There is experience and there is cleverness. Ichinose likes to think that he excels in cleverness given that he's gotten as far as he has. Running a business isn't something for idiots so he would like to believe that the mixture of what he learned over the course of his years at the academy as well as his inherent skill for charming customers helped him learn the finer aspects of salesmanship. For aspects he's less refined in, he is honest about his lack of expertise, but will be hard pressed to admit that he can't find out with a few phone calls and perhaps a search on Google. Anything else would be too much effort.

Oh dear, oh dear, has Ichinose ever studied in his life? The answer is almost never. He only ever learns about things that he likes and discards things that he doesn't in the strange memory dump that is his brain. Even useless trivia facts (something that seems par for the course in quirky characters) get tossed in the ether in favor of more useful things such as arithmetic, statistics, and some minor economics that he picked up from reading a book once. There might have been one point in his life when he studied in order to make up for the fact that he didn't actually acquire answers for another school's test, but he doesn't talk about that.

Always one to talk fast and sell things even faster, it's hard not to wonder about how trustworthy Ichinose is as well as how safe. He claims to be a gentleman thief (one of his most famous lines being "is there no honor among thieves?"), but whether his actions align with his words has always been a source of great contention. If someone asks to buy something his methods of acquisition will never be honest, but he'll always be honest that his methods...are not honest. He speaks a great deal of his underworld connections, his "crew" of yakuza backing him up, yet they will rarely ever show. It leads to many thinking that he's a fraud, nobody truly dangerous which may very well be true; however, he would never admit that. He lives and dies by his bluffs and if it means going to extreme lengths to seem truthful he will do so. Just make sure you don't get caught in the crossfire.

Ichinose is "clutch." His motivation teeters between awful and average with the only motivating factors being hedonism. In the context of the academy he isn't determined to leave as "helping" students serves as quite the cash cow, but in a more general sense he can be persuaded. He is as human as everyone else so if something sparks his interest he'll be more than happy to help. Typically this takes the form of workarounds for otherwise, straightforward schoolwork, or obtaining advantages for a competition.

Money talks and bullshit walks. As one might suspect from a salesman, Ichinose loves cash. He loves buying, he loves spending, he loves anything that involves the feeling of cash between his fingers. It isn't merely a matter of gaining money so much as it is having all sorts of new and shiny things. He gets joy out of knowing that he has a cushion of wealth to fall back on and while he might not necessarily need it (both of his parents work) money makes the world go around. He can get anything that he wants (within reason) and if someone dislikes him? Well he can just buy their respect.
If buying doesn't work he can always talk them out of punching his face. Ichinose lives on the side of danger, but no without some smartness on his part. He is a smooth talker who tricks customers into believing their wrong when they may very well be right. He'll bluff, cheat, and lie his way out of having to do any real work and often times, one wonders why doesn't pour the same amount of effort into actually performing his tasks as in saving face. Obviously there is a fun in toeing the line between lies and the truth, but it doesn't help when he's gained a reputation for being a snake. When others approach him they know they have to be on guard for fear that they might lose their original resolve or that they may be roped into one of his stupid schemes.
Still no one can decide that he knows what he wants. There was never a day that he found himself waffling around for choices. The world is full of choices yes, but that was never an issue for him. If he's ever presented with two objects it won't take him long to choose one over the other. He detests the feeling of uncertainty so he'll force himself to make decisions as soon as he can gather enough information or his "seventy-two" deadline appears. As a rule he only gives himself seventy-two seconds to make minor decisions, seventy-two minutes to make slightly larger ones, and seventy-two hours to make life-changing decisions (assuming that an earlier time table hasn't been set). Some call him impulsive for not pacing himself; however, he feels that impulse overrules inaction. After all, the world was built on decisions not a lack of them.
One of his decisions is making sure people have a good time. One of the policies behind customer service is making sure that people feel hyped and up for doing anything that he wants to do. Typically this comes in the form of cursory greetings whenever he needs something or chatting up friends in an attempt to rope people into his money-making schemes. These schemes, while for cash, are also in an effort to have fun while doing so. He speaks with a toothy grin that allows him to navigate the school (to a lesser extent the world) while simultaneously being regarded as an untrustworthy by those who know him on a deeper level. As many learn, it's one thing to know that he's slimy, but another to resist getting caught in his pace.
It's a good thing that his needs are fueled by his addictions. His interests hop from hobby to hobby based upon his whims of the week and it's not surprising that despite the money he's hoarded a good chunk of it disappears once he finds something new to love. Mobile games, books, models, they all entertain him in different ways so it's easy for him to get hooked. Often times this is what leads into his money-making schemes since he doesn't like dipping into his savings and he can be stingy.
