Room 100. When Heather reached her room she realized her roommate wasn't her yet. "I might as well pick my side of the room," she muttered under her breath. She then stepped inside her room and saw that both sides where identical. Picking the left side she sat on the bed. She really wanted to go back outside so she decided to leave Rei a note that said," Hi! My name is Heather Parker and I heard we were roommates. This is going to be so much fun! Anyway I would like to inform you that I would like the left side of the room. If this is an inconvenience please tell me. Right now I'm going back to the courtyard. See you soon!"
Heather finished the note and looked it over. There were no spelling mistakes, but she wished she didn't just use simple sentences. "Oh well," she said as she exited the room. Returning once again to the main courtyard she saw that the bench she was using was open and decided to sit there again. Taking her book out of her bag she removed the bookmark. She then once again started to read.
"My magic... it's so much stronger than yours!" She cries indignantly, as loud as her frail body will allow her, sulking away from what she assumes is going to be another sarcastic remark from Lucas. The fiery ice mage gives an angry glare at the cool fire mage. remembering their battle at the end of last year. It was a tie, of course, as Lacey's devastating magic both completely wore her out and weakened Lucas to the point where neither of them could continue fighting. They were sent to the infirmary shortly after, of course, and Lucas was given the 'official' win due to not wiping himself out.
That was when the voice starting reciting dorms for the new year. Lacey vaguely picks up on her own name, Lacey Holt, and found herself paired with a girl named Mi.. something. Mikayla? Mika? She honestly couldn't catch much of it at all. She blinks and rubs her eyes blearily with the palms of her hands, each movement feeling as if it weighs a hundred tons, and underwater. Slow and sluggish.
"Hey... Lucas?" Lacey stammers pathetically. "You gotta... you carry me to... my dorm. M'kay?"
Before allowing him a chance to answer, she gives him a small gentle smile of friendship and leans her face into his ear, asking him if she could borrow some of his life energy. Just enough to give her enough energy to stay awake and greet her roommate, but not enough to impair Lucas in any way. She quickly adds a promise to return it to him the next morning.
As he looked down at her his voice softened a little as he continued. "Please try and take it easier, if I keep carrying you like this people are gonna start getting the wrong idea."
After there match last year Lacey hadn't been able to move, her magic took far too great a toll on her. For lucas it only took a little while for him to get back on his feet. From that moment onwards Lacey had been borrowing a little bit of energy here and there to keep herself moving. Part of Luacs couldn't help but think that's why she kept him around, he was her portable battery. With a smile he walked as steadily as he could.
BLOODS was made for users of seduction, not for every type of monster that you want. If you can't recruit that seductress or you have to disband BLOODS. Irunar boomed and then Jason's head grew silent. "Damn Irunar." He smiled and then pressed his eyes into his head until the sclera turned black and he was looking into Heather's eyes.
The world turned black and the ground turned to white fog. "Lets see what you do when your in a no win situation." Jason's voices echoed softly across the dream scape. "I am sorry for this request to come out in this manor, but I would like you to join the BLOODS. I must ask one thing before I can actually invite you, do you hate the humans enough to blindly slaughter the wicked of them?" He asked in his extremely seductive tone and materialized in front of her.
Those words seem to echo in her mind. She feels nauseous; the terrible urge to vomit is steadily rising. With a wan smile and a small word of thanks, she focuses on synchronizing her life energy with Lucas's. For a split second, both of them are linked in an inexplicable bond, and in that moment, a small amount of life energy transfers over the bridge between beings. As he carries her towards the dorms, Lacey smiles contently and snuggles herself up closer to him, wondering what kind of reaction it would make, how Lucas the calm would react to such a move. Of course, Lacey obviously doesn't feel any special kind of emotion towards him, other than friendship and reliance on both his entertaining arguments and his life energy always available.
"But I like being carried, Lucas!" Lacey purrs softly, silkily, but somehow still managing to make her voice sound thin and washed out. "You... and you like carrying, right?"
Mika. Mika. Lacey wonders who she is. She peers up at Lucas with a pondering face. She sees the room ahead of her, not too far ahead. Room 101.
"Do you know a Mika... Mika something? My roommate?"
Realizing that she was lost in thought she quickly gathered her thoughts. He was asking if she wanted to join the BLOODS. So he must be the leader she thought. I don't really see why he wants me as a member... oh my gosh does he read minds or something and no knows all about my past... Heather looked back at him. What should she say, she could join as it would help her blow off some steam. Deep down she knew it was a lot more complicated then that. She started to blush, oh not now she thought it happens naturally but why now.
Finally she responded, " Do I hate humans enough to blindly slaughter the wicked of them, she said repeating his question. "Well I could get a laugh over that," then in a lower voice she said,"Of course I hate them, they left me alone..." Heather then stood up. "I was alone right when I got there!" She started to talk angrily and took off her glasses. "They ignored, bullied, and destroyed my life. So yes, I do hate them." She was staring straight into his eyes. She knew her gaze would have no affect on him, but that was an insignificant detail. Right then she wanted so badly for the people that denied her any happiness just to disappear.
"I-Idiot!" Lacey moans from the ground up. "You weren't supposed to enjoy it!"
White hot anger lashes through her as, unconsciously, a sphere of dark energy forms in her left palm. She cries out and puts it out and ends up glaring fitfully at Lucas.
"You're such... such an idiot!" She cries out, feeling a sudden dizziness overcome her for a brief moment. Feeling furious and confused, she opens the door to the dorm and walks into what is an extremely bland room. She staggers towards one of the beds and plops herself down, groaning in obvious distress. However, this time the pain is from hitting her head on the ground, rather than her natural frailty. That was when, of course, she notices a thin blonde girl on the right side of the room, with an umbrella near her. Something about the girl seemed unsettling to Lacey.
"You're.. M-Mika? My roommate?" Lacey asks, hating how weak her voice sounds. On the other hand, she really was curious about the alleged unstable girl.

"Ah, so I'm the authority on living quarters this year... oopsie I forgot." He said this to himself granted he was certain several students heard him as he said this. He proceeded to the dorm office, he passed several students talking along the way before getting lost. Looking around he saw two of his students, Jason and Heather, as he'd spent time with them out of class before he knew they'd be familiar with his airheadedness.
Seeing as there was no issue, he approached them, Heather had removed her glasses to say something.
"Jason, Heather can I have a moment?" He noted Heather's appearance without her glasses and realized how much prettier she was without them. "Heather you took off your glasses? I must say the look really suits you, in a week you could have every guy in school at your beck and call."
Lucas reached towards her doorknob to follow after her but stopped short before he touched it. His eyes scanned over the knob, there were red lines inscribed along it. It was enchanted only to allow the people into the room with permission; the ones who lived there and the faculty. Lucas could force the door open but that seemed like the wrong way to go about it. He turned his head slightly and thought he heard some talking on the other side. With another sigh he reached into his pockets and pulled out a piece of paper and a small piece of charcoal he kept handy in case he needed to inscribe a rune or something.
He wrote on the note a simple message. Dinner tonight? Come by my room at 7 He couldn't help but want to spend some time with her, and he also wanted to make sure she was okay. He slipped the note under the door and gave the room a quick rap with his staff before turning and heading towards his own room on the floor above.

"Take your pick, one of the 8 BLOOD lords must have a mask. They aren't exactly flattering but, they get th-." The two were interrupted by a professor. "Put you glasses back on please, Heather?" Jason asked while trying to close his Eye of Irunar. "Oh just show up in a private conversation you old perv." Jason prodded the professor with both eyes closed.
"Heather, I am going to be blind for the next hour. Would you mind guiding me around?" Jason asked with his hands stretched out distracting the professor while the BLOODS disappeared. "I will show you around the BLOOD base later, after we find out what the teacher wants." Jason whispered to a nearby pillar while listening to people snicker at him. I wonder what became of that guy that got his hallway tagged with a humans blood? Jason rambled as he bumped into things.
_____________(Somewhere in Hunter's Paradise)______________
After days of torture a werewolf hadn't relieved himself of the location of the academy of supernatural beings. "Look, I don't want to do this the hard way. Oh wait yes I do, bring out the pup!" Victor screamed and put on his silver hand claws. The baby werewolf turned into a tiny fur ball dog squealing for its mother and crying over the sight of its father chained up. "Start cutting from the tail up." Victor grinned and tossed a claw at another hunter.
"Wait! I only went to the college for a year, but is located in the Valley of The Forge. The only way inside in by looking like you belong there." The werewolf bargained for his pups life before getting betrayed by Victor with a silver claw to the stomach. "Sir what do we do with the puppy?" A female hunter asked while scratching under its chin.
"How old do you think that pup is? A year old at least, which makes him 15 in human years? Sophomore, eh?" Mr.Fuuton devised a plan to plague the boys mind with the idea that the staff at the college murdered his family. This would take a few day's with the right deception and torture, which was right up Victor's alley. But before they could make this plan work they must report to the Hunter's leader, Lady Leanne.
"Because if that's what they do, then they'd be no better than what they're fighting against." The wizard answered the girl's unfinished question once the noise died down a bit. The dorm arrangement did not worry him that much; he remembered his room number and that was all he cared about. With a few exceptions, it made little difference to him whom his roommate was going to be; he didn't really know any of the other students, he only knew of them.
"That is not to say it can't happen." Kilian shrugged, continuing his thought; he wasn't sure whether he was talking to the girl or to himself anymore. "But I doubt it will. For someone to become a hunter they have to be too exceptional a person to easily fall into hypocrisy. But of course, this is all just idle musings." He concluded. "Sorry if I bothered you. You appeared troubled, so I thought you could use someone to talk to, but..." He trailed off, unsure whether it was even true. He felt like talking on the subject before and she caught his eye, so he did; he had no intention of consoling anyone, but perhaps it was her state that had drawn his attention in the first place.
He considered what he was doing for a few seconds before nodding goodbye and going on his way. There really was no reason for him to socialize with anyone, especially with non-humans. He wouldn't say he had any racist ideas about humans and magical creatures, but the fact still remained that the majority of the latter were generally of anti-human convictions. Their accusations towards mankind were also more hypocritical than not, but Kilian decided to stop thinking about it before his mood was spoiled further. He went to check out his room. It didn't seem as though his roommate had been there yet, and he used this opportunity to pick the bed he liked best; not that there were many differences, though.
After lazing about for some ten minutes, he decided it was time to head back out and find something to occupy himself with. His mind went back to the incident with the bloody message; he had no idea what he could do about it, but he couldn't just leave it be. A vague idea formed inside his head; before anything else, it would be nice to shed some light on this event, and who was better suited to do that than an official of the Academy? Or, in simpler terms, a teacher. Luckily, one was close by.
"Mr. Dietrich." He nodded a greeting to the older man while approaching. He was a human, which was a nice change of pace; sure, there were others around the place, but only a few, and even fewer human teachers. Kilian glanced momentarily at the two other students who were close by and smiled to himself; he didn't really need anything with them, but observing their reaction would be interesting. He made sure to speak louder than he needed to, but not so loud as to look like he was doing it on purpose. "I'm sorry if my question upsets you, but I have to ask. What is the Academy's official stance on the BLOODS?"

"Officially the Academy has no stance on the BLOODs in particular. However the BLOODs are an illegitimate club or activity which is a minor infraction, but on the other hand they are a potential threat to the very safety and secrecy of this academy, easily grounds for expulsion. However the secondary statement can't be entirely confirmed by nature of the fact that they run in the shadows. But per say they were to attack human students then it is well within my authority to execute said attackers on the spot for the maintenance of Academy and by extension inter-species peace."
He picked at the corner of the spell book at his hip, what he'd stated had been true because the primary purpose of the Academy was to promote peace among the respective student races. This resulted in the staff members having many liberties in the areas concerning criminal justice, however politics still demanded a very good reason for a blatant execution resulting in it only occurring when students lives were directly threatened. Indirect threats like the ones generated by BLOOD attacks which could potentially attract Hunters were also serious but short of a Hunter actually showing up, every other punishment in the book would be thrown at the offender.
"That's the official standing, however personally I think that the BLOODs are a bunch of punks desperately seeking attention either for a good reason or in search of an ass beating. I'm not a fan of violence, especially against my precious students but the only way to stop a mindless force is to break it before an even greater force." His voice had been ice cold at the end of that statement and to anyone who had either been to one of his classes or heard the rumors there was no doubt in their minds that if he had to he would break such an organization beyond all repair.
"Is that yours?"
Who would send me a note? Darius? He eats my pies. Or mayb- oh. Him. The idiot.
Lacey got up but then a wave of dizziness overtook her body, so she lay back down with a defeated moan. Sometimes, she hates that she chose lost magic. She just feels so terrible so much of the time, and the only advantage is that she gets some tall guy who wants to protect her. Oh, and absurdly powerful magic, of course. She already knows she's going to die young; she might be close to that point already. She glances over at Mikala and, with a faint voice, asks if she can go get the note. Her head is absolutely pounding; her body too frail to even take a bump on the head very well. Pain pierces in her head sharply, making Lacey utter a miserable gasp of surprise.
Is it worth it? Is all this power worth it? Worth dying over?
"I wonder if he thinks I was trying to be rude.." Rei spoke as she pushed herself up off the ground. "Though it is probably for the best if he does." She waited in the archway for a little while longer, just enough for the boy to disappear from view. Confirming the loss, she began walking for the female dormitory. Every now and again looking back to her small piece of paper. It was an excuse to get away from everyone else. Since it was the first day, maybe they would even be a little lenient on those who show up to class a little late as well.
It did not take any needless searching through the dormitories, being such a convenient number. Leaving the door slightly cracked, she walked further into the room to have a decent look around. The room was plain, something that was already gnawing at her. With plainness came self expression, with that she would learn more about her roommate, and that, would lead to them forming some kind of bond. A whine came from her throat as she thought about it. "Why couldn't it be so packed that nothing else could fit in here!?" There was going to be an awkward situation on the horizon, she knew it. If only half the room is decorated, it would lead to questions of why she kept it plain. "Please tell me she is a punk, please tell me she is a punk." She was honestly hoping that her roommate would be a pureblood, or one that would not pay her any special attention, neglecting her at all times.
However, with a little more looking around the room, she came across a note. Every line she read made her read it slower, hopes slowly being crushed from kindness. Dropping her arms lazily to her side she stared at the left bed. Quietly just staring at it, thinking how this may play out. This girl seemed far to kind in the note, just how long could Rei keep away from some kind of friendship or understanding? Then maybe they would even start hanging out. But come the next year, if they were not roommates again, would this girl even bother talking to her?
Rei quickly turned around, and collapsed on the bed on her side of the room, already burying her face in the pillow. "Please hate misfits, Heather Parker..."

Upon receiving his answer, Atryom bowed once more. "Thank you, Teacher." He responded, then turned away. He jogged back to where he had left Darius, only to find him gone. He sighed inwardly. I guess it was only to be expected. He's always running off by himself. Now, to find out where he went. Looking around, he saw the 'golden boy' talking intently to a girl with glasses. He didn't pay them any mind, continuing to look around. He couldn't see Darius anywhere. Maybe he went to check out his room? His fox-ears twitching nervously, he made his way inside the dorms.
He stopped dead at room 201, looking up at the bloody mural painted around the door. His fox-tails and ears hung limp as he gazed upon it, losing himself in memories.
"Go. Go, Saphina! Take Atryom and run! Go to the Grimlockes; I'll hold them here!" A deep, guttural voice sounded desperate, as if it was all he could take to sound coherent.
"Raenald!" A female's voice responded, ragged with emotion and pain. She turned to Atryom, a small child at the time, and picked him up in her arms. Then, she began to run as fast as she could.
"Kitsune's Final Gate: Seal RELEASE!" A brutal warcry resounded through the air as the screams of Hunters filled the night. As his mother ran, Atryom could see blood flying everywhere, blue flames reaching towards the sky, and most importantly, his father fighting with all of his might to help them get away. They ran and ran, hiding themselves until they finally reached Grimlocke Manor.
Frantically, Atryom's mother banged on the door, unrelenting until someone opened the door. There stood Tobias Grimlocke Sr. in all his demon glory. However, his facial expression turned to surprise as soon as he saw Saphina practically crawling at the door with her only son, mortally wounded and bleeding to death. It was a miracle she had made it there at all.
"Please, take him....the last...of our kind....my son...." Her final words were whispered, almost unable to be heard. However, to Atryom, these words fell on deaf ears. All he could do was stare at the massive amount of blood spilling out of her, even with just the short time she was at the door. It was so bright, a shining red pool of his mother's life. It surrounded him, coating him in it, until all he could see was red. As his mother's last breath flowed out of her body, he knew that she was gone, too.
Atryom's hand clenched into a fist, trembling just the slightest bit. The Hunters will arrive, and now this...are the BLOODS in league with Hunters? If so....does that mean that this mural means to openly target the people of this room? Without realizing it, he had begun to growl under his breath, his canines starting to elongate into fangs. Not again....I won't lose anyone again!
"Atryom."
Darius Grimlocke
Darius got bored of waiting. He sometimes hated sitting still. Or rather, standing. He decided to go sneak back in to the Video Game Club's clubroom. However, there were already people there, so he abandoned it and decided to go to his room. If he was lucky, he'd be the first one there and get to choose which side of the room he gets.
He was surprised to see Atryom standing there, staring at the bloody mural painted on the walls and growling under his breath. His eyes were open wide and glowing a bit, as if he wasn't really seeing the wall but something entirely different. His fists were clenched so tightly that droplets of blood were actually dropping to the floor. However, Darius wasn't truly concerned until he saw the red marks starting to appear on the the backs of his hands and on his face. A bit of blue flame wandered around Atryom's hands, not completely formed but also visible.
Darius didn't waste any time. He quickly dashed forward in front of Atryom, grabbing him by the shoulders and looking at him straight in the eyes.
"Atryom." He said, not being able to help the thick layer of concern laced in his firm voice. Atryom jumped, startled. The red markings suddenly went away, the blue flame dissipating into nothingness. "Atryom!" Darius's eyes widened in surprise as he caught Atryom in his arms. Atryom was breathing heavily, obviously tired.
"I did it again, didn't I?"
"You idiot..." Darius breathed, gently lowering Atryom onto the floor to sit against a mostly untouched part of the wall. Darius stood over him, scowling. "You can't just let yourself get carried away. You'll release your seal on accident, and then where will you be?"
It took him some time to find his dorm, partly because he forgot what number it was ("210? No... 211? Dammit!") for a bit, but also because he kept getting lost. He'd end up in a completely different hallway from where he intended. It was even starting to frustrate him. I'm freaking terrible with this kind of stuff... How the hell did I get over here? Damn! How hard is it to find my freaking dorm?
At long last (at least it seemed that way to poor, uncoordinated Kiran) he found it: 201. Yeah. That was it. Flushing with relief, his left eye opened and he took down his hood as he peeked into the room... only to have his stomach drop fifty feet. Lo and behold, it was Darius. And some other guy (who didn't look too good) with him. Well, to hell with that mission. Hood up, eye closed, hands in his pocket, Kiran turned on his heels and went right back down that hallway. Psssh the dorm could wait.Β It was time for his class anyway, wasn't it?

He'd unpacked his bag onto the table pretty quickly. Four flasks sat on side, each a different color and ready to be filled with any concoction he might need. Alchemy wasn't his strongest point but he could do some stuff in a pinch, more importantly thought he knew a few good alchemist who could make the stuff he needed. A few books, pieces of charcoal and chalk, and paper were the mundane objects he placed. Of the magical variety he stored away a small tracking pendant that he'd broken last year and needed to fix, an inscribing tool, some soul stones and other magical gems.
He turned towards the single window and stepped forward, extending his staff he carefully checked over the three wards he had put in place. The first was a repulsion ward, it would send anything aimed for the window away as long as there wasn't to much force behind it. The second ward was an alarm spell, it would tell him if anyone except him and his roommate came through the window. The final ward was the subtlest of them all, it was barely noticeable to those with magical abilities such as him, and it would leech a little bit of it's power onto anyone who broke through the window or tampered with the ward at all. It would basically place a magical X mark on the perpetrator.
He smiled as he made sure they were all correct. He had done the same too the door to make sure it was safe. Some would call him paranoid for what he was doing but he couldn't help it. The only way he'd be able to survive an attack would be if he knew it was coming. With a sigh Lucas sat down on the ground and pulled the four soul stones out of his desk. He'd bought them ages ago for some forgotten purpose but they were pretty useful since what they did was draw magical energy out of the air and store it. He placed them on equal sides of him and close his eyes. Touching each with his staff he muttered as quietly and quickly as he could. "extraho substantia quod adeo mihi. restituo vita inside mei" With that he drew the power from each of them to restore what Lacey had taken from him. They would be useless for a day or two after this but it was a quick fix for his problem.
"Old pervert, how mean Jason and here all I wanted was to have a nice chat with two of my favorite students...by the way would either of you care to help me find the Dorm Head office, and you know me I forgot where it was." He then through a sidelong look at Heather, she'd always been the type who didn't seem to acknowledge anyone in class and if the rumors about Jason's relationships were true then she'd just be his new favorite toy.
"Or perhaps it's time for Miss Parker to shine and help those in need, showing all not only does she have a new look but is now a beauty that all can approach and get along with?" Bernhard knew he was being a bit pushy but while he was the type who'd do anything to help his students he also was the type who waited to be asked or until he absolutely needed to, that not only saved pride but also provided real world experience to his charges.
