The worker behind the counter recognized her and smiled warmly, happy to have a repeat customer. Benny ordered a coffee - black, opposite to the frilly latte - and a plain bagel. A strange thing about her is that she liked bread and whatnot without any butter or jam or whichever, just plain. It also saved her two bucks on cream cheese, which she was more than pleased about.
Coffee in one hand, bagel in the other she headed back to the academy. By the time she reached it's doors she had already finished the bagel, as was polishing off the warm java. Swinging her head back and taping the last drops in her mouth, she tossed it in the nearest waste bin and headed to the music room.
Ever since she woke up she had wanted to play the piano. Her fingers were itching for the feel of the ivory keys, and her ears for the soft melodies. She reached the room 'Music Room #3' it greeted her. Benny slipped in and closed the door tightly behind her, then flicked on the lights. Her eyes drank in the room, daylight flooding in from the large windows and maroon curtains. She walked swiftly to the piano and lifted the key cover while sitting on the bench.
This is when she hesitated, looking around. Her father wasn't there. She took a deep breath, and then another. Resting her finger tips lightly on the keys, she let the beginning notes ring out. Benny herself didn't even recognize the song until several notes in. She was playing Ruled By Secrecy, Benny hadn't played a song by Muse in a long time. Swaying in time to the music she found herself remembering Ty's infatuation - or so it seemed - with the piano, and she hoped maybe she could play something for him some day.
For now, she tapped contently away at the keys, eyes closed with a smile touching the corner of her lips.

"Damnit." she cursed, her head limply falling to the side. When she tried forcing it upright, it tilted to the side again. She pouted, and decided to go find Adrial. He would know what to do, surely. She pushed open the doors, and headed to the dorm hallways.
"Adrial! River! Time to get up!" She kicked the door open, a little too hard, and it hung limply on one hinge. Shrugging, she tried to shut it behind her, but it wouldn't close. She looked down at Mare, who had scrambled over to her in a hurry when she first came in. "You won't run away, will you? Pretty kitty."
Averalynn looked up at the bed that she formerly occupied, and wasn't surprised to see that River wasn't there. 'I don't blame her,' she thought, walking over to it. 'I wouldn't want to be around Adrial that long, either.' She paused when Adrial stirred in his sleep, and completely froze when she heard his heavy breathing and saw his red, tear-stained face.
'Is he having a nightmare?'

Damn, why the hell did she need to see him now? He sighed. It was that dream again. He thought he had seen the last of that dream before he came to the academy, but aparently not. Hopefully, she wouldn't press on the obvious matter. "Wanna go get some breakfast or something? You must be hungry. I'm buying, again."
He stood up and stretched, black wings extending, before settling back down. "I need to take a shower first. Wait here, ok?"
By the time he got out, Averalynn was sprawled across River's bed, playing with Mare. Adrial didn't know why, but he felt a blush spread to his cheeks. He stood in the doorway of the bathroom, and leaned against it. He debated whether or not to announce that he was ready to leave. But he kept his mouth closed shut and watched her silently for a few more minutes.
"Averalynn? I'm done...Ready to go?"

Averalynn jumped a little when she heard Adrial's voice behind her. This caused Mare to jump up from her stomach, and dart across the room, to hide under the couch in the corner. "Don't scare me like that!" She scolded, giving an angry pout.
She hopped off the bed, and took Adrial's arm in hers. "We're going to the cafe downstairs, okay? And you're buying. It's like yesterday! Only you're clean and smell pretty and I'm not clean and smell like Angel and cat!" They walked in comfortable silence until they reached the cafe, where Averalynn beemed when she saw River and someone else.
"River!" Averalynn called, waving one are frantically while the other pulled Adrial behind her. "Hey! Who's your friend?"

"Hey Adrial. What are you so proud about? Did you get back at Avery?" she grinned and turned to Selene.
"This is Adrial and Avery. Yesterday Avery woke up with Adrial looking in at her while she slept . . . and he has swore revenge!" she said dramatizing the last part a bit but still grinned like she always did. "Just kidding." River laughed and grinned at the three who were sitting with her. But just as she grinned a vibrate shivered through her body starting from the left pocket of her jeans, though she forced herself to keep smiling, but she was reminded of her deal with the devil.

Adrial didn't know what it was about the bubbly girl next to him, but she made him sigh. A great deal more than he usually did. He flagged down the waitress and looked over the menu dully.
Coffee sounded great at the moment, considering the terrible night's rest he got. And bacon and pancakes sounded pretty good also. The waitress waited for him, with a friendly smile. Almost too friendly. "I'll have pancakes and bacon, extra crispy, and coffee. Black."
He looked over at Averalynn when he handed the waitress the menu. "Av...what do you want?"

"Av...what do you want?" Adrial asked after giving the waitress his order. Averalynn looked over the menu, and swung her legs, reminding her of a child. She quickly stopped. She looked up at Adrial and smiled. "You called me Av...that's nice..." The smile that was previously plastered on the waitress face seemed to disappear completely when she turned to Averalynn. Averalynn shrugged it off, and smiled. "Can I have grape juice and waffles?"
When the waitress left, Averalynn's smile faded. "Did you see the way that bitch was all happy with Adrial and all bitchy towards me? Ridiculous." She shook her head. "Do we have class today?"

"We should do something today. Like go out and do karaoke or something. We should invite Lili and Roni too. It's be great fun! We could just have kinda a small gathering." she grinned now jumping up and down with excitement. "We could order pizza and pop and ice-cream!" she stared at the others now so excited she couldn't help it.
"Oh we should trade phone numbers too." she thought again, wanting her phone to be an object she could think of some other feeling then dread, and swung it out quickly deleting any sort of message Maria sent her.

Adrial tried to stop himself before he asked the question, but he couldn't. There was nothing he liked about asking personal questions. It led to attachment, and that was something he was not a fan of at all.
He sighed, and decided that he would ask one more question, and then be silent for the rest of the time. Or at least not ask anymore questions. "So...what's everyone's power, anyways?

"It's just my ex. He's begging me to take him back even though he cheated on me. It's nothing to do with family!" she grinned even though that was complete bull. River glanced at Adrial to see if he accepted it. He interrupted her thoughts with another question. "Oh I have a few powers, besides flying. I can move things with my mind and if i concentrate really hard on a good day i can read minds. Also I can heal pretty well though all of the things i told you about aren't quite perfect they work. How about you?" she grinned glancing around at everyone.

The waitress came back with his and Averalynn's food, and he picked at it boredly, while waiting for Averalynn and Selene's responses.

He looked at the small black-haired girl, and frowned. "You're Averalynn...right?"

He opened his mouth to ask Selene a question, when a boy came out of nowhere, looked at the three of them, then to Averalynn, and frowned. "You're Averalynn, right?"
This caused Adrial to frown. Why was some strange guy asking for Averalynn? Who was he?

She racked her brain for an answer. He didn't look like anyone he knew. Maybe it was her long lost twin. Or another guy who was trapped under the seduction spell she had a tendanct of putting out. Regardless, he was cute, and she knew it was going to bug Adrial.
