Description

Aetrius Borral

Image

Full Name"
Korriban Aetrius Laua Borral

Age:

20

Height:

5' 10"

Weight:

134 lbs

Tattoos and Other Markings:

She has an emblem tattoo on the middle of her back, another emblem tattoo on her right shoulder, and then a tribal tattoo marking that fully wraps around her left wrist.

She has a plethora of scars littering her body, all ranging in sizes, shapes, severity, and recent damage tissue. Her most prominent and always visible unless covered with a mask or hood is the double hooked like scarring that starts from the ridge of her right eyebrow and goes down until it reaches her bottom lip. It has essentially disfigured the entire right side of her face as to where she needs to wear a mask. The reasoning is left unknown. But her other scars consist of burns that cover her hands and forearms as to where she is never seen without her wrappings or gloves. A multitude of scars big and small on her back, as most of those are due to whips, and then a few dozen scars from arrows and bolts all over her body, especially her abdominal region and arms. Indicating as to what she has been through, and how many close calls this one human has endured.

Voice Example:

0:19, for the tone and pitch, as the accent is very slight for her.

Basic Personality:

She is generally a cold hearted, silent, and very reserved individual. She tends to not speak to others, and the only people she will talk to are those over her in authority or those who she has under her control. She is very respectful to those who are her superiors, such as commanders or fellow mercenaries, even then she tends to be left alone.

Aside from her cold exterier, she is actually a very vulnerable, and caring person. Once you can somehow gain her trust and loyalty, as well as time, you'll see that she's really a sweet, kind, selfless, protective, determined, loyal, and good hearted person. She just can't bear to lose anyone else, so she chooses to keep to herself unless it's someone she has a close bond to, then you'll know who she really is.

Meanwhile, in combat she is ruthless and in a way, slightly detached. At a young age she learned how to kill and fight for her life, not only animals but humans as well. While killing humans isn't her preferred way of handling things, she will take another life if it means her getting what she needs. As she has had to live by herself for many years now, she is accustomed to living alone, and defending for herself, even though she does well on her own and prefers it, she wouldn't be against being with a group. Allbiet she wouldn't get attached to anyone, as it isn't easy for her to lose more people.

Basic Background:

Much of her past is left unknown, as she intends to keep who she is a secret from the majority of people. For not only her sake, but also as a way to stay as unknown to the world, being nothing more than a distant memory. But what is known is that she was born in Shaharan as the second child, to apparently an average family, but as her name states, they were a "family" of sorts. And for years, she and her sister continued to move to different places. Only staying there for a few weeks at least, and months the latest, never staying in one spot for too long. Eventually the day came, when they were on their weekly supply run, Aetrius had run into a room full of soldiers, quickly finding a hiding spot, managing to hide from them. As they slowly moved out, so did she, emerging from her hiding spot. As she exited the room, she ran into Kieran. The two slowly and as quietly as they could, exited the building, only for two Scouts to stumble upon them. In the fight, Kieran had been stabbed, unknown to Aetrius. They made their way back to their shelter, with only a small fraction of supplies, Kieran looked at Aetrius, and handed her a gun silently. She didn't understand why, only for Kieran to show her the wound. Through tears and sobs, she begged her not to, not wanting to have to leave her only family member left. But Kieran reminded her what they were taught, to not let feelings or hesitations keep them from being caught.

Kieran left that day, and was never seen again by Aetrius, leaving her sister on her own and unsure of what her fate was. Since that day, three years ago Aetrius has gone from place to place, eventually finding that it would be better for her to be on her own. Which she has been for the past year now, slowly making her way across world, without a clue as to where she may find herself. Perhaps with another group, or perhaps, as a captive as she and her sister had made a name for themselves, due to their trouble making, as well as theft, as the bounty on her head grows every day. Now, she has many kills on her belt, as she became a rather known Bounty Hunter, but her identity has remained unknown, as she wears a mask and robe(in a general sense of how she carries herself, just picture the mask) that she herself made to keep her identity a secret. As most of her past remains a secret, so does her identity to most of the world, other than when she's in familiar company. As for where she finds herself today, she is pressing onwards to the Village of Atlum, where who knows what fate may have in store for the young bounty hunter.

So begins...

Borathian Miils meandered casually through the streets of Triveila with Kieran close behind. He greeted people he met along the way kindly, giving them a bow or a nod of his head and a few kind words. A very smooth talker. Eventually, he sat down at a chair at an outdoor restaurant and ordered a meal and a drink, and pulled out a journal and began jotting down a few notes.

"The time is upon me. It's now not but a simple matter of ensuring the final pieces fall into place. When they do, I will ascend the throne at long last replacing the noble's bastard child as the rightful ruler of this land. At last my destiny shall be fulfilled come the fading light of day. And as the sun rises upon the morrow, I will be Triveila's new King."

From above Aetrius and the others watched as Mills had begun to make his move and walk down the streets of Triveila. They nodded at each other from above and like the shadows, they moved silently and out of sight and hearing from the world, nothing to be seen or heard, and that was their goal. To remain unseen and unknown to Mills', lest the plan goes south, that is when they would act. They watched as he made his way to a small outside restaurant, with Kieran close enough behind him, but far away enough to not bring suspicion upon her, and give him the idea and notion he was being followed, not yet at least.

Aetrius and Kyero remained unseen as they took their places in the shadows above, watching from their eagle eye view as Kieran did her work below. Kieran casually watched as he sat at the small table after he had gotten food and drink, and began writing something down in his notebook. She quickly thought to herself and began to devise a hopeful plan. She casually walked up to the bar and ordered herself a drink and stood there with a coin in her hand as she paid for another drink, "For the man over there at the table with the book." she said softly and took another sip of her drink. The barkeep took note of who she ordered the drink for and had it brought to Mills' table, "For you, Sir Mills. From the lovely lady at the bar with the red hair." he said as he handed the drink to Mills, placing it on the table, gave Mills a bow, and meekly left back for the bar where Kieran casually stood, minding her own business as she drank her small pint of ale, hoping that Mills would slowly fall for their plan, if not they'd need to act on their feet and would possibly have to fall onto Plan B, which was only follow him until he was alone and grab him. Heresta hoping it wouldn't come to that.

Miils eyed the drink warily, and gently pushed it to the side with his index finger as he closed his journal and slipped it into his interior pocket. He stood up and approached Kieran, standing behind her calmly and with a gentlemanly smile.

"Apologies for turning down the kind offering, milady." He said with a slight bow.

"May I ask who sent the kind offer?"

Kieran had waited patiently for Miils to either take the drink she had offered him or if he grew suspicious and would reject and walk away. She remained seated at the bar when she heard someone walk up close enough behind her and spoke to her, noting it was Mills as she had recognized the voice as well as the fact he had left her line of sight from where she was.

She turned around and faced him, taking note of his demeanor and supposedly genuine smile. She returned his bow with her own and gave a fake, but genuine enough seeming smile in return. When he asked who had offered him a drink, she simply nodded with another smile. "I saw that you appeared to be rather stressed, and a good drink usually helps cure one's stresses. I apologize if I was wrong in assuming you drank, good sir. My apologies." she said with another bow of her head as she looked at him with a small smile.

Miils chuckled.

"No need for apologies, milady." He said, reaching out to take and kiss her hand as a gentleman should.

Following that, he let go of her hand.

"You are of Saharan descent if I'm not mistaken. Is that right?"

Kieran watched and studied his face as casually as she could as he spoke, he seemed genuine enough. And by that she knew he was all too dangerous, a calm, cool and collected and always thinking man in a situation like this could end badly for them if he were to figure them out.

She nodded and smiled at him when he asked if she was of Saharan decent. This could either be a genuine question, or he was already starting to piece together what was going on. All the while Kieran kept up her part and did her best in acting the part she was given, "Yes, sir. Shaharan born and raised until I decided that life wasn't for me. What gave it away? The red hair?" she asked with a small chuckle as she took another sip of her drink and looked back at Miils.

He smiled with a soft chuckle.

"No, no. While it's true your hair is unique, given that most Shaharan hair is either brown or black due to the desert nation's climate, what gave it away was the clothing and the subtle accent."

Kieran chuckled softly as well and sighed, clasping her hands together and gave a smirk. She looked back at him and nodded, "Well, you got me. I guess there really is no hiding the accent, my good sir." she said with another light chuckle.

She looked back at him, "Is there anything I can get for you? Or do for you? It's the least I can do. Food or drink I have no problem with." she said as she gave him a kind and genuine smile, as she had to admit, he was very charming and attractive, but she knew what kind of person he truly was, and it secretly disgusted her as she had to continue interacting with this killer of the former Queen and friend of Josephine's.

"Not at all, milady. In fact, allow me to buy you another drink." He said, waving at the bartender.

"Borathian Miils, at your service. May I ask your name, milady?"

Kieran gave him a nod as he, in turn, offered a drink and happily and calmly accepted his offer. "Your offer is most appreciated. Thank you, sir Borathian Miils. And me? Oh, my name is Rionn Wrel, Sir Miils." she said as she gave him another nod of her head, and kind smile.

He gave a nod.

"Please, milady. The "sir" isn't necessary. 'Miils' will do just fine." He said politely.

The new drink arrived, and he slid it in front of her.

"For the lovely Lady Wrel." He said with a charming and graceful flourish of his hand as it slid away from the glass to toy with a lock of her hair.

Kieran gave him a smile when he became somewhat more casual in his actions and speech, saying that 'sir' wasn't necessary. Kieran gave him another nod, but what struck her as odd was his actions, the kiss on her hand earlier and now the toying with her hair..? A tingle went down her spine, but not one of a nice variety, but a tingle of disgust and revolt as he touched her hair. She knew what kind of man he was, but she had to play the innocent passerby for now.

She looked at him with a fake smile and grabbed the cup in her hand and put it in the air as a way of saying 'cheers' and took a sip. She looked back up at him and smiled, "But honestly...What can I do for you, Miils? It isn't every day that someone like you would willingly talk to someone such as me. A traveler. What it is that you want?" she asked as she picked up the drink and took another sip, but this time she gave him a certain look, somewhat flirty but overly so that he would be turned away just now.

Miils gestured with his hand, casually waving the question off.

"Oh, it's nothing milady. I'm a man of curious nature. That's all. A drink offered is either from someone very dull or someone very interesting. I chose to believe the latter in your case. And I'm pleased to say I was right."

He sat on a stool next to her.

"So, what brings you to the city of Triveila Ms. Wrel?"

Kieran smiled and nodded, "That is true, and very flattering. But like I said. I saw that you seemed stressed, and sometimes a drink and also a companion will help. I just thought it'd be the polite thing to do." Kieran said and took another sip of the drink.

She adjusted in her seat as Miils sat down next to her and cleared her throat, "Travel. It's all I've been doing for the past few years. Nothing really exciting, honestly." she gave him a small smile and then back at the barkeep and asked for water for Miils, which soon arrived and was placed in front of him on the counter.

"Interesting."

Taking a sip of his water, he set the cup down and spun it in his hand.

"Please do correct me if I'm wrong, milady. But I do detect the faint aroma of a perfume not commonly used anywhere but within the Royal Family of Triveila... Might you be familiar with the soon-to-be Princess? Miss Josephine Dezantro?" He asked casually, but knowingly.

Kieran managed to keep herself composed as he asked her about the smell of perfume she had, if only she had remembered to change clothing... She only had one chance to manage to not have Miils catch on and know what was going on. One last chance to get him easily without having to rely on Kyero and Aetrius, which they may have need to do so shortly.

Kieran looked at him and smiled and chuckled, "My family...They were once good friends with the royal family. If you could say that. If not suppliers for them and Triveila, if not anything else. With the death of my parents two years ago, and now the recent passing of the former Queen, may Heresta bless her soul...I decided it was only right to pay respects on my family's behath. Other than that, I have no ties to the family. Simply gave them my regards on the family name, that is all." she said plainly as she took another sip of the drink.

Miils observed carefully her response, keeping a casual and not at all revealing smile on his face as he sipped at his water. Upon the completion of her story, he set the cup down and stood from the stool.

"Most honorable of you." He said quietly.

"Ms. Wrel... May I offer a word of advice to you?" He asked, his voice suddenly becoming darker and more sinister despite his smile.

"Never leave the side of the Royal Family when you are close with them, because you never know when someone may come along to threaten their lives." He said, paying the barkeep for the drinks.

"Whatever hole you crawled out of, Ms Wrel, I suggest you return to it at once. Miss Dezantro may be in danger. After all, what makes an ally an ally when allegiance can so easily be bought?" He asked in a lower, menacing voice.

He leaned over her shoulder and whispered in her ear.

"Good day, Ms Wrel."

And with that, he began walking away calmly.

Kieran grinned and also grimaced at the same time as he whispered in her ear, she understood when someone was clearly threatening her and others, and the way he spoke was clearly a threat. She silently watched as he began to walk away, and nodded. If there's one thing he doesn't know...Is that I'm too good of a liar in every way possible...And that my loyalty cannot be swayed. I've done my part, I'll have to go back to the inn and take care of Josephine and the others, prepare them for whatever Miils' may be planning...Now, it's their turn.. she thought to herself as she looked up into the darkness, being able to see Aetrius and Kyero just faintly in the dark. She gave them a nod, stood up and walked the opposite direction of Mills', indicating that her role was now done and that she had to leave. Eventually of which she made it back to the inn and told the others what Miils' was planning.

Meanwhile, Aetrius and Kyero stayed to the shadows and waited for Kyero to begin their backup plan of getting Miils, taking him back to the inn and stopping his plan of killing Josephine and the others. Now, now was the most important mission of Aetrius' career...She'd have to save a princess from being assassinated.

Kyero gave Aetri a nod, and his eyes flashed brightly before the glow faded entirely cloaking him in darkness. Aetri was seemingly sucked into the darkness with him, and the next moment she was on the roof with Kyero leaping across to the next, giving her a jerk of his head to follow him.

Aetrius nodded at Kyero and was then swiftly enveloped in pure darkness and for a moment her heart stopped. What happened? Where was she? It was then that she realized it was the power that Kyero possessed, how he always managed to get around as quickly as he does. She looked at him when she was let go of and was on the same room as he was, and nodded as he gestured to follow him. She silently followed him and kept her eye on Miils, as she knew she'd have to make sure he was apprehended now, or everything they did would be for nothing. She'd listen to Kyero for this mission, as he was even better than her at hunting targets, and so they followed Miils from above until Kyero gave the command to attack Miils

Time ticked by far too slowly. And for Linde, it couldn't be any more aggravating.

"They should have come through by now." She said quietly to herself.

Linde toyed with a lock of her hair to calm her nerves, glancing back to Lonan.

"You haven't seen them yet, have you?"

Lonán paced several times. He was getting nervous himself. He knew not what took them so long. The crisis he suffered last night made him nervous, and now, the plan probably took off in a different direction, to the point Linde Asked him if he saw them yet.

”No, not yet. Something’s wrong, I can feel it in my bones.” He said shifting his shoulders, testing how his sore one was feeling. If it came down to a fight he hoped that one was healed enough for him to use his sword properly if he had to use it. ”This is going to be a bad day.”

Linde kept watch on Lonan, noting his shoulder test.

"If anything happens, let me deal with it first. That shoulder needs rest. If you tear those stitches or cause further damage, I might not be able to fix you later." She warned.

Lonán sighed. ”I know... I’m just antsy today Linde, and very worried. About a lot of things.” He said, acknowledging her words. ”Alright, I’ll follow your lead on this one then.” he took a moment to take a deep breath and look up at the skies.

It may be a bad day, but at least the sky was still picturesque in his mind. His gaze shifted to the rooftops, just to see if anything was out there.

Linde nodded.

"Let's just keep our eyes open for now."

Time passed, and before long Linde knew something was up. And, almost on cue, Kyero and Aetrius appeared on the rooftops just the next street over.

"Dammit. Kieran must not have been able to woo him. He's on foot. That means it's time for plan B. Let's go. We need to make sure Aetrius and Kyero can take him without anyone seeing!"

”Right!” he replied as he prepared to follow Linde’s lead for the now potential chase. Now wasn’t the time to think about his worries. He had to focus on the task at hand and how to fight without aggravating his wound. Damn that Former Te’i Sai!

So with task in hand he followed Her lead. ”Heresta, bless us for Victory in this our hour of need and ask you to witness us.” He Mentally prayed.

Linde led him through the crowded streets to the next street over which, thankfully, was far less populated. Together, they set about keeping track of where Kyero and Aetrius were and tailing the man they seemed to be following. It had to be Miils.

Keeping her eye on Kyero, she waited for the signal, a flick under his chin, that the coast ahead was clear to shove him into an alleyway for Kyero and Aetrius to capture him by force. And finally the moment arrived. Kyero flicked his chin indicating ahead was clear, and Linde turned to nod to Lonan to help keep anyone off her back while she shoved him into the alley just ahead. His job would be damage control, keeping prying eyes away from anyone who happened to see the shove.

And, as luck would have it, one woman did see Linde shove him into the alley and began walking over to investigate.

Lonán saw the woman approaching. He had to think on his toes quickly in order to get her to leave the area. But if he said the wrong thing, the plan would be ruined. He had to think up a lie and think it up quick! He approached the woman and simply said, ”Excuse me, I’ve seemed to have lost my way. Do you know which way the Inn I’m staying at is?” He asked, acting like a simple tourist, a fresh mercenary face looking for a job that got turned around. Hopefully that would distract her long enough for the others to snatch Miils and get out of that alleyway.

As Kieran returned to the Inn, she was met with unpleasant news. Upon entering the room, both Josephine and Bronsen Furth, the ally with her, had disappeared. In their place was someone new and unfamiliar sitting in a chair with one leg crossed over the other and his fingers interlaced.

"Greetings. Did you come for the traitor?" He asked.

Meanwhile, back with Kyero and the others...

As soon as Miils was tossed into the alley by Linde he leaped down from the rooftops and landed behind him as he regained his footing. Grabbing him by the neck and hoisting him up off the ground, he held him loose like a rag doll until...

"HahahaHAHAHAHA!!!"

He was laughing.

"Wonderful, everyone! Just wonderful!" He said, clapping for their efforts.

Kyero dropped him, and he dusted himself off and cracked his neck.

"You seem-" He said, turning around. But he was cut off upon seeing Kyero's glowing red eyes and staggered a step back. "Y-you! What are you-" Kyero interrupted by grabbing his throat and pulling him in close, nose to nose.

"My presence is not your concern... Only that my blade is in your stomach."

Glancing down, Kyero's orichalcum blade was indeed embedded in his stomach to a small degree. He'd slit his flesh and slid the blade inside without triggering any nerves... He wasn't as good as the legends said... He was better. Blood dripped into his clothing and he swallowed a lump before smiling again.

"So the traitor has friends in low places. I see. Well, you may wish to let go and remove the blade from my flesh if you want her to live." He growled.

Kyero wasn't risking it. He removed the dagger and let go of him, causing him to cough his lungs free and straighten himself out.

"Much better. At least the Demon has some common sense. Now, to business?" He asked pleasantly.

Kyero's eyes narrowed.

After Kieran had gotten enough out of sight of Miils, she made a mad dash back for the inn, dodging and weaving between pedestrians and shopkeeps until she made it back to the inn. She pand heavily as she walked into the door and stopped when she entered the room and saw no one, at least not anyone she knew until she saw the man in the chair. She calmed herself down and looked at him with questioning eyes, keeoin her guard up if anyone tried tackling her from out of sight.

She crossed her arms and looked at him, "And who might that be? I don't have a clue what or who you're refering to." she said casually as she looked at him with glaring eyes.

"Come now. We've been keeping an eye on the traitor since she arrived. Our spies are everywhere."

He stood from the chair, keeping his hands clasped in front of his chest.

"Nevertheless, I'll ask a different question... Did you really think she'd be able to return without getting herself caught? Sir Miils owns the guardsmen of this city, you know. And word travels faster than the horse these days. He's known she was coming ever since she crossed the border."

He began pacing like a patient gentleman.

"So then, what's your role in all this, hmm?" He asked, glaring at her out of the corner of his eye.

Kieran eyed him as he spoke and listened to each and every word carefully. She examined the way he stood and carried himself, seemed to only be more so brains than brawn. She chuckled and shook her head, "So what he said was true...Loyalty can be bought so easily. Pity, really. As for the traitor, it's only funny that you're the one working for the very traitor you've been searching for." she said as she gave him another chuckle and sigh.

kieran looked at him with anger in her eyes, "As for my role, I have none. My role is over and I have no more part in this matter. So, just go and I'll act like I never saw you." she said as she walked passed him and gave him another sharp glare.

Keeping his eyes on Kieran, the man smiled.

"You may or may not live to regret that decision, miss... The traitor is being transferred to a secure facility near the Southwestern border, and heavily sedated. We know her warrior status. If you wish to save her, you'd better gather your friends and start moving now. Or you may never find her."

With that he began makin his way towards the exit, but paused as he opened the door.

"Oh, and did she not tell you?"

He glanced over his shoulder to Kieran.

"If she doesn't officially take the title of Princess within the next four days, she forfeits the rights to Sir Miils who shall become the next King. Good day."

And he was gone.

Kieran glared at him all the while the man spoke, her eyes never losing her sharp glare that she held on the man. She watched as he began to walk away, "I know when I'm being threatened...But I can assure you..She'll be just fine.." she said with a sharp tongue as the man disapeared. Once he was gine Kieran sighed and rubbed her temples. " I need a drink... " she mumbled to herself as she left for the bar in the inn.

Meanwhile..

Aetrius watched as Kyero got a hold on Miils and even slightly injured him. Once Kyero had done his part, Aetrius walked up to Miils and glared down at him, "We have a doctor with us...and I don't think she'd even want to hwlp your bastard ass..." she said with a growl as she looked at Linde for a slight moment and then back at Miils. " Regardless..You've lost, Miils." she said as she grabbed him by the scruff of the neck and swiftly smashed his face into her leg, knocking him unconsious.

With that the group swiftly left and eventually made it back to the inn, bringing Miils into the room and tying him to chair, leaving Kyero to guard him. "I'll go see if Josephine is with Kieran...Wherever she is." she said as she began to turn and leave, with a slight pit in her stomach as she began to have a bad feeling in her gut.

Back at the inn, everyone entered to find Kieran and Josephine missing. Miils was tied to a chair and Kyero stood before him with not a dagger, but a wooden spoon in his hand with everyone else either sitting outside the room if they didn't want to see what was going to happen, or standing behind him.

Kyero slapped Miils in the face, waking him up. He struggled at first to free himself, but soon accepted his situation.

"I have to give you credit for taking me captive... Seems you seek to harbor and aid the traitor, don't you?"

Lonán was in shock of the whole thing. Firstly, Josephine was probably in danger, and couldn’t be found. Secondly, the bastard obviously knew something like this was happening, and was probably deluded by calling Josephine a traitor.

”Says the man who paid an assassin to kill the Queen.” He growled out. ”If it was me asking the questions in the mind I was in, Sir, I’d make you wish you haven’t made me cross!”

Lonán took a step back and remained in the room. He wanted to hear from this Man’s mouth exactly what was going on. If he had to witness Kyero’s interrogation to find out where the woman he’s slowly grown to love was, so be it. Whatever this was about, had better be worth this man still breathing. He had to contain his anger for now, for if he let it out, this man would be dead and Josephine forever lost.

The back of his mind however, told him to trust that she’d take care of herself. He nodded to himself and prepared to watch the interrogation.

Aetrius watched as Kyero had taken up the role as the torturer for the meantime with Miils, and she left the room with whoever decided to follow her in the meantime to find Kieran, wherever she was. She had a bad feeling and walked down into the bar end of the inn and just as she thought, Kieran was sitting at the bar counter at the far end in the corner. Aetrius took a deep breath and slowly made her way to where Kieran was, doing her best to remain calm in the current situation.

"Kieran...What are you doing?" she asked calmly as she stood behind her sister who was continuing to drink but was obviously far too drunk for her own good already.

Kieran slowly lifted her head up more as she heard her sister's voice and gave a groan, "What does it look like, Korriban? Leave me alone." she grumbled as she continued to drink.

Aetrius growled softly and continued to do her best to remain calm as she could slowly feel herself becoming more and more agitated as the time went on. "You were supposed to get back after you did your part with Miils and look after Josephine until we got back. This sure as hell doesn't make you look good, now does it? Especially since Josephine is missing, Kieran!" she said as her voice slowly began to rise.

Kieran groaned again and shook her head, "I came back, and she was already gone...Someone said she was being held tightly sedated in near the...Southwestern border, I think? You have like....two days to find her? And something about if you can't, she'll forfeit the throne to that jackass and be never seen again...Just leave me alone in peace, right now." she groaned again as she went back to drinking.

The fury inside of Aetrius only began to grow the more she talked. From calling her by her birth name to explaining what happened to Josephine. She took a deep breath and placed her hand on Kieran's shoulder, "Call me that again, Kie...And I will-"

"Or you'll what? Kill me too?" she said with a tone of spite in her voice.

"Wh-wha? What are you talking about, Kieran? You know you're not supposed to drink." she said as her tone began to slowly grow more angry and unsettled.

"You know full well what I mean, Korriban. You have the mark of one, don't you? Or...do they not even know about that?" she said as she slowly turned around to face them. The alcohol clearly taking its full effect.

Aetrius growled and grabbed Kieran by the shoulder forcing, pulling her around and pressing her hard against the counter's edge, her eyes almost glowing from the rage that caused them to look like Dragon Amber, "A-all that I did for you...In Veilbrand, and even before that...A-all that I did, to survive...to find you...To not kill myself...And this...this is what you do, huh? M-maybe...Maybe I should have just left you there to rot...You've done nothing but cause problems..." she growled and pushed her back into the counter and breathed heavily, trying not to blow up at her sister any more than she already had.

Kieran chuckled with a tone of drunkenness in her voice as she looked at her sister, then at Lolan, "You know what I'm talking about Lolan, the mark that everyone gets when they're convicted of being a murderer in Saharan. You know what that means for her. And why she can never go back there."

Aetrius' eyes slowly grew only darker and angrier the longer that Kieran spoke. Her hands trembled and shook violently as she managed to not let her rage consume her and possibly even kill Kieran or someone else. She only shook her head and stormed out of the room and the inn, disappearing for the next few hours.

Later that day, Aetrius found herself back at the inn, in the bar end of the establishment. She was sitting by herself at a lone table in the corner, several empty tankards and glasses were covering the table, and her eyes were heavy from the amount of alcohol in her system. She was alone to her thoughts, finding the will to not find Kieran and settle it for once, she could only sit there, alone...Among her thoughts as she continued to possibly drink herself to death. "Fuckin' bitch...Who the fuck gave her the right to...hic...feckin' bitch..." she murmured as she continued to drink herself back to a hopeful rightful mindset.

Kyero led Lonan out of the room leaving Linde to deal with the drunken Kieran and the thoroughly damaged Miils.

As she approached him, her eyes glazed over and she glared at him without emotion.

”Every fiber of my being tells me I should leave you to suffer the damage the Demon has inflicted...”

Miils stared at her with a wicked smile.

"But you can't, can you? Being a doctor?"

Linde approached rapidly and backhanded him as hard as she could sending him and his chair falling to the ground. He grunted and shrieked as his hand and hanging flesh struck the floor, and Linde pulled him upright, slapping him hard across the face.

”I've violated my oath before whenever I encountered men who deserve death. And if it weren't for the fact I want you to face proper justice, I would kill you right here, right now.”

"Ha! I believe you, my dear. That's what's so beautiful about you."

”Be silent!”

"Beauty should be complimented, should it no-"

Linde slammed her boot into the side of his head knocking him to the ground. The impact knocked him out immediately, and Linde cursed under her breath as she propped him up and gagged him before making sure he had no serious injuries. They couldn't afford him dying on them.

She dragged Kieran to her bed, and later found and guided a very drunken Atrius, who threw up all over her favorite night gown, to bed as well. She threw the night gown away and slept naked against her lover as punishment for what she'd done.

...

The next morning, Aetrius and Kieran both would wake up with nasty hangovers while Lonan was with Kyero on the road. Lonan on his horse and Kyero, supposedly, "right behind" him. Lonan couldn't see him anywhere, but every time they stopped to rest or catch a bite to eat Kyero somehow appeared right with him. And, unfortunately, Kyero had noticed something about their progress.

”It's best we slow our pace just a bit. Your horse shouldn't be taking this many rests. It slows us down more in the long run.”

The last thing Aetrius remembered was returning to the inn hours later after the argument with Kieran the prior day, and then having a few drinks and then all went black after that. She had awoken the next morning as pain shot through her head, not wanting wake up as the sun pierced through the room. She sighed and remained lying there silently as she endured that pain that shot through her head like waves during a storm on the ocean. But eventually she would slowly clamber out of the bed and into the bathroom, finding herself further emptying the contents of her stomqch until she had found herself feeling better.

Meanwhile, Kieran had awoken hours earlier and had already endured the same punishment as Aetrius did, her headache had subsided a few hours ago and she was currently in the room with Miils, as he slowly found consiousness and slowly began to wake up. Kieran pulled up a stool infront of him as he was still tied to the chair and watched as he silently looked at her with obvious anger and spite clear as day on his face. She smiled at him and leaned forwards, "I want to say something to you, and then I will never say another word to you, alright? Good." she said as she gave him a sly grin, knowing full well he wouldn't be able to speak as he was in immense pain.

"I like to play a little game with people every now and then...I admit, I am a slow learner, I admit it. But trust me, it's better that way. Otherwise, I truly do think I'd be far more dangerous than I am already, unlike my sister. You see...I like to meld the truth with lies." she said casually, and then looked up at him with anger filled eyes that could very easily shatter the rwst of his pride, if he had anymorw that is.

"You see...What I told you, most of it was true but not all. I admit I lied, but what I told you was mostly true. I told you my name when I asked for it, but you see...I mixed it with a lie. You asked if I was Saharan, I am. And what kind of people my family were, it's true. They were simple merchants and they were indeed supliers for the royal family, as many other famlies. And were nothing more than that. So, what I said was also true. But you see...I'm loyal to no one, unless I see them deserving, and then my loyalty is even harder to lose. It's true, I have no loyalty to the royal family here, but the least that I can do is bring justice to someone that was murdered by the likes of you, Borathian Miils. You underestimate us, and you realize that now...But there is one thing that you haven't realized yet, it's how fucked you really are." she said with a snarl as she looked him over one more time, stood up and started to turn hee back on him and began to leave the room.

" Now...I'd say goodluck..but...The gods wouldn't even have pity on you. " she said as the door was opened and in stepped Aetrius, who looked passed Kieran and directly into Miils' eyes, if she could she would be glaring into his soul. Kieran gave Aetrius a silent nod and left the room, the last thing seen before it closed was Aetrius standing infront of Miils with her hands claspes tightly behind her back as she towered over him, "Have you ever wondered what the inside of one's toes would look like?" she asked in an ice cold and spine tinglingly calm and cool tone as the door behind them closed shut with the metal lock clincking as it closed.

The next morning at the inn, Linde awoke and went about her daily activities before going into the room with Miils. She had been tending to the wounds inflicted by Kyero and Aetrius, and was struggling to keep up with them for a number of reasons. First reason was that part of her didn't want to help. Given the kind of person he was and what he'd done to Josephine, he deserved every bit of pain he was getting. The other reason she was struggling was because, following Kyero's example, Aetrius enjoyed damaging his body in rather difficult ways.

Still, today she did her best to finish the wounds which had been given him over the last day or so. She remained with him for almost two full hours carefully restitching his flesh to his body as it should have been, at least to the best of her ability, and stopping any flows of blood which were threatening to burst free.

"You are a kindly doctor, aren't you?" Miils said in a hoarse voice.

Linde didn't answer.

"You've done remarkable work. My hand may actually look semi normal when it's done healing."

"No, it won't."

"You don't think so?"

"I know so... I've made sure of it."

"... Well then... At least it will heal."

"To a certain extent, it will. But the chances you'll ever need to worry about anyone seeing it and pointing it out aren't very high."

"You'd like to believe that, wouldn't you?"

Linde glared at him quietly, giving a small jerk of her needle and thread to make him grimace before returning to work.

Back with Lonan and Kyero, they were making fantastic progress with the resting of Hawk for an hour before continuing at a brisk but not break-neck pace. Another day or so and they'd arrive at their destination.

For now, they were meditating together on a pair of conveniently flat boulders in the sun with Hawk tied to a tree nearby.

After a few hours of torture, Aetrius left Miils to the devices of Linde. What she did would probably make any butcher proud of her work, but would make anyone with a weak stomach easily lose their appetite for any form of meat in the future. His feet would most likely never be the same again, at most his walk would be a bit slower and now a shuffle and hobble at most due to the damage she did to the tendons and muscles in the feet.

But once she was done, Linde had entered the room and calmed her down enough to make her stop. Begrudgingly she left, having not gotten a word out of the man in question, she'd have to be more forceful in her actions, not just mutilation. Once she had calmed down enough again, she saw Kieran in one of the rooms silently. They made silent eye contact again and nodded as Aetrius entered the room where Linde was tending to Miils' injuries. Aetrius stood by her and sighed.

"I...I'm sorry, Linde...I..I don't know what to say...From what happened the other night, to last night, and then this..I just...I'm sorry..." she said softly as she looked at her and then looked away, feeling awkward and ashamed of her actions lately.

Miils sniggered as Aetri apologized to Linde while she continued working on his injuries. But Linde remained silent and simply stitched his wounds a bit more forcefully to draw out more pain and grimacing from him. When she was finished, she glared him down and gently escorted Aetri from the room, closing the door softly behind her as they went.

In the privacy of their room, just the two of them, Linde took Aetri's hands gently in her own.

"You needn't apologize, Aetrius." She cooed, leaning in to kiss Aetri's cheek with a smile.

"I know how you are, and I know the stress we're all under. It's natural for you to become more... Aggressive, when things like this happen. And to be honest I'm impressed by how well you've handled yourself given all we've been through lately."

She came forward and gently hugged Aetrius, resting her head in the crook of her shoulder.

"It will all be fine, Aetrius. Just try to keep your cool. When you let anger rule your thoughts and actions, he wins."

Aetrius had silently watched as Linde stitched Miils' injuries, never breaking her silent eye contact with him until Linde was done and left the room. As they made their way out, Aetrius silently followed behind her as they reached the room where they could speak privately.

She nodded as Linde spoke and reasured her that her actions were understandable in this situation. Aetrius looked at her as Linde gave her a hug and reasured her again, and nodded.

"Alright, Linde...I'll try to get him to speak at some point...I'll think of something...So...I guess until Lonan and Kyero return with Josephine, we stay here and keep an eye on him?" she asked as she looked at Linde with a rather somber look on her face.

Linde offered a calm smile, and gave Aetri a soft peck on the lips.

"We keep an eye on him, yes. But we also take our time to remember what's important."

She slipped forward and wrapped Aetri in a warm, tender embrace.

"Don't worry about getting him to talk anymore. I believe I've figured something out about him that will help. So leave him to me."

She continued holding Aetri, but leaned back to look her in the eyes.

"Why don't you take this day to get some rest?"

Aetrius looked at her and gave her a small smile as she spoke returning her hug, but after she was done there was some silence that filled the room for a few moments. Eventually she sat down on the edge of the bed and looked up at Linde and spoke.

"I...I haven't been able to sleep well in a while, Linde...Everytime I close my eyes...I...I see them..The nightmares, the sounds...everything. I can't sleep anymore and when I do, it's either pure darkness and silence, or nightmares filled of things that have happened..W-would you know why? Is it guilt?"
she said as she looked down and then back up at Linde, with a rather sad and somewhat scared look on her face, something she never showed to anyone was her being scared, that was until now anyway.

At the inn, Linde stood before Aetri with a soft, quiet stare. She didn't know whether to be sad, sympathetic, or something else. But as she closed her eyes a new feeling began to flood through her heart. And as her eyes opened, she walked forward towards Aetrius...

"My love," she whispered as she cupped her face in both hands.

"Is this about the other night? When Kieran said you have a mark that brands you as a murderer in Shaharan?" She asked softly.

Linde smiled and leaned in, planting her forehead against Aetri's.

"I'm a doctor. My job is to save lives. Protect health, wellness, and the potential for a future. And yet..."

She leaned back, tears welling in her eyes.

"I guess my brand is more in my soul than on my body." She whimpered as her tears began falling.

"I've spent a lot of time with Kyero. More than I'd care to admit. And in that time I did things I never thought I myself capable of... And the taking of lives was one of them."

She sat down next to Aetri and gently pulled Aetri's head to her chest, stroking her hair and resting her cheek against the top of her crown.

"There's a saying among healers... "In high enough doses, that which cures can kill." I guess they were referring to people like me, because I've used my knowledge of anatomy and herbology to take lives in spades when I was traveling with him. Being beside the Red-Eyed Demon. Hearing him talk. Hearing his persuasiveness and cold logic... It takes a toll. Weakens your defenses. Makes you question..."

Her tears dripped into Aetri's hair.

"I'm... A murderer too. The only difference is I was never caught and branded physically. But I've taken lives I should have in the name of battling Te'i Sai. Lives I never questioned until they were gone... I made mistakes, and it's cost me dearly. I've prayed to the Gods every night in my heart for forgiveness. To bestow sympathy upon this foolish child who refused to ask the right questions at the right time... But I know in my heart the Gods are not so forgiving."

She lifted Aetri's head up, looking her in the eyes for a moment before planting a soft, warm kiss to her lips.

"The sins of our past help shape our future, my love. But they do not define it. Live in the now, with me. And let's use this chance to help the future princess reclaim her throne to atone for our blood-soaked history." She whispered, again pressing their foreheads together.

Back on the rocks, Kyero had heard the sounds before Lonan. However, he didn't make a move to respond to them. Instead, he remained still and composed. And when Lonan came back, Kyero opened one eye to observe his approach.

Aetrius silently remained sitting on the bed as Linde stood in front of her and gently cupped her face with her hands and looked away as she spoke, listening all the while still. From the question of if it was about to the tattoo on her back and what it meant, to how she herself could be considered a murderer for what she had done. Aetrius gently kept her head against Linde's as she had finished talking and then gently pulled Linde closer and gently hugged her and held her close to her body. After a few moments of helping Linde calm down, Aetrius sighed and helped Linde sit up and she too sat up more.

The young Shaharan sat with her feet off the bed and held her hands in front of her and sighed while looking down. She took a deep breath and looked back up at the ceiling silently, trying to think of what to say to Linde. Should she tell her the truth? What exactly happened that day when she was young and say it was on a false accusation, or lie and say that it was true? That she was indeed a murderer since she does take lives as a living and is prone to anger and violent outbursts. But the others have seen the other side of her as well, and know that her actions aren't warranted without a cause or reasoning behind it.

She looked down at her hand and silently looked at the fresh wrappings around the still healing wound, and then looked at her other hand and looked at the burn scars, getting lost in thought. But she only silently shook her head and finally looked back up at Linde for a short moment, and then finally began to speak, "I'm sorry, Linde. I should have told you about the brand a long, long time ago...I should have let you all know what kind of person I really am..." she said as she slowly stood to her feet and began to slowly pace around the room for a few moments before she continued talking.

"You see...In Shaharan, crime isn't such a big deal. Almost no one ever commits crime because almost everyone is trained in a form of combat in one way or another at a young age, even nobles. But, like every other place, it does have its laws. And one thing that no one wants to be convicted of is being branded as a murderer or a traitor. And well, as you can see...I got branded as the prior of the two..." she said as she removed her shirt and just barely visible over her chest biding was the brand in the center of her upper back, just below the neck and in the center of her shoulder blades, but it was littered and covered with various scars, mainly from what appeared to be from whips and various other cuts and lacerations.

Aetrius sighed and looked down as she put her shirt back on and covered the brand and sat back down at the edge of the bed. She looked down and sighed again and spoke up once more, "I don't expect you to believe what I have to say, but I'd understand if you chose not to. I was young when I received this...It was shortly after my parents and many others were killed in a raid...The one responsible for it...was never caught nor did they ever face any charges...But that's for another time. Just for some explanation as to what happened will make sense, yes? A well-known citizen in the town I lived in Shaharan, had been brutally murdered and his body was discovered and I was the only one that was around and some by standards claimed it was me. Even though I didn't have any blood on me or around me, I was still accused because I was the one closest to him at the time of his death. I saw what had taken place, an assassin jumped out from the shadows, slit his throat and made a getaway without a second thought before I was dragged out and accused and blamed for his murder. I saw who it was, and I saw his face, but because I was an orphan and something that was seen as less important, I was originally sent to be executed, not branded. But one of the elders thought it would be more suiting for me to be branded for life...and so...I was..I soon after left with Kieran, after a few months in a neighboring town, we were abducted and taken as slaves...and after a year, Kieran was hurt in one of our looting outings, and I never saw her again..." she took a deep breath after that long speech she made, having finally been able to speak about it made her calm down and relax a bit as she slowly changed the way she was sitting.

She looked at Linde and nodded silently, "After that, I managed to find my way to a carnival after escaping my master and well...killing him...I was offered a job to work as one of their performers...I accepted, as I had no other choice really, and worked there for a while until I left and well...Guess I found a better paying job after that and kinda stuck with it...I don't expect you to believe me or what I say, it's only one side of the story, but it's why I can never return back to Shaharan. My face and the mark is a dead giveaway for who I am...My...My reputation as a supposed killer and then turned bounty hunter is well known in Shaharan. Going back home would just be giving me a death sentence...No use in wanting to clear my name anymore, I gave up on that after a few years of being nothing but hate-filled...Besides, it's no one else's burden but my own...I guess what I'm gtrying to say is, I became the very thing I was accused of..." she said with a sad tone and looked down, feeling her cheeks turn a light shade of pink, not of a blush, but of anger and regret of how she had handled things slowly coming to light.

Linde listened calmly as Aetrius spoke. Throughout, her face changed. Oblique eyebrows shifting to neutral and back to oblique. Her lips ever so slightly tightening and going slack. And her head subtly coming up and tilting back down. And as Aetrius finished speaking...

"I understand." She whispered.

Linde slowly came forward and sat on Aetri's lap, wrapping her arms around her neck and gently touching their foreheads together whilst closing her eyes.

"And I believe you, my love." She cooed.

She slowly lowered her forehead and slid her face alongside Aetri's, brushing their cheeks together. Leaning forward so their chests pressed together, she wrapped her arms more tightly around Aetri and gave her a tight, strong hug.

"Thank you for telling me the truth about yourself, Aetrius." She whispered, relaxing a bit in her embrace. "As I said, our past does not define who we are today. Whatever it is you've lived through, what you live through from here on out is by your choice. And this time you're not alone."

She slowly leaned back, smiling warmly.

"I'll be here with you. I promise." She leaned forward and gave Aetrius a soft, long, passionate kiss before leaning in and embracing her again, content to sit on her lap and potentially even fall asleep if she was left there long enough.

Kyero arched an eyebrow at Lonan as he spoke and sighed softly to himself as he stood up and followed him.

"So what's your plan?" He asked quietly.

Aetrius couldn't even look Linde in the eyes as she spoke to her, her eyes constantly darting around the room and away from Linde. She was the first person Aetrius openly talked about it to, and it did take a large burden and an even larger amount of stress off her shoulders, but she still felt ashamed of the events that she talked about. But as she listened to Linde, she could sense the sincerity in her voice, and she was only able to return the hug ten times harder and stronger than Linde's own.

She remained completely silent for a few short minutes as Linde remained sitting on her lap and giving her a tight embrace. But eventually she slowly began to speak, but what came forth was nothing but uncontrollable sobs and muttering as she tried to talk to Linde. If she was able to understand what was being said of course, which roughly would translate to her simply thanking Linde for believing her and what she said, as well as constant apologies every now and then as tears ran down her face and she held onto Linde tightly as a storm of emotions were finally being vented, sadness, anger, frustration, hate, disappointment, almost every negative emotion she had been penting up was finally being released, and all she was able to do was sit there, with her arms around Linde and silently cry until she would finally have enough.

A few moments had slowly passed as Aetrius continued to softly cry in Linde's arms. But eventually she found herself slowly calming down as her mind started to clear and she slowly sat up and dried her tears using her hands. She chuckled and shook her head, looking up at Linde as she gave her a small smile, shaking her head again.

"L-Linde? C-can I ask you a question?" she started, feeling herself become completely calm as she spoke.

"As a doctor, do you know of any good ways of relieving stress? Any techniques that you may know?" she asked as sat up more and cracked her neck slightly as she became more comfortable.

Linde shuffled her weight on Aetri's lap to accommodate making her comfortable, and following the question she looked to the side.

"Hmm."

She shifted her hips a bit... On purpose.

"There are several you could try. I know a number of breathing exercises we could do together, or perhaps we could sit down and rest with a nice cup of tea."

She glanced to Aetri from the corner of her eye.

"But I think the best thing we can do..." She leaned in close, her lips close to Aetri's. "... Is have a sparring match." She whispered.

Aetrius silently sat there as Linde tried thinking of what to do, and felt Linde shift her weight on her, causing a slight blush to cover her face for a moment, but then easily shook it off as she caused her mind to go somewhere else. But her attention was brought back as Linde started to talk again, she nodded silently as she listened, nodding as those suggestions could indeed help. But there was something inside of her that didn't want to just sit around and do nothing. Having been inside the inn had caused her to grow anxious and feel sluggish in the matter of her not going out and doing what she would usually do. But knowing that they were here on important matters meant she couldn't go around and possibly get them in trouble if she mistook a target for a bounty, if they even had any in this town.

But she looked back up as Linde continued speaking, only being brought back from her thought as Linde was now only mere inches from her face, feeling her face go pale white as she hadn't notice Linde moving in closer to here until just then.

"I-I think that would be perfect...I've been feeling a bit...Sluggish and I even think I've been getting fat since our lack of combat..." she said with a bit of a sad tone as she looked at her stomach and gently patted it.

Linde chuckled.

"Don't worry. I'll whip you back into shape in no time."

Linde got off Aetri, offering her a hand up.

"Don't hold back, love. Got it? If you do, I'll make you pay for it... Dearly." She said playfully with a wink.

Aetrius chuckled at her comment and gently took her hand, and got to her feet. She stretched out of instinct as she stood, feeling her back and neck pop and had a look of partial relief on her face as Linde spoke. She chuckled once again and nodded.

"And the same goes for you, don't hold back on me. And if you do, I'll treat you how they treat people back in Shaharan for going easy on someone. Now, after you." she said as she motioned to the door for Linde to lead her out.

As they left Aetrius motioned at Kieran to go keep an eye on the man they were in charge of not letting him out of their sight, which she got up and walked off to go look after the man, "Why do I always have to do the annoying shit..." Kieran mumbled to herself as she went to the room, not caring what the others were up to.

Linde and Aetrius meandered outside and left the city to find a nice space in the countryside to spar in. And they found it in a small dirt clearing amongst the rolling green grasslands throughout the area.

"This looks like a good place."

Linde abandoned her jacket, gloves, and boots to the side and did some basic exercises like jumping jacks and running in place to get her blood flowing before stretching her body.

"Always get your heart going first. If you stretch cold, it does more harm than good." She advised.

Aetrius mindlessly followed Linde out of the inn and eventually found a small and private area and nodded as this would indeed be a good place to train. She watched as Linde discarded some of the unnecessary clothing and did the same, tossing her boots and cloak aside and took some deep breaths first and crouched down, placing her hands on the ground, firmly planting them into place, she found herself instinctively slowly pushing herself up and began to do upside down pushups with both hands, eventually moving to just one, as this would be one of her old ways of limbering up back in her time at the carnival.

Eventually after feeling her arms loosen and tighten up, and then finally loosen up again, she stopped and let her weight drop down and landed with ease on her two feet. After a few more stretches, mainly with the legs she found herself feeling better already, but she did want to test out how well they could spar together.

"Alright, show me what you got first, Linde." she said with a grin as she whiped some sweat away from her forehead and looked at Linde, ready to proceed with the match.

Linde was in a full front splits, chest against her knee and head against her shin with both hands wrapped around her front foot when Aetri spoke to her.

Her voice was slightly muffled as she spoke, "One moment, love."

She kept her split for ten more seconds before slowly shifting to the other side doing the same for 30 seconds in total. With that done she went to a center split, chest on the ground, bewbs squishing against the ground, and forehead to the ground for thirty seconds.

With that all done, and her body fully loosened up, Linde hopped up and bounced on the balls of her feet with her arms dangling limply at her sides while shifting her head left and right to loosen her neck.

Once finished, she landed flat and smiled at Aetrius.

"Okay then, let's begin."

Linde took a basic stance. Body bladed sideways, lead hand open, up, and held out half her body length, rear hand near her shoulder, legs about twice shoulder width apart making her a rather small target. She kept light on her feet and slowly moved in closer and closer to Aetrius.

Aetrius watched silently as Linde was still stretching by the time she was done, and waited patiently. Eventually when she was done she silently studied the way Linde moved and prepared herself for the sparring. She eyed each and every movement of her body, watching for how she could go in for an attack, or how she would have to defend herself if Linde were to go in for an attack first.

She gave her a small bow before the match began and when Linde got into a stance, she slowly got into a stance as well, one almost mirroring Linde's, but continued to slowly move away from Linde in a circle, keeping up her defenses for now, let Linde wear herself out first, if she could that is.

Linde continued to slowly and carefully shuffle her way towards Aetrius, keeping on her guard and a smile on her face the whole way.

"Are you nervous, love?"

Aetrius looked at Linde and chuckled as she continued moving, "Me? Nervous? Why would I ever be nervous?" she said with a grin.

Linde smiled more mischievously.

"Just asking." She chuckled.

Linde slid a bit closer... A bit closer... To the side a little bit... A bit closer...

And...

A bit closer...

There!

Now in range, Linde snapped her front leg into the back of Aetri's front leg calf muscle.

Aetrius watched as Linde kept slowly inching forwards, and without even a second to blink her left leg was swept beneath her, causing her to give out and and recover for a moment from the surprise attack. "Really, Linde? Who said you could fight dirty?" she said with a small grin on her face as she looked up at Linde.

Linde didn't waste any time on a verbal reply. The moment Aetrius was recovered from the shot she had slid forward to close the gap and slammed her open palm into Aetri's stomach to shove her backwards and keep her off balance.

Aetrius watched as Linde lurched forwards for another attack, this time with an open palm aiming for her stomach, knowing what she intended to do, she waited for her to get close enough....There! Aetrius grabbed her by the arm and with ease used her other hand to pull her in closer and brought down her elbow for the joint between her arm and elbow

Linde wasn't expecting to be grabbed and pulled in, but Aetri was never one to not be full of surprises. Thankfully Linde's training with her father taught her a lot about adjusting to a situation on the fly, and as Aetri pulled her forward, she made the mistake of giving up too much of her body in the process. While she was going for Linde's arm and elbow, Linde was able to bring up her leg, aiming her knee at Aetri's thigh, and her head primed to slam into her chest.

Aetrius wasn't prepared for what came next and without any time to re-correct herself, she felt a pain hit her inner thigh and fell due to the mix of unexpected pain, as well as the pain itself hitting an old area where had received an injury long ago, causing her to collapse to the ground, grabbing her leg.

Linde barely managed to stabilize herself and hop to her feet, glancing to Aetrius as she gripped her leg on the ground.

"You all right, love?" She asked calmly, despite a growing internal worry about the way Aetri grabbed the leg.

Aetrius winced at the pain that shot through her leg, and slowly sat up holding the leg trying to help lessen the pain. She looked up when she heard Linde asked if she was alright, nodding her head she answered, "Y-yeah, I'm fine. Just...Just an old injury that I forgot about until now. I'll be fine, I promise. Let's...Let's just continue." she stammered as she slowly rose to her feet, clearly not fully in the shape she was just moments before, but was still in the mindset to practice.

Linde was immediately at her side pushing her back down to a seated position.

"No." She said firmly, gently running her hands along Aetri's leg.

"Give me a minute."

She gently caressed the area where her knee struck Aetrius and, sure enough, she felt minute muscle spasms and weakness where normally Aetri's leg was quite strong. She took a deep breath and nodded slowly to herself as she looked up at Aetri.

"I'm sorry, love. I should have asked if you had any lingering injuries which could affect our exercise."

She kept one hand on Aetri's leg, and the other on her shoulder.

"Let's shift gears a little, okay? Instead of sparring, let's get you to work on some physical therapy. You let this injury go for quite some time, didn't you? We need to strengthen the muscles and balance them with your other leg's before we can think about sparring again. Otherwise, we're just risking making this worse."

Aetrius sighed and groaned when she was pushed back down, and watched as Linde touched the part of her leg that had the injury in it. She watched and clenched her teeth when she felt Linde press into her leg. She waited for Linde to say that it was fine and they could continue, but when she saw the look on her face she knew what that meant.

Sighing softly she looked at Linde when she said they'd need to stop and work on getting her leg better. "Honestly, Linde. I'll be fine." she said as she slowly started to stand up, not wanting to be done already as they had only just begun.

Linde frowned, pulling Aetri back down onto her butt and shifting over to sit on her lap.

"As your doctor, I say "no." Your leg is not in balance with the other, and the differences in muscular stability and strength are going to cause further problems if we don't deal with them. So shut up and agree to go through physical therapy." She growled softly.

She leaned in and kissed Aetrius before she could protest, pushing her down to the ground on her back before separating.

"I'll reward you later for your cooperation. I promise." She whispered with a wink.

Aetrius was only able to sit there and be silent as Linde spoke, feeling as though she was being treated like a child. She was about to protest not doing anything until Linde had kissed her, shutting her up rather quickly. She sighed and looked down, nodding as she realized it was best for her, and not to piss Linde off anymore than she already had.

" A-all right, Linde...But when all is said and done, and when I get better, you owe me a rematch. Got it?" she said with a small smile and chuckle, and gently kissed Linde on the cheek.

Linde's eyes softened and she smiled warmly, leaning down slightly to press their foreheads together.

"Don't worry. Once I am confident you're 100%, I'll give you the ass kicking I had to spare you from today."

She leaned back and licked the tip of Aetri's nose, giving her another wink.

"I promise."

Aetrius felt her face turn a light pink at how Linde acted, but couldn't help but smile. "Oh, trust me. When I'm better, I'll be the one to kick your ass. Remember, I don't fight clean. What bounty hunter does?" she gave her a chuckle and another smile.

Linde smirked.

"I certainly don't fight clean either," she whispered as she got off Aetri and helped her to her feet.

"Now let's get you a therapy routine to build that leg muscle back up, shall we?"

Aetrius took her hand and slowly rose to her feet, "You? Fight dirty? I never would have guessed." she said with a joking tone in her voice, and slowly began to hobble towards her things, "S-sure, whatever you say, Linde...." she said as she slowly picked up her things, and eventually and slowly they made their way back to the inn.
