Introduction
In the beginning there was the Great Mother, Abarranne, alone without any to call her own. To fill her lonely heart she was given the gift of many children, the many races both large and small, of right mind and complex thought they grew and learned. Abarranne loved them, and they loved she. However, unrest began among them, upon whom the Great Mother blessed more, bringing her great grief and indecisiveness, who were she to decide who was right or wrong? She was unconditional, she could not choose a favorite, nor could she bring herself to punish them even had she the power to do so.
The Raal'm, the Solemn Vow, hating the many races, took advantage of Abarranne's torment, pretending to comfort her, to understand her. When she was her most vulnerable, ravaged her, and from them came the Nephilim, beings of great strength and size, unrivaled, twisted in the aether.
Feeling their power, weak as she were, before they could be fully formed, yet incapable of bringing herself to kill these twisted creatures born of the vile deed they were instead sealed away, in constructs of earthen seals. In shame of her failure and defilement she withdrew herself from the world and the many races were scattered, to continue for many years in conflict.
Over the years the seals upon the Nephilim would weaken, and break, the twisted creatures coming to go among us, studying us, trying to be us, and coming to despise us. As technology and magic come to be hand-in-hand, their rampages begin. They are like giant beasts destructive and intelligent. The nations of now try to decide upon how they will deal with these threats. Afterall, even the greatest of technology and magic pales to their great strength.
Mordania, the country under the idealistic King Henrick Mordaine IV seeks unity among people through understanding, considered a xenophiliac by his opposition he has no sense of racial barriers welcoming all as equals under Abarranne. He fights a seemingly futile battle to try to dig deep for signs of any humanity in these creatures. Their black knights are strong in both magic and variable combat, and protectors of the common man not only the crown.
Elsland, the nation of judges, they seek the most logical route, to find a means to destroy them. To eradicate them all before they themselves are destroyed. Dogmatic and sternly driven, powerful magitech, the "purifying light" is a common means of dealing with threats.
The Exalted, a faction forming in the "old world" and run by a small delicate child-like creature known as Gabrielle, believed to be the return of Abarranne. The blood of Gabrielle create the Exalted, empowers them, mutates them, converts portions of their body into aetheric constructs. Cult-like they seek unity through destruction of differences, to create a one world loved and cared for by only Gabrielle, the Pure Child. They want to purify the Nephilim, to control their power, to use them towards their means of world oneness.
Will you join any of them? Choose among their ideals or perhaps choose your own path? Will you seek to fight, control, or perhaps even find your own answers to the growing menace?
The story begins...

Setting
0.00 INK
The setting changes from Hoffenheim to Stulhelm
The current king Reginald Mordaine IV watches, a man in his mid-30s, being a rather social animal as he is not sitting in his podium but in a rather simple seating among the crowd, the only thing putting him apart is his ornamental clothing, coat of arms, and royal markings tattooed upon his face. A strong looking tanned man, red haired and amber eyed, he would be scary if it weren't for the dopey grin across his face. Of course he does have a number of guards around him and some of the Black Knights as well. For a man labeled as the Dark King as his predecessors before him, he has a very warm presence among his people, a man who considers his position dedicated to the well being of his people.
Beside the king is his son, Ceidrick, recently turned 16, a pale boy with black hair unlike his father, some strange freckles adorning underneath his eyes more in the redder spectrum than his father. Not often outside the castle the teen is a bit confused nervously grinning and whispering things to his father. Behind the two is the actual daunting figure of the royal family, the queen herself, Aphra, a very tall woman, taller than the king himself, wrapped in black with her face even obscured behind a one-way veil. Like a bodyguard she stands behind her husband and son, ever vigilant, a presence to her like that of a fierce guard, or perhaps even a great beast protecting her cubs.
A man approaches the king, taking momentary pause as the queen glares him over, then proceeding to whisper and hand the king a letter. He opens it and glances it over, his grin diminishing some. The queen snatches the letter and reads it. Soon something starts to break out between the two disrupting the festivities. Luci's eyes grow big as she watches, no longer able to continue the show and poor Ceidrick sinks down further into his seat.
Reginald yells out "I know, our brothers of Elsland mean well, but it is our problem to deal with as we see fit!"
"And yet we are no closer to actually 'dealing with it', and the frequency of incidents grow," the queen responds coldly.
"I know," the king says slapping his hands to his sides. "But if we destroyed everything we don't understand, there would be no Mordania, there would be no... we should consider what may be more right, maybe they can be caught, maybe they can be helped."
"And what about us? If we are attacked, what of us? We have the ruins of Waldstadt infested by an eidolan not far away, and two spotted near Hoffenheim. Now there are tales of strange sightings here at night. It is time to put our knights in action and fully arm them. For our sa- everybody's sake."
"Zmeu an Eidolan Class, Polycephales a Colossus Class, and Queen Venus a Drake Class... I know of them, the former from what I've heard seems only confused, the other two I'm not sure on, they've caused damages but they seem oddly specific, and the new one is only hear-say, if it exists and is a Ne-" The king pauses seeing the people listening to him. "If this creature is a problem... they've been shy of causing any as of yet, plus they seem too small to be one."
The queen goes starkly quiet for a moment, Reginald sighs and continues, "but if it gives you any comfort, I'll send some to scout out these problems." He turns to the messenger. "Say we will cooperate under our terms, and rally some of the Black Knights. They can choose whichever place they wish to scout out."
They seat themselves again and the festivities slowly continue.

Re: Abarranne's Cradle: Shame
Additionally, this is something akin to a monster hunt with morality. The key story aspects revolves around dealing with giant monsters, the Nephilim, the illegitimate children of The Solemn Vow after ravaging the great mother, Abarranne. They are stronger, bigger, and overall have abilities in the aether unlike others, natural part of of monsters to overcome, but each also have a backstory and class:
Drake: Dragon-like but flightless giants.
Colossus: Of great size and strength, they are among the biggest towering above all other beings. Naturally however, this comes with a large blind spot to them.
Goliath: Man-like but stronger and larger, can appear as a giant or just a large man.
Angelique: Possessing feathered wings and the capability of flight. They are notable for their clairvoyance and clearest insight into the hearts of people, almost like mind-readers.
Eidolan: Ghostly, they are so full of the aether that their bodies tend to appear skeletal or translucent when in transition between an energy state to a physical one or during a state of distress. They can phase through solid objects and phase in and out of a tangible state.
All share a similar trait, when the aether is drawn to them through their backs creating a visual appearance of six whisps resembling wings, their presence feels like a heartbeat when not concealed and have a 7-pointed star somewhere on their bodies.
