like an empty canvas, waiting for her to fill it with color. DĂșlinnor's room was more like his personality - more clean cut, more in line, more orderly. She appreciated that about him, though she felt a twinge of guilt at probably pushing him a bit past his comfort zone by flat out asking to spend the night in his bed.

She approached the side of the bed, her eyes turning around his room, his eyes on her form. Finally at the edge of the bed, she turned to face him, smiling at him as she climbed into it. She slid under the covers, getting comfortable, before she felt a familiar arm snake around her waist. She could feel his steady breath on the back of her neck, a tingle moving through her blood at the feeling. "We will more than likely have to visit with my parents before Aglaron leaves for the border. I have also promised my brother that we shall watch over Thurilostel and Bregolon. He worries for them."

Reinette frowned slightly; worry for Aglaron crept into her heart. She had felt the abosolute terror when she had run into those Orcs. She wondered how they all didn't feel the same. She knew that she could never do anything close to what the Wardens were expected to do... Not unless she had an AK-47 and some anti-aircraft missiles. But DĂșlinnor's hand on her hip centered her, reminded her that he was still there, even after getting shot with a poisoned arrow. Aglaron was trained to do these things, so he'd be okay, too, because he'd be on alert.

She knew that Thuri would worry. And she knew that even though Bregolon was young, he would miss his father. "I don't mind visiting your parents," she said after a moment of silence. "And I'll always do whatever I can to keep Thurilostel positive. Plus, Bregolon is adorable, so any excuse to visit him is a good one..." She smiled, settling back more into his chest.

His lips against her shoulder left goosebumps behind, a shiver running through her. "You know, if you are not careful I will begin to expect you to join me in bed." He sounded tired, but the way his voice touched her ear made her heart skip a beat. She wondered brielfly if he knew exactly what he did to her body, to her brain. Her voice was slightly shaky as she answered him, but she was honest in her words.

"That's... okay. Maybe I..." She paused. 'Maybe I want to be here...' she thought to herself. After a pause, she spoke again, this time with more confidence in her voice. "Maybe I'd be okay with that."

A lot of things were going through her mind then. 'Maybe I'd spend every night with you in your bed...' Her hand slid against his at the thought, noting the way it had slackened a bit. He'd fallen asleep. She smiled lightly at the realization, before settling more into the bed. Her thoughts drifted between topics as she felt sleep begin to call to her. Marriage, children. Stupid stuff, like missing Coke-a-Cola more than any sane person ought to. She wondered briefly what Earth was like without her presence there, before she fell asleep.

Adam Levine was standing in the sitting room, except for the sitting room was made out of clouds and there was unicorn staring at her through the cloud-window. Reinette questioned none of this, instead making artful comments as DĂșlinnor painted a picture - Adam was the subject, and in his hand he was holding a rubber duck, while balancing an apple on his head. He was wearing plaid lederhosen, and looked absolutely hipster.

Bregolon was about twenty stories tall, and he was eating the trees as if they were broccoli. Reinette laughed, kicking up a puff of the cloud-floor as Thurilostel floated by, reading a book as if nothing were happening.

For whatever reason, this all made sense. Even though absolutely none of it made sense.

The feeling of lips against her neck brought Reinette out of the dream world she was so previously absorbed into. Her eyes opened slowly, quickly shutting again at the brightness of the room for a moment before reopening. Blinking groggily, she rolled slightly toward her back, noting that DĂșlinnor was above her. He was looking down at her from a slightly elevated position, a smile in his eyes. "Good morning."

She smiled at him a bit stupidly - granted, she was still sort of half asleep, but she giggled anyway. "Good morning..." She answered back, her voice a slight whisper from sleep.

"Would it be horrible to just stay in bed all day?"

Reinette looked about her for a moment, remembering that she'd spent the night with DĂșlinnor in his room. Looking back at him, she shook her head lightly. "I don't think so. Lazy days are the best..." She pecked him lightly on the cheek, before laughing. "I had the weirdest dream... Your house was made of clouds, Bregolon was a giant, and Adam Levine was wearing lederhosen." She knew that practically none of that would make any sense to him, but she couldn't help the fit of giggles that burst from her. "I know that sounds weird, and that you don't know who Adam Levine is or what lederhosen are, but trust me... It was funny."

Her eyes practically sparkled in the morning sun, the gold in her iris reflecting the light.

DĂșlinnor simply gazed at Reinette as she answered him. "I don't think so. Lazy days are the best..." She placed a light kiss upon his cheek before she was laughing. "I had the weirdest dream... Your house was made of clouds, Bregolon was a giant, and Adam Levine was wearing lederhosen. I know that sounds weird, and that you don't know who Adam Levine is or what lederhosen are, but trust me... It was funny." DĂșlinnor was smiling down at her as he listened. He had absolutely no clue about a few of the things she mentioned though he believed her when she told him that it was funny.

When she fell silent, DĂșlinnor spoke with a light laugh on his voice. "You are odd." Words that he'd spoken to her before. He took in her image, noting how beautiful she looked in the morning light. He was drawn to her in such a strange way. It was something that was new for him. Even with Arneth he'd not felt such a strong pull. He couldn't help but wonder what was so different about Reinette.

Though he was unable to fully understand, he did know that he felt deeply about the young woman that was currently laying in his bed. The Elf leaned closer to Reinette, placing a kiss softly to her jawline. "As much as I would love nothing more than to remain here with you, we should probably get up." He slowly moved, trying not to stress his left shoulder too much. He remained sitting in the bed for a moment longer, his gaze on Reinette. "We will need to go into the market to do some shopping. We are running low on a few things. After that, I believe that if you'd like, we could visit with the horses. I fear that Suldal will be worried. After that...I am more than happy to do whatever you wish."

He watched her for a rather long time, or at least what seemed like it. He could not get ready until she went to her own room. Only as she rose and made to leave did the Elf finally rise from the bed, telling the young woman that he would join her shortly so that they could eat and then get their day underway.

One Week Later

Aglaron's week seemed to pass by much too quickly. During the week, the family had spent a bit more time together than usual and DĂșlinnor knew that everyone was worrying for the eldest of the brothers. Everyone within the city seemed to be more on edge than normal, as if the growing darkness was trying to seep its way into the Forest. However, DĂșlinnor did his best to ignore this. He would not allow such a thing to bother him. At least not until he was able to return to the Borders.

He'd made some improvement, his wound was no longer purplish in color but was slowly changing back to his normal skin color. He was also able to move his arm more without the sharp pain that he'd had to endure. He had to admit that he was rather glad to finally be making improvements. Reinette was also, he suspected. She worried for him..that much he knew. No matter how much he tried to prove to her that her worry was not needed.

That morning, DĂșlinnor had gotten up much earlier than Reinette. He'd not been able to sleep much knowing that Aglaron was leaving that day. He'd spent much of the early hours on the roof, simply watching as light slowly began to make its way to the Elven Realm. He knew that with every day that he was slowly getting better meant a day closer to when he would most likely be sent from Reinette once again.

During his time spent with her, he only found himself becoming more and more attached to her. It scared him to think about. He had a feeling..one that made him believe that her time there was limited though he never spoke of this to her. He'd decided that no matter how much it would kill him when the time came for her to leave that he would enjoy what time they did have together. He sighed softly before getting up from his spoke and making his way slowly down the ladder. If Reinette knew that he'd gone up..and without his sling on..he'd no doubt never hear the end of it.

He was due to visit the Healers that day, to make sure that nothing was going wrong and hopefully he could lose the sling. He was tired of having to wear it all of the time. He was quiet as he made his way through the home. He had allowed the Mortal to stay with him in his room when she had wished it during the week. He'd found that it did not bother him nearly as much as it should have every time that they shared a bed.

DĂșlinnor made his way to the kitchen and began working on their morning meal. They would likely not see Aglaron off, having visited with the older Elves the night before with his parents. They had returned to the flet later than they normally did and the male Elf wished to allow Reinette to sleep as long as she wished. He moved about the kitchen, gathering a few different things and then began his task.

He worked more slowly than he normally did, taking his time. It did not take long, though, for the smells to begin wafting through the flet. He was in a fairly good mood regardless of the sadness of Aglaron's departure. Setting the table, the Elf then went ahead and served out the food, making sure that everything was how he wanted it. Only then did he head through the flet, looking for Reinette.

Entering into the room that she was in, he walked quietly towards the bed that she was in. He then moved onto the mattress and then leaned over her, placing a light kiss on her lips. It was a quick kiss but was quickly followed by another, more lingering one. He continued this way until she awoke. DĂșlinnor smiled down at the woman. "I have the meal ready if you would like to join me." His voice was soft and he waited for her to answer before placing another kiss on her lips.

He then got out of the bed and left her so that she could get dressed. He made his way back to the kitchen and poured them each a drink before taking a seat. As always, he waited for her to join him before he began to eat. They chatted as usual though DĂșlinnor wondered if Reinette knew that he'd had little sleep the night before. He'd decided not to speak of it unless she brought it up. "Maybe it would be wise for you to visit with Thurilostel while I am at the Healers? I imagine that your presence will do her good this day." He suddenly said, his grey eyes locking onto her gold ones.

"You are odd."

Those words again. Reinette smiled, laughter in her eyes. She giggled lightly, nodding slightly. "Thank you very much..." She grinned then, watching the man above her. He leaned down toward her, running a soft kiss against her jawline. She hummed contently at the feeling, before he spoke again.

"As much as I would love nothing more than to remain here with you, we should probably get up. We will need to go into the market to do some shopping. We are running low on a few things. After that, I believe that if you'd like, we could visit with the horses. I fear that Suldal will be worried. After that... I am more than happy to do whatever you wish."

Reinette smiled at him, watching the way that his mouth moved as he spoke. Eventually, she rose from the bed, making her way toward the doorway, answering him appropriately when he spoke that he would join her shortly.

Reinette could practically feel the tinge of nervous energy from the inhabitants of Caras Galadhon over the past week... Like they could feel the approach of something evil.

She admittedly could not feel the same feeling, but there was the creepings of worry beginning to crawl inside of her. She was thankful, though, that DĂșlinnor seemed to be making a great improvement in his health. His wound was looking less angry every day, and she was thankful for the healing. Elves were fascinating creatures - she knew that the same wound would have killed her, which terrified her when she thought about it. But here DĂșlinnor was, his body rebuilding itself from something that would have taken the life of any mortal that received the same wound.

Sometimes, it was things like this that reminded her how different they were.

She knew she had the right look to fit in. Maybe she was a bit short, but she could look the part. She was beginning to be able to speak the part, too. But she'd never truly be like him - sometimes she hated her mind for bringing such thoughts to the forefront.

But DĂșlinnor had a way of comforting her that no one she had ever met before had. She was also pretty sure that she had fallen hard for the Elf. She was still scared to call it love, though; she was sure that once she said it, it would somehow make it more real than it already was... She had never felt like this before, and was afraid of what would come next. Somewhere in her mind, a voice told her that no matter what came next, DĂșlinnor would be there for her. And she believed that voice, but she still couldn't help but worry...

She'd spent more time sharing a bed with DĂșlinnor that week as well. One of the nights she'd spent by herself in her own bed, a nightmare had plagued her. Unbeknownst to her, she had dreamt of the eye of Sauron. In terror, she had awoken, but could no longer remember the dream that had caused her to bolt up in bed as soon as her eyes had opened. After that, she'd crawled into bed with DĂșlinnor, and had asked to sleep with him on multiple occasions after. It didn't matter which bed, and they'd traded off every so often.

It had become rather comforting for her, and a feeling had settled into her that told her she was supposed to be there with him, supposed to be wrapped up in his embrace as they slept. She knew it was unorthodox, knew it from the very beginning. But it was becoming harder and harder to say no, harder and harder to resist the pull to curl up beside him, wake up beside him...

Reinette had been sleeping peacefully, unawares that DĂșlinnor had left her that morning. But he had been making breakfast later, coming to wake her after. His kisses slowly pulled her from her dreamless sleep, her mouth responding to his once her wits were more about her. Soon, his lips were pulling away, and her smile reflected his own. "I have the meal ready if you would like to join me."

She hummed lightly in response, stretching much like a cat, before properly answering. "I'd love to... Thanks for making breakfast." The scent of it was floating through the house. She gladly accepted the kiss he offered to her, soon sliding from the bed to stand and make her way with him towards the kitchen. She made a slight detour to her room, quickly sliding out of her nightgown and into something appropriate for the day, before fully joining him in the kitchen.

They ate together as they normally did, talking and laughing about whatever came to their minds. DĂșlinnor seemed slightly different though, a bit less full of energy than normal. Reinette assumed it was due to the fact that his brother was departing for the Borders again, and he wasn't going with him. Eventually, DĂșlinnor spoke about the days plans. "Maybe it would be wise for you to visit with Thurilostel while I am at the Healers? I imagine that your presence will do her good this day."

Reinette knew these words to be true, and so she nodded. "Thurilostel is probably beside herself with worry... I can only imagine how hard this must be for her..." There were the unspoken words floating in the air as well - sooner than later, when DĂșlinnor's injuries were fully healed, she too would know exactly how Thurilostel felt.

Reinette took it upon herself to clean up after the meal, insisting that DĂșlinnor rest his arm more, because he was making such progress. "You have to go to the Healers today... I don't want you to mess something up and have them think you've not been taking care of your arm..." She was smiling at him, but there was seriousness in her words - she wasn't going to let him help this time, no matter how much he tried. It didn't take her long to finish clearing everything, cleaning it and putting it away.

She made her way to her room, gathering things she might need for the day in her satchel, before meeting DĂșlinnor in the sitting room. She placed her bag upon one of the chairs, turning to him with a smile, before approaching him and placing a kiss against his lips. "I'm glad that your shoulder is making such progress..." Reinette began after a moment, her hand finding his. She laced her fingers through his, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze, though it was more for herself - those unspoken words from before still floated in the air, the words she had spoken tinted with the feeling of future sadness at the fact that one day, he would have to leave her again.

Grey eyes watched Reinette as she spoke. "Thurilostel is probably beside herself with worry... I can only imagine how hard this must be for her..." DĂșlinnor could almost hear her unspoken words and it made him look back down at his plate. He did not want to think about leaving her yet he still had a duty to his people, his realm. No matter how he felt, he would always answer the call. At least, he still had some time before they would have to worry about him leaving. Once his wound was healed he would still have to spend quite a bit of time training in order to make sure that he was in top shape before heading out.

DĂșlinnor, once they were both finished eating, moved as if to begin cleaning up. However, Reinette was quicker and was soon insisting that he rest. He'd been about to argue with her, to tell her that he was perfectly fine to help out when she spoke. "You have to go to the Healers today... I don't want you to mess something up and have them think you've not been taking care of your arm..." He returned her smile, understanding that she was only trying to look out for him. "If you insist though I am perfectly capable of helping." He said, rising from his seat.

The Elf excused himself from the room, knowing that Reinette would soon be done, and made his way through the home and to his room. Finding his sling, he went ahead and put it back on. He knew that it was best to have it on when he went to the Healers. Heading back through the home, he entered into the sitting room, waiting for Reinette. Only a moment later she entered the room. Turning his eyes to her, he watched her as she went about sitting her bag down and then approached him.

A kiss was placed upon his lips and he allowed himself to return it in full. It did not last long, soon they parted and the young woman spoke. "I'm glad that your shoulder is making such progress..." DĂșlinnor smiled at her words, feeling her taking his good hand. She gave his hand a squeeze and DĂșlinnor gently pulled her a bit closer to him. He placed a kiss upon her forehead. "As am I," He said as he gazed down at her. "Though, I must admit that I do not look forward to leaving again. However, I would not have you worry. You will have me around for some time as even when I am fully healed it is required that I prove that I'm fully capable in the field."

He'd felt the need to tell her that. To reassure her that it would still be a while before he would have to return. He offered her a reassuring smile. "Besides, who knows what the future holds.." He released her then, turning towards the door. "Come. We should get going." He made his way to the door, opening it and then waiting for Reinette to exit before following her. Once outside, he offered her his arm. They would not walk for long together but DĂșlinnor wanted her near until they had to part ways.

As they walked down the stairs, DĂșlinnor was a bit more silent. He was beginning to regret not getting much sleep. It did not seem like it took them long to reach the market. It was there that DĂșlinnor turned to Reinette as he brought them to a stop. "I will join you later at Thurilostel's, as soon as I am done." He wanted to kiss her then though held back. Though he'd allowed her in his bed..he could not break on this. Instead, he placed his free hand over his heart, his head slightly bowed, and then moved the hand out towards Reinette.

DĂșlinnor then left her side, making his way through the city. He'd decided to take his time, allowing the women at least some time together. The day was lovely and many were out and enjoying the day already. The Elf passed quite a few people along his route and a few greeted him. He had not spent much time out in the city since he'd been injured and it was nice to be able to do so now.

At last, DĂșlinnor arrived at his destination. He entered the building and within a moment one of the Elves inside had come to him to see what he was needing. He told them, and the female led him back to one of the rooms. DĂșlinnor entered and thanked her. The door was closed behind him and the Elf took a seat on the small bed that sat in the middle of the room. He suspected that he would have to wait for a bit and this ended up being true. This only happened when there were quite a few new patients that needed seeing immediately.

He was unsure of how long he had to wait but it definitely felt like a good while before a male Healer entered the room. "I am sorry for keeping you waiting. We've gotten a bit busier..what with everything that's been going on out at the Borders. Now, lets take a look at your shoulder." DĂșlinnor allowed the male to remove the sling and then he removed his tunic himself. Then, the Healer moved close once again, beginning to poke and prod the wound, and then checking his progress.

DĂșlinnor was asked a few different questions, such as how much pain he was in and the like. At one point, the Healer had him moving his arm as high as he could with little pain. He was still unable to lift his arm above his head but he was making progress. After the examination, the Healer spoke. "I believe that the poison is nearly out of your system which will allow your body to begin healing more normally. It is good that you are in little pain. As such, I believe that you can start having your bandages changed once a day. Also, so long as you are not overexerting yourself, you can go without the sling now. Just make sure that you are still taking it easy. You will need to come back only once you are no longer in any pain. Just so that we can make sure that your shoulder is fully healed."

He then finished up with DĂșlinnor and left him. The male Elf then redressed, leaving the sling. He was determined not to wear it anymore. Once he was certain that he was presentable did he exit the room and head back the way he'd come. It did not take him long to reach the spot where he'd left Reinette earlier that morning. He did not stop, continuing on along the route to his brother's home. He hoped that Aglaron would take care of himself. The dangers that were now coming at them..it worried DĂșlinnor to think that he was not there to watch the older Elf's back. Yet, he could do nothing about that at the moment.

As he finally reached the home, he knocked on the door before he entered. He made his way to where the others were and he greeted Thurilostel and then Bregolon before turning his gaze to Reinette. He offered her a small smile before he took a seat, joining them. He knew that they would likely want to know what the Healer had said though decided to wait a few moments before he told them. "And just what have you three been doing all morning?" He asked, his gaze shifting between the two women.

"As am I."

DĂșlinnor was placing a kiss upon her forehead, and she smiled at the contact. "Though, I must admit that I do not look forward to leaving again. However, I would not have you worry. You will have me around for some time as even when I am fully healed it is required that I prove that I'm fully capable in the field. Besides, who knows what the future holds... Come. We should get going."

He'd offered her a reassuring smile, and she heard the truth in his words. She ought not to worry, she figured. But she thought about his last sentence, about what the future held... None of them had heard anything from the Lady Galadriel, and none of them knew if she'd made progress or if there was nothing to be done. The thought of leaving DĂșlinnor, of returning to Earth, entered her brain. And it frightened her. She frowned as his back had turned to approach the door. She'd been living each day as if this were her total reality - as it stood, that was the case. But what if things changed? She hadn't thought about returning to Earth in quite some time, and that fact alone in itself scared her. She didn't know what to think about it all, her emotions on the subject such a jumbled mess.

DĂșlinnor turned back to look at her as he opened the door to the flet, and Reinette was quick to put a smile back on her face. It was probably best not to worry him about such things. She had faith in the Lady Galadriel, but there was this small voice in her head that was wishing that no way would be found, so she wouldn't have to make such a decision.

Reinette made her way through the door, and took his arm once outside as they always did. They began their walk, eventually ending up at the marketplace. "I will join you later at Thurilostel's, as soon as I am done." DĂșlinnor had said. He offered her the movement in departure that Reinette had seen Aglaron give to Thurilostel many times before. Every time she'd seen it offered, it had been between two Elves who seemed to have a very close relationship - be it married, related, or someone held dear.

She couldn't help the smile at the gesture, and she offered him a small wave in goodbye, a tiny blush against her cheeks. They departed from one another then, DĂșlinnor heading off toward the Healers and Reinette beginning in the direction of Aglaron's flet.

It was not a long walk for Reinette. She had seen Ringil along the way, and it was obvious the female had seen her as well - it was weird seeing a smile offered to the Mortal by the Elf who disliked her so much. Reinette got the feeling that something wasn't entirely right about the smile, but she offered her one in return, if only to show her good will.

She soon was at the threshold of Aglaron's flet, and she knocked a few times before the door opened. Thurilostel stood at the other side, offering the woman a smile when she saw who it was. "Reinette, please come inside." Reinette stepped into the home, noting that Bregolon was racing around after one of his toys that had rolled away from him. She smiled at the sight, turning to offer Thurilostel a hug. The Elven woman accepted it most gratefully, pulling away after a moment to regard Reinette, before offering her a seat.

The women chatted for a few minutes, before Bregolon climbed up on his mothers lap. He announced that he wanted to go outside to play, and Thuri couldn't help but chuckle. "We may go if Lady Reinette would like to attend."

Bregolon was learning his Westron very well, and turned to look at Reinette. He offered her the biggest puppy-dog eyes he could possibly muster, and smiled at her. "ThĂȘl einior, may we please?"

Reinette couldn't help but smile - he'd been calling her elder sister for some time, and it warmed her heart every time he used the familiar phrase. She nodded, "Of course..." Sometimes, it still had her absolutely astonished at the difference between Elven children's development, and the development of Human children...

Bregolon's face lit up, and Thurilostel could only smile. Together, the two women took Bregolon out, and walked around the city with him that day, letting his little imagination wander as he played. Eventually, the young child began to tire, and begged for his mother to carry him home. She did, cuddling his smaller body against her own, Reinette getting the door to the flet once they'd finally made their way back so that Thuri could carefully enter without fear of dropping the child.

He'd crawled out of her lap once she'd sat down, insistent that he wasn't tired. But from the way he played on the floor, Reinette could tell that he was simply fighting the urge to ball up and fall asleep. She smiled at his resilience.

"Bregolon," she began, and he looked over at her with tired eyes. "Would you like it if your thĂȘl einior told you a story?" His eyes lit up at the suggestion, and he smiled enthusiastically, crawling back onto his mothers lap as Reinette settled onto the couch beside the two.

Thurilostel looked pleased at the suggestion, as Reinette began to speak. "Once upon a time, in a far away land among the stars, there lived a Princess." Bregolon seemed thoroughly pleased at the topic, curling up slightly to get more comfortable in Thurilostel's embrace.

"The Princess would look at the stars every night, and wish for change - her kingdom was at war, and the hearts of the people around her turned black with each passing day. But one day, a star spoke to her, and invited her to a place much different from her own land. She traveled across a rainbow passage between her world and the other, and the star gave her the magic power to heal the hearts of her people. When she arrived at the new world, she found herself in a forest, one much like your own home." He seemed rather excited that a Princess would want to travel to Caras Galadhon, and Reinette couldn't help but smile. "She got lost, until a Prince of the land who happened to be out walking found her and rescued her. She lived among his people, learning what it meant to have a pure heart. Everything she learned reflected back across the rainbow bridge, and slowly changed the hearts of her people to good; they began to call her the Star Princess, and sing songs of her good deeds. She could hear the songs they sung even so far away as she was. She became legend to them, the Star Princess who had saved their land from evil. But she could not leave the Prince behind, for she had fallen in love with the land and the people. So she built a home at the top of the tallest tree, so she could whisper across the rainbow bridge of the goodness within her heart, and continue to help her people, even so far away."

Bregolon's small voice spoke up after a moment, his body clearly tired. "ThĂȘl einior, did the Star Princess live happily ever after?" His small eyes were as wide as they could get, and it was still obvious that he was fighting sleep.

"Of course, Bregolon. She lived happily ever after..." Reinette had told him many stories before, and she found it interesting that he had asked about 'living happily every after', something she usually threw into the end of all her stories. He seemed rather content with that answer, and snuggled more into his mother.

The women chatted quietly for a short while longer as Bregolon napped, before the young child finally woke, squirming to get off of his mother and play once more. He told Reinette that he was going to build the house of the Star Princess out of the blocks he had, and set to work on creating his little masterpiece straight away.

Not too long after the child began his little endeavor, there was a knock at the door. DĂșlinnor entered not a moment later, and Reinette smiled. DĂșlinnor greeted both Thurilostel and Bregolon, before he took a seat next to Reinette. She returned his small smile, glad for his presence once more. She had noticed almost immediately that he wasn't wearing his sling anymore, and she assumed that he had good news for them. But he asked them another question instead, and Reinette smiled. "And just what have you three been doing all morning?"

But Bregolon's voice was the first to speak up, Elvish words coming from his mouth, most of which Reinette understood.

"We went for a walk and now I'm building the Star Princess her home!" He sounded super enthusiastic, and set back to working on his little construction job immediately, blocking out all of the rest of their words as he concentrated on his task he had assigned himself.

Reinette giggled, turning to look at DĂșlinnor. "We went for a walk at Bregolon's insistence, and then we came home when he was tired. But he wanted a story, so I told him about a Star Princess who whispers good deeds across the Universe. And now he decided to build her house." Thurilostel was smiling at Reinette's words, looking after her son with love in her eyes.

"DĂșlinnor," Thuri spoke up after a moment. "Please, tell us what the Healers have said of your injury. I am most eager to know of your recovery." Reinette nodded in agreement, looking toward DĂșlinnor with an encouraging smile on her face.

Bregolon's young voice was the first to answer DĂșlinnor. "We went for a walk and now I'm building the Star Princess her home!" The sound of the child's voice caused DĂșlinnor to smile at him and for a moment, the older Elf watched as Bregolon went about his task of building the home he'd spoken of. DĂșlinnor was unsure of what sort of princess that he was speaking of. Next to him, Reinette giggled and he turned his gaze to her. "We went for a walk at Bregolon's insistence, and then we came home when he was tired. But he wanted a story, so I told him about a Star Princess who whispers good deeds across the Universe. And now he decided to build her house." She explained.

"Ah, that makes more sense then. It certainly sounds as if you two have been kept busy." He said with a light laugh on his voice. He went silent after that, simply watching as Bregolon continued with his building. "DĂșlinnor, please, tell us what the Healers have said of your injury. I am most eager to know of your recovery." Thurilostel said after a moment. Both womens' eyes were on him, waiting for his answer.

"They believe that the poison is nearly out of my system. This will improve my healing quite a bit. However, they were unsure of still of how long it will take before I am fully healed. The bandages can be changed only once a day now, instead of three. I am still to rest as much as possible and make sure that I'm not doing anything that can stress my shoulder. I only have to go back once I've no more pain and that is just to make sure that I am healed. After that I shall be able to start training.." He didn't finish the thought. Once his training was finished and he was approved fit for duty once again, he'd be back at the Borders.

He would also need a new bow before he began training. Since he would be using a new bow, he wished to use it for a while before heading out. He still had some time before he really needed to worry. DĂșlinnor just hated bringing up anything that had to do with with the possibility of him leaving. Reinette..he was unsure of how the young woman would handle it once the time came for him to leave her.

They remained with Thurilostel for much of the day. DĂșlinnor was more than happy to indulge Bregolon, the young Elf wanting to hear stories of his time out at the Borders or of different places that were located in their world. At one point, Bregolon had even gotten the older male to the floor, playing with a few toys that Bregolon wished to play with. DĂșlinnor had not been able to spend very much time with his Nephew since he'd been injured and the little boy was excited to be able to do so now.

Only as the hour was beginning to draw a bit later did DĂșlinnor finally suggest that he and Reinette should be leaving. Bregolon was not pleased at this. "But why? Can't you stay just a bit longer? Please?" The little boy asked, turning his eyes to Reinette. "No, Bregolon. But do not worry. You will see us soon enough. Besides, you've got to take care of your Mother. You wouldn't want your Father coming home to find out that you had help, do you?"

At DĂșlinnor's words, Bregolon's eyes widened a bit. Of course he didn't want his Father thinking that he couldn't take care of his Mother while he was away. DĂșlinnor smiled as he rose, the little boy quickly pulling himself up and hugging the other male Elf about the leg and then moved to Reinette. DĂșlinnor then moved, bidding Thurilostel a good evening as well. Only once Reinette had said her goodbyes did he move, heading towards the door slowly. He knew that he did not wish to bother Thurilostel too much or she'd know that Aglaron had asked him to keep an eye on them.

After they'd exited the flet, DĂșlinnor offered the Mortal woman his arm and kept her close to him. He began leading the way back to his flet. "I was thinking that tomorrow we could spend the day together. If you are free." He said, smiling at the woman at his side. "I should bery much like to get out at least for part of the day. Is there anything that you would like to do?" He asked her as they continued to walk.

It was only a short while later that they arrived at the flet. DĂșlinnor opened the door this time, smiling as he waited for Reinette to enter before he followed her in. She'd done so much for him during the time that he'd been unable to truly care for himself. He wished to repay her though could not think of a fitting way to do so. It was something that he would have to think on further. For now, he could at least make her something to eat.

"I will take care of the meal, if you will allow me." He said, gently pulling the woman closer to him. He placed a kiss, lightly upon her lips, lingering for only a short moment before he pulled away. DĂșlinnor had then left Reinette's side and had headed into the kitchen. He set about the task of fixing them something to eat, happy to actually be allowed to do so.

It did not take him long and when it was ready he sought out Reinette to tell her as much. He then joined her in walking back to the kitchen so that they could eat. He pulled her seat out for her before he took his own. It went about as usual. DĂșlinnor was in a rather good mood and it showed as they joked and talked.

As the meal came to a close, DĂșlinnor offered to help Reinette with the cleanup. He remained close to her when they were washing the dishes. He rather enjoyed their time together. He just simply could not shake the feeling that something was going to change..and soon. It didn't help that he was starting to realize that his feelings for Reinette ran deeper and stronger than he would ever admit to anyone. He feared..that he loved her. He wasn't even sure if she felt so strongly for him. He glanced at her, regarding her for a moment. "Perhaps you would like to join me on the roof? I am certain that we will be able to see the stars tonight."

After that I shall be able to start training..."

Reinette was glad that DĂșlinnor was making such progress, and was glad that the Healers seemed to see the progress he was making. But knowing that also brought back the realization that DĂșlinnor heading back to the Borders was on the horizon.

But Reinette turned her mind from such thoughts, concentrating on their conversations at hand. They spent much of the rest of the day with Thurilostel and Bregolon. Reinette couldn't help the smile that spread on her face when Bregolon would beg DĂșlinnor to tell him of his 'adventures' at the Borders. She even listened, content to hear his soothing voice, even if he did speak of some battles that worried her slightly. But he was with her now, so she knew that she didn't have to worry as much as she always did... Bregolon was even able to convince DĂșlinnor to play with him on the floor, and Reinette had giggled lightly to herself before turning to chat quietly with Thurilostel.

Eventually, though, their time with the other Elves had to draw to a close. DĂșlinnor made the announcement that it was probably time for Reinette and himself to head home. Bregolon protested valliantly, even trying to puppy-dog-eye Reinette into staying, but DĂșlinnor was insistent, promising to soon see the young boy. Reinette crouched down after Bregolon had finished hugging his uncle, wrapping her arms around the young Elven child who returned her hug in the tightest squeeze his small body could muster.

Once he let go - only after insisting that she return soon and tell him more stories - did Reinette move to Thurilostel, offering the Elven woman a reassuring hug. Thuri seemed thankful, and insisted that Reinette come to visit (and bring DĂșlinnor if he was available) whenever she next could. She agreed, before following DĂșlinnor out of the flet.

Reinette took his arm, walking close with the male as they made their way toward his flet. "I was thinking that tomorrow we could spend the day together. If you are free. I should very much like to get out at least for part of the day. Is there anything that you would like to do?" Reinette smiled at his words, glancing over at him as they walked.

"I'd love to spend the day together. I was hoping to go to the market - there are a few things that I need to browse for, but I doubt it will take me much time." In reality, she had been thinking about when the best time to approach someone about the bow she had in mind for DĂșlinnor was. Thurilostel had told her of a man who made beautiful sculpted weaponry, of whom would do the best job of recreating the bow that Reinette had drawn. She wanted the chance to step away from DĂșlinnor to speak to him, without alerting the male as to what she was doing. If she was presented the opportunity, she would take it - but she wasn't above sneaking away at some ungodly early time in the morning to do so either...

They soon arrived, entering as they used to before DĂșlinnor's injury. Reinette smiled at the gesture, glad that he could return to opening the door for her, something he always insisted upon doing. It had actually seemed to bum the male out when he wasn't truly able to do it without risk of hurting his arm.

"I will take care of the meal, if you will allow me." He pulled her close to him, and she met his eyes. She wanted to protest, to continue to take care of him. But he looked so determined to be able to finally take more care of himself, and she dared not to take that away from him. So instead she smiled, nodding.

"I'd love that..." She truly did love his cooking, loved the feeling that he was cooking just for her. He kissed her lightly, lingering momentarily as she returned the gesture, a smile on her lips as she did so. And then he was heading into the kitchen to ready the meal, and Reinette was wandering to the bookshelves to find something else to read and begin translating.

She didn't get terribly far into the book, before DĂșlinnor was coming to tell her that their meal was ready. Together, they walked to the kitchen to eat. He pulled her seat out, Reinette blushing slightly at the gesture. It had been so long since he'd been able to dote on her like this, and she was reminded again just how much of a gentleman he truly was. The pair laughed and chatted as they ate, and Reinette couldn't help the warm feeling that spread through her body.

The two cleaned up together, standing close together as they worked side by side. Reinette felt the warmth in her cheeks every time they would brush against the other; she couldn't help but think about the nights spent in his bed, or the nights he spent in hers, curled around her form. DĂșlinnor was intriguing to her... he was someone who held her interest, someone who pushed her to think about things in a different way, someone who supported her... He had literally been there for her from the first moments she had spent in Middle Earth.

If that wasn't fate, she wasn't entirely sure what was.

But she doubted he felt the same toward her - there was no way for her to know that he thought the same thing she did. All of his actions were more reserved. He never ventured around more than kissing and holding her. She didn't know if it was out of politeness, or that he simply wasn't interested in her more than that. Of course, she didn't understand the gravity of the situation that was presented to DĂșlinnor... Didn't understand the decisions that he would have to make at the realization of feelings towards the Mortal woman.

It was rather ironic that the two stood side by side, both of them worrying about basically the same thing without the other knowing.

"Perhaps you would like to join me on the roof? I am certain that we will be able to see the stars tonight." Reinette had turned her eyes towards him as he spoke, nodding gently as he finished his sentence.

"I've actually been itching to go up, recently" she admitted, smiling sheepishly. "But I didn't want to leave you out."

They finished cleaning up soon, and together they made their way to the ladder that lead to the roof. DĂșlinnor went up first, Reinette following behind soon after. Once they finally got on the roof, Reinette made her way to the spot she loved to sit at the best, her legs dangling over the edge of the roof slightly as she relaxed backwards on her arms. She sighed happily, turning her face to look up at the sky. DĂșlinnor had been right in his assumptions - the night sky was clear, and even through the trees, the stars shown brightly.

She asked him of the constellations, wanting to know their names. After a long pause, her eyes studying the stars, she finally turned her head to look at DĂșlinnor with a smile. "Do your people believe in Astrology? Like, do they use the stars to tell a story? Or do they have greater meaning outside of their names?" She was curious to see if the Elves believed in Astrology, like some on Earth believed in Zodiac signs and palm reading.

Reinette, spoke, smiling. "I've actually been itching to go up, recently, But I didn't want to leave you out." DĂșlinnor smiled at her. "You needn't have feared leaving me. I truly would not have minded." He said as they continued to clean up. He went silent after that, concentrating (or trying to), on the task at hand. DĂșlinnor found that his thoughts continued to stray to Reinette, even as he tried to steer his mind in a different direction.

It seemed like no time that they had finished cleaning up and they left the kitchen and made their way to the ladder that they used to get up to the roof. DĂșlinnor went up first, his shoulder only giving him a small amount of pain as he moved up the ladder. Reinette followed behind him and the Elf made sure to help her up once she'd reached the roof. The young woman went to the spot that she more often than not preferred to sit at. DĂșlinnor did not join her immediately, watching her as she got comfortable and relaxed. He moved then, quickly joining her.

The Elf took a seat next to Reinette, their bodies lightly brushing against one another. The woman had turned her eyes to the sky and she was soon asking him the names of the constellations. He smiled before turning his gaze up as well, eyeing the stars that shone above them so brightly. He then spoke to her of AnarrĂma, Menelmacar, Remmirath, SoronĂșmĂ«, Telumendil, Valacirca, and Wilwarin. He briefly described them to Reinette though chose not to go into too much detail for the conversation in itself could easily take up the rest of the evening.

A long moment of silence flowed between the pair before DĂșlinnor felt Reinette's gaze on him. He turned his head so that he could see her. The Elf returned her smile as the woman spoke. "Do your people believe in Astrology? Like, do they use the stars to tell a story? Or do they have greater meaning outside of their names?" Her question caused DĂșlinnor to think for a moment, his silence remaining.

He thought over her question, as if the answer meant a great deal, though in reality it likely did not. At last, the Elf spoke. "We do not tell stories by using the stars. That concept is odd to me." He paused for a moment. He could not understand how anyone could use the stars in seeing such a thing. However, he continued. "The stars were created by the Valar before we came to be. They were the first thing that my kind looked upon. There are many stars though there are some that we hold above the rest. Our most beloved is the Star of EĂ€rendil. It originated within a powerful gem though was later removed and sent to the skies. When it shines, it overpowers all others. None of their lights able to match its own."

DĂșlinnor eyed the young woman at his side. Thoughts of his feelings for her began trying to push their way to the forefront of his mind. He knew that he would be unable to continue the way they had been for much longer before he would have to make a choice. However, he wanted to wait..to see how Reinette truly felt about him. And then..there was the matter of Arneth. Could he move on so fully? To finally let go of all the pain and guilt that he felt about the female Elf's death. He was unsure. He did know that he wanted to move on. Though, it frightened him to do so. In the end, DĂșlinnor decided to wait. At least for now. When the time was right he would speak to Reinette on the matter.

He spent a good deal of their evening with the young woman, happy to speak to her of a great many things. Though, he made sure to dance around any topic that could lead to a discussion of their relationship. It was as the night was beginning to get late that the Elf rose from his seat and then offered a hand to Reinette, to help her up. He suspected that she would soon begin to pick up on the fact that he did not wish to speak of their relationship. He did feel terrible about trying to keep such a thing from her. He simply didn't know how to best explain it to her without her feeling like she was forcing him to make a decision.

The Elf pulled Reinette a bit closer to him, not caring if anyone saw them. He pulled her into a light kiss, pulling back and allowing his grey eyes to watch her. "I believe that we should turn in. It is late and if we are going to be out most of the day we will need to be rested." He said softly, a small smile on his face. He pulled from her only a moment later and headed back towards the ladder and easily made his way down it. He waited for Reinette at the bottom.

DĂșlinnor helped the woman down from the last step. His grey eyes regarded her for a moment, taking her in. He thought her to be beautiful though he rarely said so to her. How he'd gotten so close to someone like her so easily, he would never know.

The Elf suddenly spoke, posing a question to Reinette. "Should I expect you later?" Though he knew that he should not continue to allow them to share a bed, he just couldn't seem to put a stop to it. He was drawn to her as he'd never been drawn to someone before.

He waited long enough for her answer before allowing them to part from one another. DĂșlinnor entered his room, getting ready as he normally did. The last thing he did was undo his hair, allowing it to fall freely. Only once he was ready did he pull the covers down and climbed into the bed. On his back, DĂșlinnor gazed up at the ceiling. He wanted nothing more than to tell Reinette right then his true feelings..he just simply could not. Not until he knew her own.

"We do not tell stories by using the stars. That concept is odd to me." There was a pause. "The stars were created by the Valar before we came to be. They were the first thing that my kind looked upon. There are many stars thought there are some that we hold above the rest. Our most beloved is the Star of EĂ€rendil. It originated within a powerful gem though was later removed and sent to the skies. When it shines, it overpowers all others. None of their lights able to match its own."

Reinette had turned her eyes from DĂșlinnor as he spoke, unable to resist looking toward the bright star he spoke of. It reminded her of nights sitting out on her front lawn, laying with friends or family and pointing toward the heavens, naming constellations and searching the darkness for the lights that used to guide so many travelers home.

She wanted to believe the story that he told, that it was truly a star that had once resided in a gem. The way he said the words made her feel like she ought to believe it, even though her brain told her that people thought the same about stars on Earth. She smiled to herself, before speaking.

"I guess I can understand why the idea of telling stories by the stars sounds odd. Earth had plenty of constellations, though not exactly like these. I used to do this," she gestured between them, indicating the fact that they were laying out under the sky, "with friends when I was younger. We'd name constellations, tell the histories associated with them. My favorite was Orion, the huntsman who was elevated to the heavens upon his death by the God Zeus, a story from the Mythology of one of the great nations of old. I suppose it was just silly story telling, but some believed the stars to tell true stories of the past. Even if none of it was true, though, I can't help but love the way they shine..." She was smiling up at the sky, her features relaxing more as the lights above calmed her racing mind.

The two spent a long while on the roof, chatting with one another. Reinette could feel like there was something heavy in the air around them, but she couldn't put her finger on it exactly. Eventually, DĂșlinnor rose, offering his hand to the Mortal woman; Reinette took it, standing. The male pulled her closer to him, a light kiss pressed to her lips which she gratefully accepted. He pulled back from her slightly, regarding her with the grey eyes that Reinette always seemed to get lost in.

"I believe that we should turn in. It is late and if we are going to be out most of the day we will need to be rested." Reinette nodded at the words, returning his soft smile. They made their way to the ladder, DĂșlinnor helping her down from the last step before his eyes settled on her once again. The way he looked at her made her blush slightly. "Should I expect you later?"

She couldn't help but smile and nod, before they parted ways; she had grown more than fond of their nights spent together. It made her feel like... well, that they were a proper couple. That there was something more there than just kissing and holding... She wanted more than that, anyway. These thoughts sloshed about her brain as she walked to her room, silently undressing and redressing in her long night dress as she thought to herself.

She brushed her hair through once, figuring that Thurilostel ought to trim it soon - the Elven woman had offered with a laugh one day when she'd seen Reinette fidgeting with the long locks. Placing the brush on the night table, she looked herself over in the mirror once, before leaving her room, making her way to DĂșlinnor's. She entered the room slowly, pausing in the doorway at the sight of the male in his bed. She smiled, fully making her way into the room before slowly sitting on the edge of the bed, tucking her legs up and under the covers before moving slightly so she was closer to him.

It was moments like these with him that made her heart long for more. She couldn't help but wish for more, want more. Her eyes slowly drifted over to him, settling on his face as she offered him a warm smile. Her heart couldn't help but flutter as she thought about all the 'what ifs'... What if they became more than what they were? What if he loved her?

She leaned over him slightly, pressing a light kiss to his lips, her hair framing the side of her face as she did so. She pulled away slowly, neglecting words. What did she say? Her mind was content, and she felt like she didn't need words - that, and none would come to her for the life of her...

She thought once more of the 'what ifs'.

...What if she loved him? She knew in her heart that the answer to that question was that she already did...

The Elf remained fairly still for some time, many thoughts swirling in his head. He wished that he could speak to Aglaron on the subject though he feared that he already knew what the older Elf would say. That he should get over the Mortal, that such a relationship would only bring him great pain and sadness in the end. In a sense, that was true. However, DĂșlinnor also knew that there would be happiness. Something that he'd not felt since Arneth's death.

The door to his room opened, Reinette slowly entering the room. For a moment, he did not look at her. He continued to eye the ceiling, as if in thought. The woman's footsteps were easy for DĂșlinnor to hear as she made her way to the bed. She then sat, joining him in the bed within a few short moments. Within a moment, Reinette was closer to him and the Elf moved slightly and allowed his gaze to find the woman at his side.

He returned her smile, watching her for a moment. It was something that he found he enjoyed doing. Perhaps it was because she was a Mortal and there always seemed to be something for him to see when he looked at her. The woman leaned over him a bit, placing a light kiss to his lips. The Elf reacted, returning the kiss. He watched her as she pulled away from him. DĂșlinnor allowed her to move from him, a smile on his face.

Slowly, one of his hands reached up and pulled Reinette gently to him. He then slide his arm about her waist, keeping her close. DĂșlinnor allowed himself to remain close to her. Placing a kiss, one that lingered longer than most of their previous kisses had, upon her lips. It took all that he had to remain respectful of her. He wanted nothing more than to have her fully to himself. Yet, he could not do so. He pulled away from her, though allowed his face to remain close to hers. "Good night, pen-vuil."

It was the first time he'd referred to her by anything other than her given name. Dear One was a term that he did not often use. Not even with Arneth. He didn't know if she even knew the term though he did not mind either way. It felt right to call her as such. He allowed her to get comfortable before he did the same though he kept his arm about her. He allowed himself to relax and for the first time since he'd been injured, DĂșlinnor was able to fall asleep with his eyes open as was usual for his kind.

Nearly half a week had passed since DĂșlinnor had gone to the Healers. His improvement was easy to see and every day he felt better. He'd been happy to finally be sleeping normally once again. It had been so strange for him to sleep with his eyes closed. The Elf had spent much of his time with Reinette though had made sure that the woman had time to spend with Thurilostel. There were even a few times that DĂșlinnor had taken Bregolon with him so that the women had some time to themselves.

The day before had been such a day. DĂșlinnor had taken the young child with him, heading into the city. Bregolon had been happy to spend the day with his Uncle. They'd spent much of the day shopping and simply spending time within the city. Bregolon had begged to be taken to the training grounds though DĂșlinnor had refused. He would not take the child there without his mother's permission. Though it was common knowledge that Aglaron wished for the child to follow in his footsteps, he was still but a child. However, DĂșlinnor had been able to pacify the child by buying him a new toy.

That morning, DĂșlinnor awoke later than he normally had. His eyes came into focus and he moved slightly. Immediately, the Elf realized that Reinette was not by his side. Slowly, he sat up in the bed. He knew that they'd gone to bed together as they'd become accustomed to doing. Perhaps she'd simply gotten up before him. He got out of the bed and headed into the bathroom. He stripped and then got into the hot bath. It was nice to simply have the time to do so.

Usually, he was in a hurry and always trying to get going fairly quickly. However, today, he did not feel the need to rush so. He was planning on spending the day with Reinette. He'd told her that he was in need to shopping for a new bow that day as he suspected that he would be needing it sooner rather than later. He'd had nearly no pain in his shoulder and even now, DĂșlinnor felt perfectly fine. It was slowly becoming more and more rare for him to have any pain. He knew that he would have to go to the Healers soon but he was honestly putting it off a bit.

He knew how quickly things would happen once he was back to training. The Elf got out of the bath and dried off rather quickly. He made sure that there was no water left on him or in his hair. He then dressed for the day and did his hair. Only once he was presentable that he left the room. He slowly made his way through the home and headed towards the kitchen where he suspected Reinette to be. Since he'd begun getting better, DĂșlinnor had slowly begun allowing the Mortal to cook more, to take care of him as she'd done when he'd been unable to do so. He suspected that she enjoyed doing so and he no longer wished to keep her from doing that which she wanted to do.

Reaching the kitchen, DĂșlinnor entered, smiling as his gaze fell to the woman. He moved silently, crossing the distance between them. He came up behind her, sliding his arms about her waist. He then leaned down and placed a kiss upon Reinette's cheek. "Good morning, pen-vuil." He said softly, smiling. He moved then, making his way to the table. The meal was nearly ready and so Reinette would not need his help. Soon, they were ready to eat. "It looks wonderful." He said, smiling happily at her.

There had been a growing tension between them, something that DĂșlinnor did not know how to fix. It bothered him yet he knew not what was causing it. He couldn't bring himself to ask the young woman about it for fear of learning something that he did not wish to know. However, he would speak with her of it should she ever choose to speak to him about it. DĂșlinnor spoke with the young woman as they ate, trying to force the tension away from them though it did not seem to help.

Reinette felt DĂșlinnor's arm snake around her waist as he pulled her down to him once more. Her body was held snug against his own, and she was sure that he had to be able to feel the way her heart beat wildly in her chest as he kissed her. Something about it felt different, and she wanted to believe it was because he had feelings for her, more than what he'd shown her. But he never moved to touch her anywhere but around her waist, never ventured from her arms. Her self of the past probably would have yelled at her for the thoughts she had about DĂșlinnor, but she simply couldn't help herself.

It probably had something to do with the fact that she had grown up and lived in 20th and 21st century America, and that he lived in a world akin to their middle ages. Oh, and he was an Elf too - that probably had something to do with it. She mulled a few of her guesses around in her head, hoping it was one of those, and not that he didn't actually have much of an attraction to her.

He eventually pulled away from her, though he had held their kiss for a long while. She had gladly continue to move her mouth against his own while it had lasted. "Good night, pen-vuil." Reinette had never heard the term before, but from the way he said it, she could feel the weight of the words. It meant something, and whatever it meant, he clearly wasn't someone who said it often.

She settled into the crook of his arm, smiling as she got comfortable. "Goodnight, DĂșlinnor..." She had almost whispered, her head resting lightly against his chest, her thumb tracing patterns against his night shirt as she slowly drifted off into her own little dream world.

"I love him..."

Reinette hadn't been able to stop the words from coming out of her mouth earlier in the week when she had been visiting with Thurilostel. The other Elven woman had looked sort of taken aback by the words, and Reinette had regretted saying it out loud for just a millisecond before a smile had spread across Thuri's face. The Elven woman had moved from her seat to sit next to Reinette, pulling her into an embrace, before she finally spoke.

"I am glad you finally recognize your own feelings." Reinette's jaw had nearly dropped at the words, but Thurilostel simply offered Reinette a smile.

The two women spoke for a few minutes more, before Thuri abruptly stood. "We must head to the market soon, before DĂșlinnor returns with Bregolon. I suspect now is the most opportune moment to speak with Golradir TĂĄralĂłm..." Thurilostel spoke of the man of whom would be making the bow for DĂșlinnor, and Reinette nodded eagerly. Together, they had made their way to the market, checking for any signs of DĂșlinnor. He knew not of their plan, and Reinette was determined to keep it that way.

When they had finally found Golradir's shop, Thurilostel quickly ushered Reinette inside an out of the public eye. The Mortal woman presented the journal page to the shop keeper, who in turn drew up his own rendition of the bow as Reinette described her vision to him in whatever Elvish words she knew, Thurilostel filling in with an appropriate word when she couldn't find one to describe what she meant.

When he was done, he'd shown her the finished plan, and she had smiled. It was somehow better than she'd imagined it, and she nodded, thanking the shop keeper before he told her when to stop by to pick it up. He'd indicated the end of the week, which was only a few days away, and Reinette had been surprised at just how quickly he was able to make it.

But they had soon returned to Thurilostel and Aglaron's flet, before DĂșlinnor had with Bregolon. The male had never known they'd been gone.

The end of the week had finally approached. The night before Reinette was set to pick up the bow, she had gone to sleep in DĂșlinnor's arms much as she did every night, absolutely antsy about the next day. She willed her body to wake up earlier than normal, and was actually relatively surprised when that seemed to work the next morning.

She'd been careful sliding out of bed, slowly moving so as to not disturb DĂșlinnor's sleeping form. The first time she'd seen him sleeping with his eyes opened, it had frightened her - she'd thought he was awake, but upon checking had realized that he wasn't. It was odd to her, but she'd gotten used to it; she'd wondered if it was odd for him to see her sleep with her eyes closed.

Once she was safely out of his room, DĂșlinnor completely unawares of her departure, she slipped into her own room. She was quick to remove her night clothes and slip into something appropriate for the day before she fixed herself and made her way from the flet. She had the route to Golradir's store memorized, and sooner than later she had arrived. Some of the other stalls were beginning to open, but his was already open. She was thankful for that, stepping inside.

When Golradir saw her, he smiled, stepping into a back room of sorts before reappearing with a large packaged wrapped up. Setting it on the table in the middle of the room, he gently unwrapped the twine and papers before showing her the beautiful bow in the middle. Reinette was absolutely in awe at the beauty of the bow, and damn it if she wasn't proud of her design capabilities! She mentally pat herself on the back, before gently lifting the bow from the package to look it over. Golradir seemed confident in his work, showing her how the wood bent with proper ease and just the right amount of tension. Reinette didn't know much about bows, but trusted that it would work properly. She was simply in awe at the way the grip wove together, seemingly so delicate but clearly stronger than it appeared. The hollow carvings had her wondering how this guy was able to make such a weapon - deadly and beautiful all at the same time.

But she knew she had to get back. She thanked him as much as she possibly could, the older Elven man laughing slightly at how happy she seemed to be. He re-wrapped the package for her, accepting the coin before sending her on her way.

Her steps were light and carefree, her mood absolutely elevated. DĂșlinnor had no idea that he would be receiving such a gift, and she couldn't wait to give it to him.

She snuck back into the flet just as silently as she had left, quickly making her way to her room to deposit the package in the far corner, away from the doorway in case he checked in her room for her (though she doubted he would). Removing her cloak, she left it on her bed, before making her way to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. She assumed that DĂșlinnor would be waking shortly if he wasn't already up and about, and knew that she had arrived back at the flet at just the right moment.

She had made reasonable progress on their morning meal before she felt another presence in the room. But it was only just before a pair of arms slid around her waist. That moment of recognition happened instantly, and instead of jumping in surprise like she would have done, she leaned into the embrace as his kiss touched her cheek. "Good morning, pen-vuil." His voice was soft in her ear, and the husk that remained on his vocal chords after awakening sent a small shiver down her spine.

But he moved from her, taking his spot at the table. She was quick to serve their food, taking her own seat as DĂșlinnor spoke. "It looks wonderful." He was smiling at her, and she couldn't help but smile back. There was still a lingering heaviness in the air, partially brought about by his touch not too long prior. It was those moments where she wouldn't mind being swept up, pressed between him and a wall, clothes scattered... She turned her eyes from him momentarily, couldn't possibly bring herself to look at him for a few moments as she begged her mind to stop being so absolutely evil.

Clearly, he didn't feel the same way, she figured. Else, he would have done something by now. She sighed lightly, before finally looking back up at him. He seemed to be trying to keep the tension levels low, and for that she was thankful - he offered her another smile, which she returned as best she could.

They ate together as they always did, speaking of their plans for the day. Reinette felt the earlier excitement begin to well within her again, mixing in with some of the tension she felt. But she just couldn't help but be excited to give him the bow she had designed for him. She was quick to finish her meal, before she spoke.

"Would you mind terribly to clean up the dishes? I have something I need to get..." She was smiling, a slightly mischievous look in her eyes. She waited for his answer, before quickly excusing herself from the room.

She made her way into her bedroom, taking hold of the package she had set against the floor before hoisting it up and walking it to the sitting room. Placing it on the table near the couch, she gave it one last happy glance before moving back to the kitchen. DĂșlinnor was just finishing up with the dishes, and she made her way into the room, taking hold of his hand gently before pulling on it lightly, indicating that she wanted him to follow her. She laced her fingers with his own, before she spoke. They walked together as the words came forth.

"I... Well, I was thinking about a lot of the things that have happened over the past couple months. And one of them stuck out above all else. So, I... well, I got you something." Her words ended as they stood in the threshold of the sitting room, her eyes falling on the package with a smile in them.

She left go of his hand so that he could move further into the room, as she watched his reactions, waiting with anticipation and nervous butterflies in her heart as she watched after him.

DĂșlinnor was glad to see that as they ate, Reinette's mood seeming to slowly improve as they spoke and ate. It seemed like no time before they both had finished eating. The Elf rose, his gaze turning to the young woman as she spoke. "Would you mind terribly to clean up the dishes? I have something I need to get..." She was smiling and DĂșlinnor returned it. "I do not mind at all, pen-vuil." He said, watching her curiously as she left the kitchen.

As he was alone, the Elf was quick to clean away the dishes that they'd used and was soon cleaning them in the sink. It didn't seem like Reinette had been gone long at all before she was returning. He finished up what he was doing, placing the dishes in their proper place before he turned to the Mortal, his grey eyes resting on her form. Reinette took hold of his hand and began pulling on him. DĂșlinnor got the hint quickly, allowing the woman to lead him.

He allowed his fingers to curl about her own, listening as she broke their silence. "I... Well, I was thinking about a lot of the things that have happened over the past couple months. And one of them stuck out above all else. So, I... well, I got you something." They reached the threshold as Reinette went silent. He couldn't begin to imagine what had caused her to want to go out and get him something. DĂșlinnor's gaze followed Reinette's landing upon a rather large package that was now upon the table.

Reinette released his hand and DĂșlinnor found that he was quite curious. He was certain that it was showing on his face though he did not care. Moving from Reinette's side, DĂșlinnor made his way further into the room. It did not take him long to reach the table and took a seat before it so that he could more easily see the package. It was not often that he received gifts and it was even stranger that Reinette had gotten him something.

He glanced at her, as if making sure that she was certain that he could go ahead and open the package. Only once he was certain that she truly wanted him to open the package did he move to do so. DĂșlinnor pulled the twine, allowing the papers that hid the item from his view to become looser. He then slowly moved the papers, his eyes falling to the most beautiful bow that he'd ever seen.

DĂșlinnor was silent, taking in the beautifully crafted item that lay before him. He smiled suddenly, more than likely the brightest one he'd allowed Reinette to see since they'd met. Out of all the things that he could have possibly thought that Reinette had gotten him, a bow was far from his mind. "And why would you get me such a thing? I imagine that you would prefer to keep me here with you." He said, rising from his seat. He was teasing her, the smile still on his face.

It was then that he picked up the bow, allowing himself to fully look at the item. It was easy to see that it was well made, that much care and thought had gone into the weapon. "Tell me, pen-vuil, where were you were able to find such a weapon?" He went silent, allowing Reinette to tell him where she'd found the weapon. It was only as she informed him that she'd come up with the design and had been able to find someone who was able to create it that DĂșlinnor gently sat the intricate weapon back down for a moment.

He was quick to close the distance between them, pulling her against his body, and his lips soon finding Reinette's. He would never be able to repay her for such a gift. This, he knew. However, he could try to show her how much he truly appreciated that she'd even thought to get him a replacement for the bow that had been destroyed. He allowed one of his hands to slowly find its way to Reinette's neck, keeping her close to him. The other found its way about her waist though it was a bit lower than he usually allowed it. The kiss was deep and lingering.

DĂșlinnor allowed the kiss to continue for some time. He tried to show her through the kiss how much he truly did care for her..how much he appreciated her. It was all he could do until he'd come to a decision. Suddenly, DĂșlinnor ended the kiss and simply allowed his forehead to rest against Reinette's as he attempted to regain his breath. He offered her another smile as his eyes held her own. "Words cannot express how much this means to me."

He watched her, honesty and love in his gaze. The Elf loved the Mortal, more than he should. His family..he was unsure of how they would react once they'd found out. He'd been keeping it from them though he suspected that Thurilostel knew..or at least suspected. Reinette was talented. He'd never imagined that anyone could come up with such a wonderful weapon and DĂșlinnor looked forward to being able to try the weapon out for the first time. However, he would have to wait until he was cleared by the Healers.

DĂșlinnor slowly released Reinette though he did not wish to. He found that he wanted nothing more than to take the next step yet he could not. He had to remain abiding to his kinds' ways. He would not bring shame to his family. He placed some distance between them then, trying to push the thoughts away from him. They were not helping. He only hoped that Reinette had not realized why he'd moved as he had.

Reinette's eyes watched after DĂșlinnor as he made his way further into the room. He soon perched himself on the seat across from the table, eyeing the package presented before him. His eyes turned up to her own, a questioning look in them. She couldn't help but nod, her smile encouraging. His hand reached out, his fingers lightly gripping onto the twin that held the whole packaged together. He moved the papers aside once he'd pulled it open; Reinette could feel her heart hammering in her chest at the anticipation.

He was silent as the bow was revealed to him, and the poor Mortal woman almost couldn't take the anticipation. But then DĂșlinnor turned his gaze up to look at her, the most brilliant and bright smile on his face. She couldn't help but smile back; if the look on his face was any indication of how he felt, clearly he was happy to receive such a gift.

"And why would you get me such a thing? I imagine that you would prefer to keep me here with you." She could hear the teasing in his voice, and she couldn't help but laugh, knowing that no true answer was expected. He had risen, raising the bow into his hands to truly examine the piece.

"Tell me, pen-vuil, where were you able to find such a weapon?" Reinette had moved more into the room as the question was asked, DĂșlinnor's eyes turning to look at her from the bow.

"Well, the night that Aglaron brought you your old bow, I saw how much it seemed to have hurt you to see it in the state it was in. I got hit by some sort of inspiration that night, and I couldn't help but draw what I thought would be a beautiful bow. I got some help along the way to create it, though..." She didn't want to hint that Thurilostel was in on it, because the female had already told her that it wasn't necessary, that she would rather remain nameless in this instance. "And this is what the shopkeeper Lord Golradir was able to make from my design. Honestly, I think most of the credit should go to him..." She smiled, shrugging slightly as she spoke the last sentence.

"I just wanted you to have something to make new memories with. Nothing will ever be able to replace your Grandfather's gift to you, but... well, I just hoped that this bow would facilitate your skills as an archer in the same way..." She'd seen DĂșlinnor with a bow, seen the way that it seemed to be more of an extension of his soul, rather than a weapon. He'd saved her life with the bow that had been destroyed. She knew no other way to show him how much that meant to her.

DĂșlinnor was placing the weapon down in its package again, and before she could fully register what was happening, he'd taken the few strides to where her smaller frame stood, gathering her against him, pressing her to his body as he kissed her. She could feel the emotion in it, felt her breath sucked away. She returned it, eyes sliding shut in absolute bliss. Her heart rate picked up as his hands found their way to her neck, and one to the very lowest part of her lower back. The pink was creeping onto her cheeks, both at the touch that was much lower than normal, and the anticipation of what might come.

Reinette lost all her senses in those moments. She knew not how long she was held in his embrace - didn't even care. She could feel the emotions he didn't usually show her in his lips, and she tried to push her own feelings across to him. She wanted him to understand that she loved every little moment they spent together, that she loved him...

He was pulling away from her slightly then, his forehead resting against her own. Her breaths were shallow and ragged, her chest heaving slightly from the lack of oxygen. She'd forgotten to come up for air again, and she smiled wryly to herself at the thought - that was definitely something she was going to have to work on.

Finally, she met his eyes, her own twinkling happily. He was smiling. "Words cannot express how much this means to me."

She knew what he meant, had felt it in his kiss. There was still that part of her brain that wished he would just let his hands wander, just-- Her eyes turned slightly from his own as he stepped back, putting distance between their bodies once more, her brain cutting off the thought. She knew what she wanted, knew she was ready... Why wasn't he?

Of course, she didn't truly realize. Thurilostel had sort of explained it to her, the idea of marriage. But Reinette wasn't even thinking about that at that moment. Didn't realize truly that they'd be bound forever. It wasn't that she didn't want that - her heart longed for nothing more than DĂșlinnor's touch. She just didn't seem to know what the cost of such a decision would mean for the Elven male. She was probably being short sighted, was probably being selfish, wasn't truly thinking about his predicaments. Just that she was longing...

...And that he didn't seem to be. A voice in her head told her that it was because she was a human, and not an Elf... That it was because she was so much younger in years to him, so much more inexperienced. She tried to push it away, but the thought was already embedded in her brain, her spirits sagging slightly. She swallowed the lump in her throat, swallowed the feelings that were trying to mar the day that had only just begun. It was supposed to be a happy day, and she pasted on the best smile she could, the hint at tension once again a part of her movements.

DĂșlinnor watched Reinette as she took notice of the sudden space between them. If he'd not moved when he had, the Elf feared that he would have done something quite rash. Immediately, DĂșlinnor could see that something had changed with Reinette. He could not understand what would have brought on such a thing so suddenly. She tried to smile, though the Elf took notice of how it looked. It wasn't her usual smile that she gave him. He tilted his head to the side slightly, regarding her closely. "Reinette," He said as concern slowly found its way to his face. "What is bothering you? I can see that something is not right with you."

He was silent, waiting for the young woman to speak. As she did, DĂșlinnor had to admit that he'd not been expecting the words that came from her mouth. He'd assumed that Thurilostel had spoken to Reinette of such a custom. Or at least, he'd hoped that she had. It had not been something that DĂșlinnor had wanted to discuss with the woman. Yet, from Reinette's words, this was not the case. His grey eyes searched her face for a short moment, as if trying to find the right words.

"I had thought that you knew." He said at length, a sudden seriousness overcoming his features. "I cannot do anything other than kiss you..for if I did we would be bound for eternity. My family adores you but they would not be pleased..." He went silent then as Reinette suddenly spoke. It was suddenly clear to the Elf that Reinette had been holding this in for some time. Otherwise, she would not have been so angry with him. He simply remained silent, allowing her to finish before he spoke again, agitation in his voice. "I would think nothing of the sort about you. It matters not to me that you are a Mortal. I had thought that you would know that by now. Nor do I find you repulsive. The only reason I am not going any further with you is because this is not easy for me. I have to choose, Reinette."

DĂșlinnor's voice was quickly showing his frustration. "To remain immortal and outlive you, forced to watch you die and then remain long after your death without you by my side...Or, to become mortal. Though I would die, it would still be after you. It is not such an easy decision. Melin le, Reinette. Whether you can see it or not, I can not force your perspective. Think what you will of me. I am not going to stand here and have you accusing me of things that simply are not true."

With that, DĂșlinnor turned quickly from Reinette and made his way through the sitting room and opened the front door of the flet. He'd just confessed to her that he loved her and that he had to choose what path to take. The Elf left Reinette, ignoring her, and shut the door behind him. He moved at the faster pace, quickly descending the stairs and making his way through the city.

Why could she not understand? He wanted to be with her, regardless of what his family thought. He simply needed time to decide. He'd not explained why his family would not be pleased. Because of Arneth, they were wary of any that he even had the slightest interest in. Not that there had been any save for Reinette. Yet, he knew that they would respect his decision in the end. They simply feared loosing him as they'd nearly done all those years ago.

He passed many as he walked swiftly. At one point he was certain that he'd heard Ringil calling out to him. He paid her no mind. Within a few minutes, DĂșlinnor had ended up in the farthest part of the city. Once there, he was quick to hide himself in the case that Reinette came looking for him. He wanted to be left alone and so he climbed up into one of the smaller trees, disappearing within its leaves.

DĂșlinnor had spent the entire day away from Reinette. He had no idea what she'd done after he left and at the current moment he didn't care. He simply needed to be alone. He'd dozed at some point and by the time he'd awoken it was well after the evening meal that he usually shared with Reinette. Yet, he still remained in the tree. He sighed softly. It was times like these that he wished that his brother was near. He needed to talk to him and found it frustrating that he couldn't.

He'd only ever dealt with Arneth and she'd been so easy compared to the Mortal that he was dealing with now. As he thought about their argument, DĂșlinnor found himself being filled with sadness. He could not say that he enjoyed arguing with her. He knew that she didn't know about Arneth..and he knew that was part of the reason that he was putting off moving forward with Reinette. Though, he'd not been able to bring it up earlier. He simply couldn't.

He spent several more hours away from the flet, only returning well after he was certain that Reinette would be asleep. Quietly, he opened the door and entered, closing the door behind him. He made his way to his room, glad that it was empty. He entered, closed the door behind him, and locked it. This was not something that he did..ever, with Reinette. He was just so angry that she did not understand what he was having to go through.

DĂșlinnor was quick to get ready for bed and laid down within a few moments. Immediately, he did not like how cold the bed felt without Reinette. However, he pushed the thought from his mind and tried to will himself to sleep. It took him some time before he began to sleep though a bit restlessly.

"Reinette, what is bothering you? I can see that something is not right with you."

A bitter voice in her head spoke to her, surprising even herself. 'Apparently there's a lot not right with me...' Her mouth was moving before she could stop herself, before she could think about what she was saying and how the words might hurt both of them.

"Why do you keep dancing around touching me? Why do we never go any further than... Why do you never..." Her voice stopped suddenly, not sure how to proceed. But she started speaking again nearly a second after the pause. "I don't know if you think that I just want a quick shag and that's it, or if you think I just want a toss in the sheets and then all of this will just end, but I can assure you that isn't it."

He was silent, his eyes looking her face over. She could feel the regret building immediately in her chest as soon as the words had left her mouth. But before she could even think of some way to fix what she had just said, some way to suck it back inside of her and just pretend like nothing had happened, DĂșlinnor was speaking.

"I had thought that you knew. I cannot do anything other than kiss you... for if I did we would be bound for eternity. My family adores you but they would not be pleased..."

She had felt regret at her previous words as she spoke, but the last one he said ignited those previous fires in her chest, re-imagined her anger. Pleased? she thought bitterly, before speaking.

"Pleased? Pleased that you'd be with someone so much... younger than you. So much less experienced in the ways of the world. Some Mortal, some silly girl who just fell into your life one day... DĂșlinnor, I l--" Her voice stopped before she let it slip, changing directions in her wording. "I care about you! Am I really that repulsive to you?"

His voice sounded agitated, but her anger was flaring. She was sure he could see it, was sure he knew how upset she was. She'd practically yelled it at him. "I would think nothing of the sort about you. It matters not to me that you are a Mortal. I had thought that you would know that by now. Nor do I find you repulsive. The only reason I am not going any further with you is because this is not easy for me. I have to choose, Reinette."

Her anger seemed to abate in an instant at his last sentence. 'Choose?' she thought. 'Choose... what?' But she didn't have to wait long for an explanation, his voice frustrated as he spoke.

"To remain immortal and outlive you, forced to watch you die and then remain long after your death without you by my side... Or, to become mortal. Though I would die, it would still be after you. It is not such an easy decision. Melin le, Reinette. Whether you can see it or not, I can not force your perspective. Think what you will of me. I am not going to stand here and have yu accusing me of things that simply are not true."

Reinette had felt a tear slip down her cheek, hadn't realized she'd begun to cry. He turned quickly from her, exiting the flet with a closed door before she even had the chance to speak. Her body had been numb, stuck in the center of the room, unmoving. The sound of the door almost slamming snapped her from her thoughts, and she called out after him, quickly opening the door and rushing onto the balcony. But he was no where in sight.

Her body shook as tears spilled down her cheeks, and she sank to the floor of the balcony. She lent her head against the railing, sobs quietly moving through her. She'd been so angry, so consumed by her own feelings, she hadn't taken a moment to think about his. She hadn't known... hadn't know what choice he was going to have to make.

She couldn't bare to think about such a thing...

Rising to her feet on shaky legs, she made her way back into the flet, moving through the home slowly. She found herself standing in front of her door, before she rushed into the room, throwing herself onto the bed and crying, much as she had all those long nights ago when she'd been lost and lonely in a world without her mom and dad.

Reinette had remained in bed the entire day, only having the energy to get up and change out of her clothes for the day and into her night clothes. She remained in her bedroom the whole day, laying on the bed, staring out the window, and thinking.

The night rolled around quicker than she would have thought, and still the home was quiet. She didn't feel hungry, hadn't felt hungry the whole day. All her mind could think about was how she had hurt DĂșlinnor.

"You're just going to do him more damage than good..." She had whispered bitterly to herself as she'd drawn a hot bath. "Things will be better for him when you're back on Earth..." Slipping into the waters, she slipped below the water line, completely submerging herself. She remained there for a moment before she let out a scream under the water, her pent up anger at herself and frustration at the situation, at everything, at God, at whatever higher power there was out there... all of it just coming out in the scream, totally covered by the water, unable to be heard outside of the bath. She finally came up for air, some more sobs rocking her body.

She exited the bath not too long after, drying off before crawling back into bed. Her mind felt numb, her body numb, and she fell into a nightmare fueled sleep.

The eye of Sauron was watching her; he wanted her, wanted the knowledge that her brain had hidden. The eye burned in the depths of her mind like an ember against her skin. She would not remember the dreams as she had them - a ring, a fellowship, a war - after her mind had woken, but echos of them remained her subconscious. It was almost as if she knew all along the dreams she had been having, but her mind hid them from her conscious thought to protect her from the pain they would ultimately bring.

The week that followed was tense. Reinette hadn't spoken much through the time, though she had been longing for DĂșlinnor to hold her against his form once more. She wanted to apologize, but she couldn't find the words. Thurilostel had noticed a change in the two, like they were avoiding some topic that they couldn't speak of.

She hated the way Reinette's eyes looked, like the happiness had gone from them.

DĂșlinnor had been training, his arm fully healed as he'd been given clearance by the Healers to return to his duties. There was word that he was to leave soon. It broke Reinette's heart more than it already felt broken. She had wept once more that night.

At the end of the week, a knock was heard against the door to the flet as Reinette had sat in the sitting room. DĂșlinnor was nearby, and her eyes turned up to look toward the door. She knew how soon DĂșlinnor was to leave for the border once more. Knew how soon he would return to that terrifying place, risk his life for his land. She wanted to find the words to say to him, to tell him how she felt.

Reinette had moved to answer the door, surprise clearly smacked across her face at the visage of the other on the other side of the door. "A-Aglaron?" She'd managed out after a moment, nearly choking on the words in surprise.

He'd seen DĂșlinnor through the doorway, and he spoke in Sindarin, the words Reinette knew clear as day against her ears.

All she could make out was 'Galadriel' and 'meeting', but even those two words by themselves had a ringing sound in her head. She looked numbly toward DĂșlinnor, trying to gauge his reaction.

The following week had been long for DĂșlinnor. Longer than he cared to admit. He'd not spoken more than a few words to Reinette though he'd wanted to. The Elf just simply couldn't bring himself to. Not that she'd been talkative either. He found that he missed having her near, speaking with her...however, DĂșlinnor was still quite hurt by her accusations. DĂșlinnor had taken to eating alone, which had turned out to be fairly easy to do. Once he'd been cleared and allowed to begin training once again, he simply got up much earlier than he usually did and spent all of the day at the training grounds until after he knew that Reinette would have already eaten.

After he'd decided that he had no pain and his shot was unaffected, DĂșlinnor had returned to the Healers one last time and had been cleared to return to duty within the next week or so. The Elf knew that he was needed..that Aglaron needed him. He'd not spoken to Reinette of this. He knew that she likely would not take the news well.

The end of the week came at last and DĂșlinnor had decided to remain at the flet that day. Though, to him, the air about the pair was awkward..and heavy. He'd been reading in the sitting room, a distance away from Reinette, when there was a knock on the front door. The Elf turned his gaze to the door. Reinette was the one who moved, heading to answer the door. As she opened the wooden door, DĂșlinnor put his book down and slowly stood.

He feared that he was being sent for, to return to the Borders. However, Reinette spoke. "A-Aglaron?" Confusion crossed the younger male's face. He knew that Aglaron was not due to return any time soon. Suddenly, his brother's eyes were on him, ignoring Reinette fully. "DĂșlinnor, I am sorry to bother you. I was called back to the city for the three of us are to attend a meeting with the Lady Galadriel."

DĂșlinnor seemed to freeze, if only for a moment. He was surprised at the words his brother had spoken. It had been such a stretch of time since Reinette had arrived that he'd nearly hoped that there was no way for the Mortal to return. Even now that he was still hurt and refusing to speak with her. Aglaron looked at him with something akin to understanding and sympathy. For only a short moment, DĂșlinnor seemed to deflate though was quick to hide it.

He sent a brief glance to Reinette, wondering how she felt about this. "Very well. Lead the way, Aglaron." DĂșlinnor said, his voice sounding suddenly quite tired. The older Elf nodded and then turned, heading down the stairs. DĂșlinnor made to follow, speaking to Reinette. "Come. We are to meet with Galadriel. It is best not to keep her waiting." He wanted anything but to go to this meeting. There were only two outcomes and one of them he did not wish to hear.

The Elf's attention was stolen as Aglaron spoke as they walked. "Something else has happened." He glanced back at DĂșlinnor for a brief moment before turning back to watch where he was heading. "You remember we were told of the Evil that was traveling across the world? To be destroyed? Well, the group..the Fellowship they've taken to being called, entered our Realm not too long ago. Haldir was taking them to see Galadriel though it is my hope that they will not remain here. I cannot say that I enjoy having such Evil in the Realm..I can feel it..trying to take the light from us."

DĂșlinnor did not comment on his brother's words. It did not seem to take them long to arrive at the giant Mallorn tree where their rulers resided. They began climbing the steps, heading upwards. He wanted nothing more than to speak to the Mortal..though still he couldn't bring himself to. Though, he did find himself eyeing her for a short moment just before they reached their destination.

Galadriel and Celeborn were already there, having just finished with the Fellowship. DĂșlinnor could hear the group still talking as they exited the large room, being led to a different area. He could just see the backs of a few that were taking up the rear. He turned his attention to the Elven rulers, greeting them as his brother did, with a bow.

The Queen greeted them in Elvish and then in Westron. "I know that it has been some time since last we spoke and I fear that I must apologize for this. Much has happened since then and my attention has been torn in many different directions. However, I've news for you, child." She paused eyeing the group. She knew how close the dark haired Warden and the Mortal had gotten and so she knew that this would not be easy for them to hear.

"It is possible for you to return to your world though it will take the most ancient of magic to send you back. This is something that I cannot do for it is beyond my abilities. However, do not fret. I have discovered that there is still one who can perform this magic. A wizard that has long been forgotten by time. Ayrin is what he went by when the world was still young though it is likely that he has a new name now. He will aide you and send you on your way." It was then that the Queen switched back to speaking so that Aglaron could understand. "The two of you will join Lady Reinette in her journey. Tolfalas is where you must go though this will take you close to Mordor. I do not think that I need to stress the caution that you will need to show in order to reach your destination."

She then turned her gaze back to Reinette. "Aglaron and DĂșlinnor will be escorting you to the Realm of Gondor. It is within there that you will find Ayrin. You will depart in the morning." DĂșlinnor felt a great sadness suddenly fill him. He didn't want to let Reinette go and he knew that even though he'd not speaking to her the past week...it would be the hardest thing to watch her leave. Galadriel was suddenly speaking again to Reinette and the Elf turned his attention back to them.

"Come. We are to meet with Galadriel. It is best not to keep her waiting."

It felt like those two sentences held more words in them than she'd heard spoken to her by DĂșlinnor in the past week. She nodded, feeling in her heart exactly what was about to transpire. Aglaron spoke to DĂșlinnor as they walked, Reinette not really even bothering to listen as her mind mulled over the impending meeting. Galadriel was probably a rather busy woman, and she'd only call the two of them if there was a development in finding a way home for Reinette.

The word 'home' sounded so foreign to her in that moment. She hadn't thought about Earth much, save for the past week. But her brain told her it was probably for the better, in order to save DĂșlinnor the torment that would be her existence in Middle Earth in the future.

Before long, the three had arrived at the large Mallorn tree that Reinette remembered so well from her first day in Caras Galadhon. She could feel her heart hammering in her chest as they ascended the stairs, her eyes watching ahead of her, her mind racing at the impending conversation.

As they broke the threshold of the top of the stairs, Reinette's eyes instantly fell on the Lord and the Lady of the wood, both etherial as she remembered them. A group was exiting the room on the opposite side from where they had entered, and the Mortal woman caught the back of the heads of some of them in her vision. She could feel a hot searing feeling in her heart, like some unimaginable evil was gripping hold of the life-organ that beat within her chest. In that moment, she knew exactly who they all were, a light-headed dread settling over her as she watched after them.

Finally turning her face to regard Galadriel as the three approached them, she could see the look of some sort of satisfaction or knowing on her face. Like the Lady of Light had seen the thoughts flash behind Reinette's eyes. Like she knew that Reinette was all too familiar with the group that had previously left.

"I know that it has been some time since last we spoke and I fear that I must apologize for this. Much has happened since then and my attention has been torn in many different directions. However, I've news for you, child." There was a pause, and Reinette felt Galadriel's eyes on her. She got the feeling that the woman could see right through her, and in that moment, it terrified her.

It is possible for you to return to your world though it will take the most ancient of magic to send you back. This is something that I cannot do for it is beyond my abilities. However, do not fret. I have discovered that there is still one who can perform this magic. A wizard that has long been forgotten by time. Ayrin is what he went by when the world was still young though it is likely that he has a new name now. He will aide you and send you on your way."

Reinette had been expecting something like this. But the weight of it, finally given life and spoken, was like a ton of bricks being dumped on her.

So, that was it then. She was going home.

Lady Galadriel was speaking in Elvish then, her attention turned more toward DĂșlinnor and Aglaron. Reinette felt that numb feeling from before seeping back into her skin, a ringing sensation in her ears. The only words that jumped out at her were 'Tolfalas' and 'Mordor'. The second sent the familiar shiver from before careening down her spine.

The Lady Galadriel was speaking to her again, and she snapped her eyes up to listen. "Aglaron and DĂșlinnor will be escorting you to the Realm of Gondor. It is within there that you will find Ayrin. You will depart in the morning."

The weight on Reinette's chest only deepened, a sadness starting in her eyes that she knew had been waiting to come out all along. She turned her eyes briefly to DĂșlinnor, before Galadriel was speaking again, approaching the young woman.

"Do tell me, child..." Reinette turned to regard the Elven Queen, and was relatively surprised to see her so close. Galadriel seemed to be staring into her soul through the Mortal's eyes, and Reinette couldn't pull her eyes away for even a second. There was hint of knowing in Galadriel's face, but all readable emotions seemed to disappear as the other woman spoke once more.

"There seems to be a great weight on your mind, a look I cannot help but to recognize. Tell me, when did your first vision come to you? What have you seen?"

Reinette seemed slightly confused, but the Lady Galadriel gripped hold of her forearm, and it was as if a sea of words began to spill from her mouth against her will at the touch. Images flashed before her minds eye, words from those well-loved stories ran behind her eyes as she spoke. "I've seen the past - I've seen Smaug. They plague me in my sleep... The eye, it watches me. I cannot run from it, and it calls my name."

She tried to bite her tongue to stop herself from speaking, but it all felt like it was against her will. She hadn't rememberd these images until the Lady of Light had taken hold of her arm, but it was like that touch opened a door in her brain, and all of it was flooding back to her. There seemed to be a look of slight amusement, of intrigue, of knowing on Galadriel's face. "The eye?" the Elven Lady asked, but Reinette could see the wheels turning, like Galadriel was pulling the information right out of her.

"Of Sauron."

She could hear the words as they left her mouth, instantly wanted to push them all back in. Celeborn was watching her, his expression unreadable. She dared not to look toward the two male Elves who had accompanied her, dared not to see their reactions. It felt like the entire room had gone dead silent, felt like all the eyes were on her. But the Lady just kept talking, and Reinette wanted to scream.

"How long have you known of the events unfolding in Middle Earth?"

Galadriel's eyes were still penetrating into her, and Reinette could feel a tear slide its way down her cheek as her own lips moved to make the sounds she dreaded were about to come forward. She begged her body to listen to her, to stop talking. But it was of no use. Like some force was moving her mouth for her.

"All along. Since the very beginning. But it's all just supposed to be stories. It's all just supposed to be fiction. None of this is supposed to be real."

She had spoken the last words, an echo of something she had said long ago when she had first arrived in Middle Earth. All the stories from The Lord of the Rings, all the events that were supposed to unfold, were just beyond her lips, just waiting to break through. But there was some force that was keeping them locked within her, something stopping her from speaking of things to come in the future. She had almost forgotten about it all, but the subconscious mind was awakening, her memories resurfacing dangerously fast. She could feel pain behind her eyes, a throbbing sensation in her frontal lobe pushing against her skull.

"What do you know of what is to come?"

Galadriel seemed to have a fire in her eyes, like she was pushing harder for Reinette to spill this information. Her grip seemed to tighten on the Mortal woman's arm, Reinette unable to look away from the Lady of Light's piercing gaze.

Her mouth moved to speak, but the words died on her tongue, a pain beginning in her chest. Reinette's eyes showed the pain she felt in her body; she felt like the air was being pulled from her lungs as she felt her body trying to speak. The voice in her head was calling out to her to stop trying to speak; she begged her body to listen, but it felt like she was being pushed to speak against her will. A few more tears had found their way down her cheeks, and she felt her legs begin to buckle underneath her, under the stress of whatever forces were pushing and pulling against her brain.

She could feel the pull to tell Galadriel of what she knew, as well as the push from some unknown force stopping her from doing that exact thing. It was a terribly strong push from both ends, probably too strong for the Mortal woman to handle. Galadriel's eyes seemed to change then, almost like she realized what was happening to the poor girl.

Her grip released on the Mortal's arm, and Reinette instantly felt the pull for information cease. The push to keep it all in faded as well, and she collapsed to the ground, her legs tucked under her, her hands planted flat against the cool floor. Reientte's chest was heaving as she gasped for air to fill her lungs once more. Galadriel had regarded her for a moment, before turning to move back toward Celeborn. She seemed to almost regret what was apparently her doing, before that look was completely wiped from her visage.

'It is clear to me that you cannot speak of such things...' A voice unfamiliar to her spoke in her mind, and she realized then that it was the Lady Galadriel. Her eyes found the Elven Queen's face once more, a look of slight sadness directed at Reinette. 'I am sorry to have caused you such torment...' It was clear to Reinette that no one but herself had heard the words.

There had been a silence hanging over the room, Reinette's louder ragged breathing the only thing that seemed to stick out against the silence.

"You may go now..."

Galadriel had spoken the words, her look turned toward the two Elven men, before she turned and made her way from them, Celeborn following suite after regarding Reinette for a moment longer. Reinette had nearly forgotten that DĂșlinnor and Aglaron were in the room. She doubted that Aglaron had been able to understand the exchange between herself and the Lady of Light. But DĂșlinnor... He had heard each and every thing that had been said, and Reinette dreaded what might come of it.

Galadriel continued to speak to Reinette, Aglaron unable to understand and DĂșlinnor simply listening to the exchange. The Queen had gotten much closer to the Mortal though none moved to stop her. It was only as she spoke of Reinette's visions did he shoot a glance to the Mortal. She had not spoken of anything of the like to him. Perhaps they had just started while they had been at odds. That would explain why she'd not told him.

DĂșlinnor forced himself to remain rooted to the spot as Galadriel gripped Reinette's arm. "I've seen the past - I've seen Smaug. They plague me in my sleep... The eye, it watches me. I cannot run from it, and it calls my name." The Mortal said. The male Elf could not believe what he was hearing. It seemed so unlikely that what Reinette was saying was the truth..however, Galadriel seemed to believe her. She asked Reinette about the eye and the Mortal spoke of Sauron. It was something that she should know nothing about. He'd made sure to keep much of their current problems from her.

Galadriel continued to ask Reinette questions. The brothers did not look towards the girl and their Queen. As Reinette answered the Queen, DĂșlinnor found himself shocked once again. "All along. Since the very beginning. But it's all just supposed to be stories. It's all just supposed to be fiction. None of this is supposed to be real." DĂșlinnor found himself now eyeing Reinette as Galadriel pushed her for information. The Elf was quick to take notice of her pain filled eyes though was torn. He could not act against his Queen yet he did not like seeing the young woman in pain.

Tears fell down her face when suddenly Aglaron took hold of DĂșlinnor's lower arm to keep him from moving. It would do none of them any good if the younger Elf acted and got himself locked away. Aglaron only released DĂșlinnor when Galadriel had released Reinette and the girl fell to the ground. DĂșlinnor turned his gaze from Reinette to Galadriel as she moved back to Celeborn's side.

What seemed like a long silence followed until they were dismissed from the rulers. Aglaron turned as if to leave but decided to wait on the other two. DĂșlinnor's gaze was on Reinette once again though his emotions were quickly disappearing once again. He was allowing the words that he'd heard to replay over in his mind. She'd been lying from the very beginning and it was not something that he cared for.

He wasn't quite sure how to take it all. Yet, this was not the place to discuss it regardless. The Elf offered his hand to Reinette, willing to help her up. Aglaron watched, immediately noting that something wasn't right with his brother. He'd seen it before after he'd returned when Arneth had died. He was retreating back behind the walls that he was so good at putting up. He feared what was going to happen to the young Elf now that Reinette was to return to her world. He could already see that DĂșlinnor was not pleased and he knew well enough that his brother would never ask Reinette to stay, even if it meant he would be miserable for the rest of his life.

DĂșlinnor pulled from Reinette the moment she was on her feet again. He then turned and began walking, intent upon returning to the flet. They had much to do before the next morning. Aglaron shot Reinette a questioning glance before turning to follow the younger Elf. "What is wrong?" He tried asking as they walked. "Do not worry about it, Aglaron. It does not concern you." It was not like the younger Elf not to speak to him if something was bothering him. It worried the elder Elf.

It was only when they reached the market that Aglaron went his separate way from them, promising that he and Thurilostel would be by within the hour so that they could get ready. DĂșlinnor nodded and then continued along the route to the flet. He was silent, unspeaking to Reinette. He felt as if his heart was breaking all over again and it was a feeling that he hated more than anything. He'd known better than to get involved with her. Yet, he'd not been able to stay away.

They arrived at the flet and DĂșlinnor opened the door, waiting to allow the woman to enter before he followed her in. He closed the door behind him and moved into the sitting room. He stopped, turning his gaze to her. The air about them was awkward and it felt horrible. He knew that it would likely not get any better. "Why would you keep such a thing from me?" He asked her suddenly.

He'd not been able to stop himself. He needed to know. Did she not trust him? He waited, allowing her to speak before he continued. "I do not care for being kept in the dark. Do you trust me so little?" It was easy to hear the hurt in his voice though his face was still hiding such emotions. "Something such as that should not be kept a secret, Reinette. I cannot trust in your words, that much is clear to me. Though, I suppose it matters not now."

The Elf paused only for a moment. "You should pack. We shall be leaving early in the morning. Aglaron and Thurilostel will be here shortly to help." He left her then, knowing that if he did not he would say something cruel to her and he did not wish to do so. He went to his room and closed the door behind him. The Elf went about his room, pulling out a few packs that he knew that he would need. He then began packing clothing and other things that he knew they would need.

It would take them at least two months before they reached their destination. And that was if they were untroubled and moving at a fast pace. He remained alone for the remainder of the hour until Aglaron and Thurilostel arrived. The older male Elf had went to pulling out a map that he'd brought with him, laying it upon the table that was near the couch. He took a seat, looking over the item. DĂșlinnor joined shortly, taking a seat next to his brother.

"The route we are going to take will be dangerous. There is no other way to go. It will be the easiest though we will likely cross many that are aligned with Sauron." Aglaron said. He then sent Thurilostel back to find Reinette and to help her pack up as she needed to do. The men remained together, discussing on the route that they'd need to take. Only once their path was certain did Aglaron roll up the map.

It had been decided that he would meet the Mortal and DĂșlinnor at the stables the following morning. "I am sorry that you must join us. i've no doubt that you would rather remain here with your family." DĂșlinnor said, clearly apologetic to the older Elf. Aglaron smiled, shaking his head slightly. "I would not dream of allowing you to go off without me. Clearly, you need someone watching your back. Thurilostel understands. We will return soon enough..but..will you, DĂșlinnor? I can already see you pulling away and it worries me. Why not tell her how you feel...ask her to stay."

DĂșlinnor was suddenly standing, clearly not pleased at his brother's words. "Do you think that I've not said anything to her? This is her choice, her decision. I could never be so selfish as to beg her to remain in a world that she is clearly not happy in." Of course, he knew that he'd confessed his love for her in Elvish. She likely had no clue as to what he'd said. Yet, it didn't make him feel any better. He was still too hurt...too upset to truly talk to her. If she wanted to leave...then he would see that she got her wish.

The following morning DĂșlinnor was up before the sun had risen. He'd made sure to get Reinette up though had spoken no other words to her. He'd retreated back to his room in order to finish getting ready. He dressed though this time in armor. He and Aglaron had decided that it would be best to wear it as they were certain that they would regret it if they did not. DĂșlinnor had decided to forgo the helmet. He did not care for it and could not see needing it.

Once he was fully ready, the Elf made his way into the sitting room, waiting for Reinette to join him. As he waited, he placed his weapons upon his form where they always went. He was ready as Reinette finally joined him. He did not greet her, simply spoke to her. "We need to go if we are to meet Aglaron."

Then, he opened the door and waited for Reinette to exit before he followed after her. His stride was a bit quicker, not usual for when he walked with the woman. Yet, he made sure not to leave her behind. The short trek to the market did not take long though it was fairly silent. The male noticed Aglaron before the older Elf saw them. His armor was heavier, showing that he preferred to fight in the midst of the enemy. He greeted the both of them before taking the lead.

They walked for some time along the familiar route towards the bridge. Aglaron took across it first and then DĂșlinnor waited for Reinette so that he could help her across. His hands rested upon her waist, helping to keep her balanced. It was then a short walk to the stables. Their horses were ready, packed up with supplies that Aglaron had gotten the day before. He mounted and, though he was still upset with Reinette, DĂșlinnor helped the woman onto Rochiril. Only then did he mount Suldal.

And so began their journey to Gondor. Aglaron took the lead, as he preferred to remain in the front. DĂșlinnor allowed his horse to walk behind Reinette's. They were keeping her in the middle so as to make it harder for harm to come to her. They'd discussed it the day before. However, this caused DĂșlinnor to have to watch her..the entire trip. It was hard on his heart and he was unsure how he was going to get through this.

Reinette's peripheral vision caught sight of a hand as she attempted to regain the breath she felt had been stolen from her. Her eyes turned up the hand, following the line of the arm up to the face of DĂșlinnor - she was relatively surprised to see he had offered her his hand, but she took it after a moment. The warmth and familiar feeling made her heart ache, but he'd pulled it from her grasp one she was back on her feet. That familiar cold feeling returned, and Reinette wished for nothing more than for it to disappear.

The look in DĂșlinnor's eyes told a thousand stories. And in them, she felt that she would never feel that warmth from his touch again.

Aglaron had turned a questioning glance at her, but she had been unable to meet the look from the older of the brothers. Her gaze was more settled on the ground, remaining behind the brothers as they walked together. Her feet felt like they were moving of their own accord, her mind wrapped up in thoughts she could not rid her mind of. Her heart was heavy.

They parted ways with Aglaron at the market, Reinette only half listening to what was said. She followed numbly after DĂșlinnor. The feeling that her life had taken when her parents had died - that whirlwind of activity while she seemed to move in slow motion - had returned. Reinette had never imagined feeling that way again, but here that feeling remained...

She was stepping through the threshold of the flet, her body moving slowly into the room. She could feel DĂșlinnor move into the sitting room, but she was unable to face him fully. "Why would you keep such a thing from me?"

She looked over at the Elven male then. All she wanted was for him to see the anguish in her eyes, in her soul. Did he truly think that she ever meant to hurt him? She'd been trying to protect him, to protect all of them. Her whole life was spent reading fiction, watching sci-fi movies. And what rule did they all say? Never change the past to change the future. What if it ripped some hole in the space time continuum?

But that wasn't even it, she thought. Her brain had forgotten the events. She had felt them as whispers in the back of her mind, had felt the lack of their presence ever slowly increasing. And only a short time ago, as Galadriel had been almost trying to pull it out of her with whatever Elven influence or magic she possessed, there had been and equally strong force keeping the information within. It had been painful. It had been agony. The words had died before she'd spoken them; it wasn't even within her ability to tell anyone, even if she'd remembered. She hadn't meant to forget - some greater power was playing with her mind - but he'd never understand. What was the point of even defending herself now?

"You wouldn't understand..." Her voice sounded hollow to her own ears. What else was she supposed to say?

"I do not care for being kept in the dark. Do you trust me so little?" She felt her heart clench at his words. She trusted him! Trusted him with her life! But how was she supposed to voice something that couldn't possibly make sense, couldn't possibly be true? How was she supposed to give life to memories that were being stolen from her, to dreams that had left her the very moment she'd awoken? She wasn't used to magic - it didn't exist on Earth. She wasn't used to the outer influence of the beings around her, locking and unlocking her memories at will, allowing them to overwhelm and spill out.

"Something such as that should not be kept a secret, Reinette. I cannot trust in your words, that much is clear to me. Though, I suppose it matters not now."

She felt the words like a punch in the gut. Her eyes were beginning to brim with tears once more, and she begged them to leave. She deserved this, she figured. Every last word.

"You should pack. We shall be leaving early in the morning. Aglaron and Thurilostel will be here shortly to help."

DĂșlinnor had left the room, Reinette staring numbly toward where he had been standing moments prior. She felt like her heart was shattered into a million pieces, and she couldn't even be bothered with trying to pick them all up and fit them back together. Slowly, she made her way back to her room, taking a seat on the bed, facing out toward the window where the beautiful bird-feeder hung.

She remained there for an hour - she hadn't felt the passage of time, but only realized how long she'd sat unmoving until she felt another presence in the room. Thurilostel took a seat on the bed next to her, and Reinette turned to look at the Elven woman. Thurilostel instantly could see the torment behind the young woman's gold eyes, could see the tear stained tracks of her cheeks. She knew not of what happened, but knew that something terrible had likely been said. The poor Mortal woman was clearly tearing herself up inside. Thuri had always been able to read the girl like an open book.

Silently, she pulled the Mortal girl in for a hug, and Reinette gladly accepted, crying quietly against the female she considered to be her best friend. The only indication of the tears was the shaking of the girls smaller body, and Thuri rested her head against the top of the blonde hair below her. It was hard on all of them, and Thurilostel wished for Reinette to stay, though she knew such a decision was not up to her to make.

Eventually, once Reinette had cried all the tears her body would allow, the two woman gathered the items that Thuri deemed were necessary for the trek, a quietness felt in the flet that night.

DĂșlinnor had woken Reinette the next morning, just speaking enough to her to wake her. No other words were offered to her, and she felt the torment from the earlier day once more. She wished for that feeling to end, wished to escape the pain she felt in her heart.

She dressed in one of her sets of riding clothes, a thick leather-like fabric added to her ensemble around the middle of her torso, giving some protection for her vital organs. There wasn't much the clothes could offer her in the way of battle, but the point was to avoid it at all costs. She couldn't do much but flee in situations where fighting would be unavoidable, never having trained to fight. All she had were her fists, and a smaller dagger-like sword that was being loaned to her for protection if it came down to it.

Fully dressed, Reinette looked about the room that she had lived in for almost two years. Her heart ached at the thought that she was leaving this place that she had put her warmth into. Her artwork that was previously scattered about was now in very distinct piles on her desk. Things she had drawn from her memory of Earth. And things she had drawn around Caras Galadhon. She had placed them in piles according to their meaning, but had ended up 'naming' them with small sheets of paper on top of each pile. There were two, but in the end, she had ended up calling each of them 'Home'... Her guitar sat next to her bed, as well.

The last thing she grabbed before leaving was the beautiful necklace that DĂșlinnor had gifted to her. She couldn't bare to leave it behind, and she tucked it into her pack, burying it near the bottom so as to protect it. At the very least, she wanted to have one thing to always remember him by.

She quickly pushed that thought from her brain, the idea of leaving this place too much of a strain on her emotions. But she knew that she needed to leave, needed to go back to Earth where she belonged. Where she wouldn't cause anyone anymore pain. Especially DĂșlinnor.

She made her way to the sitting room, DĂșlinnor already there. "We need to go if we are to meet Aglaron."

Reinette only nodded as the pair made their way from the flet. DĂșlinnor walked much quicker than he usually did, and Reinette had to push herself to keep up with him. They soon arrived at the Market, Reinette's eyes finding Aglaron's form. He wore armor much like DĂșlinnor's, though his appeared thicker.

Aglaron greeted them, and the three were soon off toward the edge of the city. They arrive at the bridge that had been the first thing Reinette had truly seen of Caras Galadhon. Aglaron crossed, and Reinette went next, DĂșlinnor falling in step behind her, his hands on her waist to help her maintain her balance. The feeling shot electricity through her, and she mentally cursed herself, a voice screaming at her to stop getting her hopes up. That whatever they had was clearly over, that he would never feel the same way about her that she still felt toward him. She'd hurt him too much.

They made it to the other side without incident, the familiar coldness returning when he'd removed his hands from her waist. The three made their way to the stables, Reinette's eyes falling on Rochiril with a mix of happiness and sadness. She had grown fond of the horse, who pushed its head against her shoulder gently in greeting as she rubbed the beautiful creatures neck affectionately. She had truly grown fond of the creature, and while she was glad that this horse would be the one to take her to her destination, she was also sad because these few months would be the last few months with the horse.

DĂșlinnor helped her to mount the beautiful creature. She said her thanks to him, her voice quieter than it usually was. And then they began the first steps of their long journey, Reinette turning to look back at the stables for a moment as they began to disappear behind the three, hidden into the trees the further the group walked away. Reinette finally turned around, her face set almost in stone as she watched Aglaron's back. With the older Elven male leading the way, and DĂșlinnor to her rear, she felt protected, and knew that they would keep her as safe as physically possible. But she knew that the road ahead of them was not an easy one, and she dreaded the idea of running into the creatures who had nearly taken her life, and nearly taken DĂșlinnor's as well.

Their movements through the forests of LothlĂłrien were swift but careful. Rochiril was clearly a trained horse, not requiring direction from Reinette on where to go. She smiled slightly at the back of the horses head as they rode, before turning her attention back to Aglaron and where he was leading the group. She knew just how difficult this trip was going to become, and she said a silent prayer to whatever higher powers were listening to her that the three of them arrived safely.

They moved quickly through the forest. Aglaron kept his attention to their surroundings though it was doubtful that they would run into any trouble within the forest. The group was silent and it was strange for Aglaron to witness the silence between his brother and the Mortal. He would have to speak to DĂșlinnor on the matter at some point. He sighed silently. This was not going to be a pleasant trip...even more so it the other two of the group remained at such odds.

DĂșlinnor made sure to keep Suldal a good couple of steps behind Reinette and her horse. He was doing much as his brother, making sure to keep his attention on their surroundings..and yet he found his gaze shifting to Reinette every so often. It bothered him. He was trying to distance himself from her..from his feelings for her and still he felt a pull towards her. He simply didn't understand. The Elf knew that the words he'd spoken to her the day before had been unkind and truly he'd not meant them. At least..not all of them. He did trust her..more than he should. And...he loved her. It was already affecting him, thinking that they were taking her to leave forever. He would never see her again..and that thought alone was enough to keep the Elf silent.

The day passed by rather slowly or so DĂșlinnor thought. They'd left the forest near the afternoon and then had turned, heading towards the Anduin, intent upon following it until they had to turn from it. This would be the easiest route into Gondor. However, it was not lost on DĂșlinnor that this would bring them close to danger. It was unlikely that it was not being watched.

The shore of the Anduin would be cold at night and it would do well for them to settle for the evening earlier. Aglaron continued on, only finally stopping once they were near a day's ride away from Rohan. The older Elf was quick to slide from the horse, making sure that the area was clear before signaling to DĂșlinnor that it was safe. The younger Elf slid from Suldal and then made his way to Reinette, helping her down from Rochiril.

He moved from her once she was on the ground, setting about helping his brother. First, the horses were unpacked and then tied, making sure that they had food and could reach water. Only once their steeds were happy and resting did they move on to working on the camp. It did not look like they would have rain though it would be cold. "I would not use our tents unless we have to. It will only draw attention to us." Aglaron said as he began working on his own bedroll.

DĂșlinnor had to agree. Though, he worried for Reinette. She was not like them. The weather would affect her much easier than it would them. However, he said nothing and simply began fixing his and then Reinette's. The male Elf laid down a extra blanket for the Human girl before rising. "I will walk the perimeter if you would like to start the fire, brother. It will get cold and dark quickly and I would prefer to be resting by that time."

The younger Elf simply nodded before he turned his gaze to Reinette. He regarded her for a moment before he broke the silence. "Reinette.." He waited for her attention before he continued. "You should rest. I shall have a fire going soon and then we can eat." He waited only a short moment before he moved quickly, heading into the treeline to find some wood. While he was away from the young woman, DĂșlinnor kept within sight of her. He would not allow anything to happen to her.

He welcomed the solitude yet at the same time he wanted nothing more than to spend as much time with Reinette as possible. He was being stubborn, ignoring the feeling. He refused to allow her back in. He simply couldn't allow it. When he had enough firewood, DĂșlinnor rejoined Reinette and then set about getting the fire going. It didn't take him long, thankfully. He could already feel the chill beginning to come in around them.

The warmth of the flames made the Elf feel slightly better...only slightly. He was still fairly miserable though he was trying his best to keep it from Reinette. He then rose once more, heading over to one of the packs. He reached inside, pulling out lembas. It was not the most flavorful thing but it would keep them full for some time. Aglaron was still gone and so DĂșlinnor took a seat near Reinette only after he'd removed his bow, leaving it on the ground nearby.

They were not as close as they usually sat though it was likely closer than DĂșlinnor should have allowed. He did not look at her, instead choosing to concentrate on the item that was in his hands. He opened the Mallorn Leaf that surrounded the food and then gently broke the small piece of bread-like food in half. It was then that his grey eyes returned to Reinette, offering her a piece. "Eat. You will feel better." He said softly.

He watched her, waiting until she'd taken a bite before he spoke again. "That is lembas. It is what we use when we travel. One small bite is enough to fill a grown man. It is not the most flavorful thing and so I must apologize for that." He looked away from her then, taking a bite before replacing his piece back in the green leaf. It seemed to warm him from the inside slightly and already he was full. His attention was back on Reinette, though his gaze was guarded..he worried for her. To him, she'd not seemed too upset at having to leave and this bothered him. Even though they were at odds...should she not show some sign that she did not wish to go? He didn't understand.

When Reinette had caught sight of the Anduin, her heart had almost sank in her chest. The last time she had seen the glorious river was when DĂșlinnor had taken her out for a ride for the first time. She had wanted to see it again - but not under these circumstances. He'd spoken to her of travelling; he'd told her he would show her around Middle Earth...

Reinette was just beginning to realize that such a thing was never going to happen. The feeling settling in her chest was like that of ice, the coldness choking her up and making her numb all over. There was a lot that was never going to happen, she told herself. And every time she thought of such things, it felt like another stab in her heart.

Reinette was just weary. Mentally weary.

The day wore on, the group following the proud river until finally Aglaron brought their small cavalcade to a halt. Reinette had simply been watching around them as they'd ridden, trying to take in the scenery and remember it, tuck it all away for later. But as they day had progressed, the scenery was beginning to blend into itself, and Reinette was thankful for the mental and physical break.

DĂșlinnor helped her down from the horse, and she stood sort of awkwardly as the both of them moved about, setting up their camp. She didn't know what she could do to help, though the two of them seemed to have everything well taken care of. They'd done things like this numerous times before, while she had never had such a life experience...

Reinette watched DĂșlinnor as he lay out some bedding, and what she assumed was her own. He'd added an extra blanket to it, and while she was thankful for the gesture, she could already feel in her bones that the night was going to be chilly. The bed rolls and blankets would be her only reprieve from the cold, and she hoped it would be enough, though she had a feeling that it wouldn't.

It was these moments that she wished she'd done more camping as a child.

Aglaron spoke to DĂșlinnor before the younger elf turned his gaze on Reinette. She almost froze where she was; he hadn't really looked directly at her for a long time and she wondered briefly if she'd done something wrong. But her thought process was way off the mark, as was revealed to her once he spoke. "Reinette..."

She let out a small noise in return. "Hmm?" It was an acknowledgement that he'd spoken, and so he continued.

"You should rest. I shall have a fire going soon and then we can eat." She nodded lightly, moving to make herself comfortable on top of the bedroll she had seen DĂșlinnor set up for her. DĂșlinnor wasn't gone long, eventually returning with firewood. He set to making a fire, and had a nice one going in only a few minutes. Reinette was quick to move more toward the fire, settling her body in a way that the warmth from the flames soaked into her muscles. She warmed her hands momentarily, a small shiver running down her spine at the cool chill in the air.

She stole a quick glance at the Elven man. She wondered how he felt... He'd been practically avoiding her, avoided speaking to her, for about a week. All she wanted to do was apologize, kiss the crap out of him, and fall asleep in his arms. But she was sure that he was finished with all of that... That he had mentally checked out of whatever they had. There were times when she thought she caught a look of sadness in his eyes, but his body language was so difficult for her to read that she couldn't be sure if it was true, or if her mind was just playing tricks on her.

The Elven male made his way to the packs and removed something from one of them. He then took a seat relatively nearby to her. Reinette watched with interest as he opened the leaf that was securely wrapped around the item within. Inside was something that appeared to be bread like. "Eat. You will feel better." He was offering her a piece, and the name for it came to her thoughts as he voiced it aloud.

"That is lembas. It is what we use when we travel. One small bite is enough to fill a grown man. It is not the most flavorful thing and so I must apologize for that." She had taken a bite, actually surprised that his words about only needing a small piece were true. She felt full nearly instantly, and she handed him back the piece that she had not eaten, watching as he replaced it with his own in the leaf.

Reinette met DĂșlinnor's eyes, and she did her best to offer him a small smile. It was tinged with sadness, which was tried her best to hide. But at that point, she wasn't really sure if she cared anymore, before she spoke. "Thank you..." It was directed at the meal, but she also gestured around them toward the fire and the bedrolls. "...For all of this. It... means a lot to me." Her small smile was strained, and after a moment she lightly sighed, not even bothering to try to push the smile back onto her face. Her thoughts were too preoccupied with the idea that she and DĂșlinnor were 'through', and that the man she had fallen in love with would never feel the same about her.

She moved slightly then, slipping into the bedroll and getting as comfortable as she could. She doubted very much that she was going to enjoy sleeping on the ground, but she knew that there wasn't much of a choice to be made in the matter, and that there wasn't really any one way around it really.

She lay her head against the pillow, her eyes immediately focusing up toward the first stars that were beginning to come out.

"Even without the trees as their picture frame, they are still quite beautiful..."

Reinette was staring up at the stars, a small smile on her face. It held a lot of sadness and grief, but even still, she meant those words all the same. The stars were just beginning to make themselves known, and Reinette was reminded of the countless hours spent on DĂșlinnor's roof. Her voice had been nearly a whisper...

Eventually, Reinette would fall into a sleep disturbed by a great evil, searching within her mind for information that she couldn't give words to, information that he couldn't pull from her.
