Walking down the open street of this chunk of suburbia hardly looked different than any other chunk of suburbia that I had seen in the last few days. I reach into my bag and produce a plastic water bottle, about half full. I pulled the bandana down from my mouth and took a sip from the bottle and recapped it looking at the street sign above me. The sign read "Riverside Road". I tilted my head at the sign, I didn't remember a Riverside Road being part of the planned path. I knelt down and pulled the map from my bag pouring through them to find the right map. Sure enough I had mixed two of them around and managed to get almost half of this small town off of my path.

"Fuck," I muttered rolling up the map and shoving it back into my bag.

As I stuffed the bag closed I hear a giddy burst of laughter and rummaging in the nearby house. I pulled the bandana back up over my mouth and dumped my bag into the nearby hedges sliding up to the side of the door. It hung slightly ajar and through it I could see fleeting movement. I gently pushed the door open a bit more...

"Hot chocolate would be great right now!" Angelo walked down the street. "Riverside Road, huh? What brings me here?" He walked further down the path and turned around. He sat in the road near several houses. "Hello!" He called out, expecting an echo.. Nothing. "Hello?" He repeated in more of a questioning format. "Guess I can wait here for a bit." Angelo pulled his fur hood over his head and sighed.

"I wonder where that rabbit did go,
with fur as white and soft as snow~"

He pulled out his outfits and began refolding them. He put the shirts with the shirts, the pants with the pants, and put them back in the bag. He then arranged his meals in the bag and zipped it back up. "I hope someone comes along soon."

(Sorry, My computer kept shutting down but anyway it's back now)

Alana trudged out of dark, wet alleyway. Her backpack slumped on her back and her bulky bag, made her left hand ache but she was determined to walk on. A glossy sign read 'Riverside Road'. "No where near a river though" Alana muttered, fingering each letter. She looked around, sweeping her fringe back to see. It was once a nice suburban neighborhood but when you only have a limited supply of food, water and clothes... Things aren't the same. Inside her bag a Space Heater weighed her arm down but it was the only warmth as Space Heaters are self-contained so they should still work with a power outage. There was a boy packing a bag, waiting and a boy peering at a map. "Hello?" Alana called, hoping they were going the same way as her. Before she knew it, her feet were walking forward to the boy who was packing. "Hi, I'm Alana!" The Red haired girl heard herself say.

Angelo finished repacking his bag. His shirts were in order, his pants, socks, hats, shoes, and jackets as well. His supplies were all in order and in good supply, aside from the batteries that is. But one thing wasn't in either of his bags. Instead of repacking his stuffed wolf, Angelo was hugging it. "You're so adorable." When he was done squeezing it, he placed in it his lap, still waiting to see if anyone was in the houses. He heard someone call out "Hi, I'm Alana!" and looked up smiling. "Why hello there, Alana. My name is Angelo." He held his hand out, stretching his fingers slightly apart, and smiled with his eyes closed. "Pleasure to make your aquaintance."

What he didn't say was "I'm going to size you up now." No, he kept this to himself. "She looks average -Kind of cute with those fiery locks, but average." He looked up at her before closing his eyes and noticed the corner of a bag. "I'm guessing she's a thief or something. That would explain the 'delicate' equipment." He thought to himself. After this he waited for her to return the greeting, his hand outstretched.

Alana shook the hand, "So, What brings you to Riverside?" Alana asked, brushing a loose lock of hair away from her face. The fiery-haired girl noticed Angelo look at her bag. "Oh! That's my space-heater, My dad gave everyone in my family one before I got lost," She told him, "Your welcome to share it if you want?" Alana smiled. He was sort of cute with his vivid green eyes and golden hair. Yeah, Pretty cute! Alana shrugged the backpack of her shoulders and zipped it open and revealed a shiny Space-Heater. She showed it to the cute golden haired boy.

"What brings me to Riverside?" Angelo repeated. "I was following a snow white rabbit." He grinned his playful grin and watched as she unzipped her bag. Out came the Space-Heater. "You've brought portable heat? Perfect for anemics everywhere.. I just brought my clothes, my food, and my wolf." He pulled from his lap the stuffed animal and shared his treasure as she had shared hers. "What brings you to Riverside?" He retorted curiously.

"I used to live here with my family but they got killed before we set off for my grandmother's and now I'm looking for my little sister, Inona, You haven't seen her have you?" Alana replied, looking around worriedly for her sister. Alana was worried and frantic but she didn't show it because she knew if she was worried and frantic she'll only break down in tears and scare herself and she didn't want to cry, Not now.

"I haven't seen anyone in weeks. I've been traveling alone. But, I can help you look, if you want. It'd be my pleasure." Angelo smiled admiring this moment. He was generally nice, he meant it too, but his mind was racing.

You cant show kindness. She'll only abandon you.They always abandon you. No one cares. See for yourself. Carve out the crimson truth.

"I'm not going to hurt who I don't have to," he thought to himself. "She's a nice person."

Angelo blinked off his daze and awaited Alana's response, trying ever harder to hide his doctor's bag. It was almost as if he was hiding it from himself.

"Thanks! She ran off just after I told her that our parents were... D-D-dead" Alana gulped, forcing her tears back. "We can walk on wards if you like?" Alana suggested, smiling despite her sadness.

"I'll follow you." Angelo replied, placing his stuffed wolf back in his bag. He zipped up his bag threw it, with his doctor's bag, over his shoulder and extended his hand to help Alana up. "My parent's passed on too," he commented. "I know what it's like. Knowing children, she probably went to one of her favorite childhood spots." He smiled widely, closing his eyes. "Don't worry. We'll find your sister."
