Tsukamura

║Located on the southeastern coast of Honshu, Tsukamura is a fishing village built around the shores of a narrow estuary emptying itself into the Pacific Ocean. The population does not exceed a thousand and is comprised of fishermen and a few families of farmers. No craftsmen, artisans or more skilled professionals have settled in the village permanently, but they do visit from neighboring villages when requested. The level of poverty isn't very high even if few can be considered wealthy, and war has yet to reach this remote corner of the island.

Beyond the scattered fields on the edge of Tuskamura is a dense forest split open by a wide river linking the village to the heart of the island. A single shrine was built deep in the woods northwest of the village. The sickly priest is well-liked and provides minimal education to the village's children should they show interest. For the most part, however, the village remain illiterate except for a few handful of well-off individuals with ties outside of the village.

In terms of defenses, it has a local militia. The nearby lord has promised to offer protection and dispatch troops to aid Tsukamura should the need arise, but the price of his protection has been increasing over the years, and he is more preoccupied with the happenings at the heart of Japan rather than occasional wild animal attacks in the boonies.
