Aaron may be a relatively quiet individual, but he is not a shy one. Most people make the assumption that he has difficulty talking to others based on his tendency to reserve his opinion until absolutely necessary, or to use as few words as possible. The unassuming demeanor of his only furthers this presumption about his character and ability to act in social situations. However, the young man is not actually shy, despite popular belief. He is perfectly capable of carrying on a conversation with a stranger, and in fact can be rather eloquent when he does deem fit to speak at lengths. Aaron simply prefers to remain more quiet; it is a matter of choice, not incompetence. He is quiet because he has found long ago that such a behavior will allow him to see more than he otherwise might. People who are constantly running their mouths tend to miss quite a bit, even when they appear to have taken a break in order to listen to the words of another. Even then, they are thinking of what they will respond with, and therefore likely not absorbing the full extent of what is being said. Aaron discovered this early in life, thanks partially to a speech impediment that led him to be basically mute until he was seven. Those first seven years have given him the ability to carefully think out everything he says, and to observe quite well the world around him and the tones of others. Unfortunately, he can occasionally become too though-based, and will end up thinking about something for a long while, but never actually acting on anything.
Aaron has always been more of a thinker than a doer, really, far preferring to weigh out every aspect of a situation rather than leaping in head first. His tendency to overthink things often leads him to miss his chance, though, and many opportunities have slipped through the young man's fingers because he spent too long deciding the best course of action. Despite being a typically adaptable young man, not really stubborn, this is one tendency of his that he seems unable to move away from, even when he actually recognizes it in himself, as he often does. People might attempt to get Aaron to loosen up and act based on his gut rather than his mind for once, but it very rarely works- only his younger sister seems capable of prompting anything resembling recklessness from the otherwise cautious young man. He just doesn't want to be sorry when he could've been safe instead, and therefore often ends up taking many unnecessary precautions, or missing out on fun that someone in their youth ought to be a part of. Given this aspect of his, most are shocked that he would have ever decided to join the circus, as he did. He is often surprised by his own decision to have done so, honestly, but has never regretted it- he gets to do what he loves with people he has come to love, after all.
He very much loves those around him, a caring person by nature, though his introverted tendencies may lead people to occasionally doubt his affections for them. While he may be relatively eloquent when he does speak, the young man tends to have some difficulty expressing his emotions properly to anyone other than perhaps his sister, instead doing so through little actions and such. His keen observation skills give him a sort of empathy for the emotions and troubles of others, allowing him to better try and help them in whatever way he can, though in his own sort of manner. Someone who is feeling sad may find a bouquet and an encouraging, but anonymous, note on their doorstep, or someone who has lost something and has been desperately searching for it may find it one morning on their windowsill or some other place- as Aaron had been secretly looking for it on their behalf as well. He does recharge by being on his won, sure, and is very likely to be found by himself studying or reading a book, but he remains a caring individual who is willing to go out of his way to help others.
While Aaron may not be quite as stubborn as many other members of the circus seem to be, he by no means lacks the determination to push and struggle towards whatever goals he sets his mind upon. If he wants something, he will work himself to the bone in order to get it- the difference between his driven nature and the stubbornness of others is that he is more willing to recognize when he is wrong, and from there move on to another task or goal. Still, when he has not found his quest to be pure folly, he will work as hard as he needs to, very motivated when it comes to reaching his dreams, whatever they might be. It helps that he has a very sharp mind, one which certainly helps him in all that he does. Aaron has always been rather intelligent, perhaps due to his ability to absorb the things around him. He is well equipped for logical thinking, and certainly able to, because of his intelligence and focus, juggle circus life with his studying for a degree in Anthropology, a subject with which he has always been rather fascinated.

Aaron was born into a very poor family, but one that was close knit and warm, even when they were worrying about the power being shut off due to late bills and the like. When he was two years old, his mother gave birth to a second child- having been so young when Nellie came into the world, Aaron doesn't know of life without his little sister, with whom he is very close. While they may not have had all of the luxuries that some other children have, his family was happy, and Aaron never really thought much about the fact that they often struggled to make ends meet. So long as they had food on the table, and a roof over their heads, he didn't really consider his family to be poor. Perhaps he was too preoccupied with reading, and learning how strangely his body could twist and bend- doing so far more exaggeratedly than any other child. Of course, he couldn't know for sure whether this was strange, because Aaron hadn't really been very popular as a child, due partially to his speech impediment and the introverted nature he came to adopt on account of it.
He found that his younger sister, who had watched him experiment with how far his body could bend, possessed the same gift for contortion, and it became something which the siblings bonded over. She has always been the closest person to him, ever since childhood, but this helped to bond them even further. As did a shared dream, discovered in third grade -first grade for her- when they went to the circus for the first time. His parents paid for the two to go for Nellie's birthday, and the brother and sister were immediately enchanted by it. Even Aaron, cautious even then, found himself caught up in the thrills and colors of the circus. Soon, both of them, though it had taken a bit of time for Aaron to be willing to do it without being overly anxious, were sneaking into the circus regularly. They were consistently dazzled by it all, and soon had a shared dream of joining the circus. As Aaron grew, he thought of that dream as a child's hopefulness, especially as the loss of his childhood home made him more aware of the world.
During that time, his family began to live out of a hotel and, at times, out of the family car. They moved around a lot, then, and this made the siblings even closer, for any friends were soon to be left anyway. Aaron was able to adjust, to some extent, to the constant motion, partially by throwing himself into academics and, with his sister, contortion. His sister dropped out of school her freshmen year, but Aaron remained in it until he graduated, before joining his sister with the justification that someone needed to take care of her. Of course, it allowed him to live his childhood dream as well, when he and his sister joined the circus as a pair of contortionists. Still prepared with a backup plan, Aaron takes online courses for an anthropology degree.
