Baekoth now is home to many who bow to The Messiah Queen and her god Aule, her rule now extends through all of Dorelith, a country once belonging to the many kingdoms of humans, kings reduced to noblemen, wardens of land that was once wholly theirs. Her rule grows, expanding every year. She entrances the masses with her miracles of raising the dead and healing the sick, taking feelings of hunger or thirst away and showing them the might of Aule the merciful. She seeks to spread his love and mercy to all of Baekoth, and to smite those who would stand against him. She prepares the world for his arrival. The neighbors of Dorelith, the Orcs to the Freelands, the Elves to the great forest, and Taomar, a Daemon Empire in its budding, are all tense with anticipation at whether the conquering will continue to their lands. The humans refusing the rule of The Messiah Queen for one reason or another have formed a thus far ineffectual rebellion; they are a nuisance to the Queenβs forces at best, but a persistent one.
Soon they may have help, to the south there begins a rebellion of slaves who have thrown off their shackles, led by the once thought lost Princess of Citha, the Kingdom that The Messiah Queen first laid claim to and began her conquest with. The slaves move in secrecy, attacking slavers on their way to the great Gladiator arena in Taomar, leaving none alive to confirm their existence. They have the element of surprise, for now.
And still yet in other parts of Baekoth plots thicken and destiny uncoils. Taomar is busy building itself and the Elves are as silent in their forests as ever. The wind whispers of some Witch King seeking vengeance. The Freelands thunder with the heavy footsteps of the Orcs gathering. The waters ripple with the fretful splash of mermaids swimming. Even the Halflings in their protected valley grow curiously nervous. War looms over Baekoth, it is heavy in the air, and perhaps none will escape it.

[url]FAQ[/url]
This whole roleplay is really more like a first chapter to a series of roleplays, called The Chronicles of Baekoth, hopefully we can get through this chapter and on to the next, maybe even after a few chapters we can go to next generations. So this rp is definitely the sort that is more long term than short term, and it will be what we put into it. So far much effort has been put into this rp and I hope that the players will be willing to put forth effort as well. This first chapter will consist of the large overlaying plot of rebellion against the Messiah Queen, other things in other parts of Baekoth can be going on as well, feel free to suggest things or have your own thing going on, but the rebellion will be the main plot that effects every character in one way or another. I have provided a main overlaying plot but we definitely want more suggestions and things going on, communication and collaboration is what will make this rp truly great, it's what will make it grow. So again please do not be shy, voice your ideas so we may perhaps use them in the future.
I should make it clear when I say that this roleplay does require a certain level of writing to keep up with the players going to be accepted, it's no fun if someone writes an elaborate response and gets zilch in return. I will strive for fairness and fun in terms of overseeing this rp, and keep things running and in line. This rp will always run, even if I should be absent I will select a co-admin be here to keep it going. The only way this rp fails is if everyone somehow drops off the face of the earth to the nether realms where there is no wifi.
Violence and more 'R' rated elements will be present in the roleplay, it is a roleplay intended for mature audiences and will deal with gritty realism and quite possibly character death. This is a fantasy rp yes, however we will not have elements in the rp that make no sense and are not backed up reasonably. Furthermore, although there is some sexism in some of the races of Baekoth there is no such thing as homophobia. There is no reason at all for your character to be homophobic, no bible religions existent that state that sort of thing is unnatural. Keep things in cultural perspective for your character, and although we have written some of it for you culture-wise there is much we did not touch on. If something is not stated, feel free to make it up yourself! Just make sure it keeps with the flow of the race and culture. If you go too far off track I can reign you in. Above all, please enjoy, be here to enjoy.
There is a lot of information to sift through, I know! But please be sure to read it all before choosing your a role or making a role of your own. These roles I have listed here are just basic ones that I have thought up to steer you in some sort of creative direction, you are by no means limited to them. There are a few roles here that are gender specific or require a certain set of skills that your character must have, but really other than that the direction you take the role is all up to you, some of these roles can even be doubled. I encourage you to message me with your character ideas or talk about them in the ooc, the people already involved and I would be happy to discuss your ideas with you. There are a few plots already in motion but Baekoth is a big place, there's room for growth. For some of the more politically important roles (ie: The Queen's Adviser) it will not be first come first serve, but rather who is better suited for it. Other than that we thankfully do not have to worry too much about how many there are of each role, I would prefer our populace to be a bit diverse however, and encourage people to pick something a little less explored if you see a lot of a certain kind of role.

Things like moral alignments can be better explained in the FAQ. For certain races I will allow an illustration, such as the Daemon, but for everyone else I will require that you make a face claim suited for the rp. I have compiled a helpful list to get you started if you don't know where to look for face claims. There are even many Daemon face claims available if you know where to look, I urge you to ask an admin or someone from the ooc for assistance in this endeavor if you need it. I highly prefer that you have a realistic image for your character. You are not limited to actors in this either, I fully accept face claims from deviantart, there are many cosplayers there who are quite talented.
You are welcome to more than one character if you can handle it, to start out I may only allow those who have characters that won't be doing much at times to have a second character, but once I get to know you and your writing capability I will allow it.
[Perfect] - [Excellent] - [Good] - [Above Average] - [Average] - [Below Average] - [Poor] - [Very Poor]
The above rating system will be used for your characters physical effectiveness in combat and other skills, please keep in mind that if your character is perfect or excellent at something then they must be truly exceptional. Perfect and excellent are not levels one often achieves, especially when it comes to combat. Racial abilities or artifacts may help you get there however. I will be watching characters carefully on this matter and make sure no one has a special ability that isn't backed up. Talent will only get you so far, hard work is what makes perfect and excellent. Good is a level regular people would be impressed by, most Knights fall into the combat level of Good. Above average means you have either had training or have talent. Average is a regular person relatively speaking within their race. Very poor means you have never tried it or you are especially hopeless at it.

But don't hold back waiting on me. I hate holding up roleplays.
Re: [OOC] Blurry Line
Re: [OOC] Blurry Line
As well I would love to continue as well because out of all the roleplays I have done on rpg this is probably my second or third favorite. Nothing will ever beat a realistic zombie roleplay though so to be honest discounting that is probably my favorite.
By the way I still have minimal internet access and can provide a post about once a week or maybe twice a month. Its sort of up in the air for the next month or two on how my internet is but after that I should achieve a regular routine.
tl;dr
Dont let this die. I will be able to post eventually.

If any of you want to drop I fully understand. However if by chance any of you are willing to simply put this thing on hold and wait, It'd be much appreciated.
Re: [OOC] Blurry Line
Anyways I have to leave for a deployment I am supposed to be getting back around May/June but who knows. Anyways I expect that I will still be able to popin once in a while. I am doubtful that I will be active enough to maintain a roleplay but I should be able to chat with people and what not.
Anyways I think I have most of you added on skype. But if I dont feel free to add me on skype, or you can send me a PM with an email address and I can shoot you an email once in a while.

on another note, hello trick, nice to see you back. How is it in Arizona, flippin hot over there from what I hear.
I'm tired of putting the time skip off quite frankly, and Unicorn hasn't been on in a while, so I will take over her character after I get the time to write the time skip if she hasn't logged on to the site by then. I hope there isn't any rioting on your ends people?
