Yoshie sat at her desk, listening to the tick of the clock. She had decided to make a song out of the mechanical ticking and started tap her finger on her desk as the ideal chatter in th background faded into murmurs, then to nothing.
"Maybe I should've studied for at least a bit, I did bust my ass off for these credits," Yoshie sighed in harmony with her growling stomach, her mother had told her eating before a test was important.
I should've taken her advice since she's usually always right." Yoshie thought complaining would make negative energy enter her body thus expelling any trace of hunger, if only things were that easy.
"Good morning, Yoi-Chan~ A feminine and familiar voice broke her concentration on the beat of the clock and the thoughts of impending doom and starving to death during the test. Yoshie looked up to see Ryoko leaning onto her desk, ready to strike up conversation. Of course, Yoshie wasn't going to turn down the offer to chat-that'd be rude of her. Ryoko went on about volleyball, video games, food, and other miscellaneous topics, while Yoshie was mostly interested in discussing food and other delicacies, she went back and forth with the other topics just to be polite until her growling broke the flow of conversation.
Did you skip breakfast or something? It's test day, you can't do that!" Yoshie felt like she was being scolded by her mother until Ryoko put on a pout. It made her look like a puppy and it was kind of cute. Though Yoshie would never say that out loud. Before she had a chance to respond, Ryoko was already retreating to her desk.
Good thing I always have these with me, eh? Make sure you eat!" A protein bar was tossed her way, and luckily she caught it.
Yoshie didn't get the chance to thank Ryoko since the teacher had entered and they all had to take their seats, but hopefully the way she ate the protein was enough thanks. As usual, Tooru-sensei made an awkward entrance, but that was an everyday occurrence.
"Hopefully he gives us a study guide of some sort, it'll help ease the anxiety." Yoshie thought to herself as she munched on her God sent protein bar.
