Setting
Old architecture still remains, preserved and well maintained. In the middle a fountain a shiny black marble statue of a strange large female creature with long flowing hair like clouds, a mouthless elongated face. Lining along the castle-turned-mansion's long flight of stairs are statues of saints and heroes.
The current king Reginald Mordaine IV watches, a man in his mid-30s, being a rather social animal as he is not sitting in his podium but in a rather simple seating among the crowd, the only thing putting him apart is his ornamental clothing, coat of arms, and royal markings tattooed upon his face. A strong looking tanned man, red haired and amber eyed, he would be scary if it weren't for the dopey grin across his face. Of course he does have a number of guards around him and some of the Black Knights as well. For a man labeled as the Dark King as his predecessors before him, he has a very warm presence among his people, a man who considers his position dedicated to the well being of his people.
Beside the king is his son, Ceidrick, recently turned 16, a pale boy with black hair unlike his father, some strange freckles adorning underneath his eyes more in the redder spectrum than his father. Not often outside the castle the teen is a bit confused nervously grinning and whispering things to his father. Behind the two is the actual daunting figure of the royal family, the queen herself, Aphra, a very tall woman, taller than the king himself, wrapped in black with her face even obscured behind a one-way veil. Like a bodyguard she stands behind her husband and son, ever vigilant, a presence to her like that of a fierce guard, or perhaps even a great beast protecting her cubs.
A man approaches the king, taking momentary pause as the queen glares him over, then proceeding to whisper and hand the king a letter. He opens it and glances it over, his grin diminishing some. The queen snatches the letter and reads it. Soon something starts to break out between the two disrupting the festivities. Luci's eyes grow big as she watches, no longer able to continue the show and poor Ceidrick sinks down further into his seat.
Reginald yells out "I know, our brothers of Elsland mean well, but it is our problem to deal with as we see fit!"
"And yet we are no closer to actually 'dealing with it', and the frequency of incidents grow," the queen responds coldly.
"I know," the king says slapping his hands to his sides. "But if we destroyed everything we don't understand, there would be no Mordania, there would be no... we should consider what may be more right, maybe they can be caught, maybe they can be helped."
"And what about us? If we are attacked, what of us? We have the ruins of Waldstadt infested by an eidolan not far away, and two spotted near Hoffenheim. Now there are tales of strange sightings here at night. It is time to put our knights in action and fully arm them. For our sa- everybody's sake."
"Zmeu an Eidolan Class, Polycephales a Colossus Class, and Queen Venus a Drake Class... I know of them, the former from what I've heard seems only confused, the other two I'm not sure on, they've caused damages but they seem oddly specific, and the new one is only hear-say, if it exists and is a Ne-" The king pauses seeing the people listening to him. "If this creature is a problem... they've been shy of causing any as of yet, plus they seem too small to be one."
The queen goes starkly quiet for a moment, Reginald sighs and continues, "but if it gives you any comfort, I'll send some to scout out these problems." He turns to the messenger. "Say we will cooperate under our terms, and rally some of the Black Knights. They can choose whichever place they wish to scout out."
They seat themselves again and the festivities slowly continue.
