Caera is quite lovely, but no man who knows of her past would think of marrying the girl. The apple never falls far from the tree, right? Wrong.
Caera is spirited and stubborn, like a wild horse. Her trust needs to be earned- she has learned to be wary. But once you earn her trust, you never lose it. She is very loyal and will do anything for those she loves. She will always put her loved ones before herself. she will rush to the aid of her friends, without a second thought for her own safety. That could just be her downfall. She doesn't think people she should worry about her; she is used to people not caring.
Caera is very hardheaded in the sense that she will stand up for what she believes in, no matter what. For such a small thing, she can cause a lot of trouble. She loves to free, and her spirit is captivating. She has a fire inside of her that hate and being let down can't put out. She isn't a passive little thing that dresses up in pretty little dresses and let's the men in her life take care of everything. Caera cares not for diamonds and gold. She knows how to take care of herself.
While she almost never let's anyone see, she does have a gentle side. She is very maternal, and has a soft spot for children and animals. When she really trusts someone, she can be very protective and affectionate. A small part of her is really quite naive, once she trusts someone it's very easy for them to stab her in the back.
Caera does have a hidden talent, though. Her grandparents raised horses, and she developed a sort of affinity for them. There was no horse that she couldn't tame. She knows when to stern, and when to be gentle.
As for appearance, Caera really has the beauty of a royal. Honestly, it's pretty much wasted on her. She has long dark auburn curls that spiral down to her waist on their own accord. Her eyes are a bright, haunting blue rimmed with long dark lashes. They stand out against her fair skin like diamonds. On her soft cheeks she has a light dash of pink that gives her a slight look of innocence to her, and across the bridge of her nose she has a very light splatter of freckles that are spread out like the stars in the night sky. She has full, light petal pink lips.
She's really quite small, at about just under five feet tall and 100lbs. Her delicate hands that are almost always dirty have callouses on her palms, that show she likes to do things herself.
Caera has a dark past, though. Caera was born out of wedlock- and that's not even close to being the worst part of her birth. Her father was a king. A king who was already married to another woman. Her mother wasn't too poor, but she wasn't even close to rich. Her family live in a small town, raising and selling horses for a living. They met when he has come to find a steed for his son, and fell in love with the farm owner's daughter. Their love was very short-lived, though. He left a few days later, without looking back. She found out soon later that she was pregnant with his child.
Caera's mother, Fera, did her best to hide her pregnancy but soon it became impossible to hide. When Fera's mother forced her to tell her the truth, she was horrified. She allowed her daughter to keep the child for a year after her birth, so long as she swore after a year she would leave and confess her sins after a year.
When it came time for Caera to be taken from Fera, Fera's mother took the young girl and sent her daughter off to the king's church. There was really no denying the fact that Caera was the king's daughter. Even as a child she had exactly the man's fierce blue eyes and wild mass of auburn curls. Not only that, but her date of birth perfectly matched up with when he had stayed at the family's home. Fera's mother allowed her only to be veiwed- she refused to even think about allowing her granddaughter to be killed. Fera wasn't so lucky. She was hung publicly.
Caera wasn't exempt from the queen's wrath completely, though. She was particularly cruel with Caera. She allowed Caera to have her husband's name, Lark, so everyone would know who she was. She publicly shamed Caera and her family. No man would allow their son to marry her- she would surely be faithless. Just like her mother.
Caera grew up used to the stares, whispers, glares, and insults. That was her normal. Her grandparents never kept her parentage a secrete from her. She knew her father was a king and her mother had been hung for loving him.
