"-Explore? Sure." Ghostling said, flying away. He spotted four ghosts outside Garnet's yard, each entering the area from different entrances. He saw a shield insignia on their shoulders, but he couldn't remember what it meant. "Alex was right," he told himself, "But what do they want?"
One of the four scouts entered the mansion earlier than the others and spotted the group. He looked carefully at Alex, but he sensed a presence of another one...another Phantom! He backed away into the shadows and went into a suit of armor that now served as furniture. He was sure that the metallic shell would mask his presence.
Back to the group...
"What do you mean by 'he was' ?" Alex asked Garnet.

"He's gone, silly." Garnet smiled.

Suddenly, Ghostling flew in and whispered to Alex and Joe, "Guys, we've got company."
"Like I haven't noticed." Alex replied.
"Bro, it's him." Ghostling said.
"Oh noes." Alex said, "How many scouts are here?"
"Four." Ghostling replied.
"God protect us." Alex replied.
The three other ghosts took control of similar items: one taking a vase. The other took a plant. And the last took another armor. The first one, who was very bored, decided to strike.
"We have found him." one of the ghosts told the Revenant via telepathy.
"Excellent. Now, I want you to...test his skill. And, make sure his new allies butt in." the Revenant replied.
The four ghosts laughed maniacally and transformed their possessed items. The armor gained a horn at its helmet, wings at its back, and its sword now generates Phantom-like energies. The plant gained the same ability, only channeling it with thorns and leaves, aside from it gaining long, powerful vines and its flower turning into some sort of head with fangs. The other armor gained the same abilities as the first one. The vase, however, remained as it was, a plain ol' vase.
"Brace yourselves!" Alex said, pulling out his guns and shooting at the opponent.
"Weakling." said one of the ghosts in armor, hitting Alex with its sword. One hit with a Dark Phantom Blade would make its victim see its most grievous experience. Alex found himself seeing the time his brother was killed. The time when he was powerless. All he could do was...

"DO NOT RUIN MY GARDEN." She growled, summoning a sword to her right hand as she dashed forward, slicing at the opposing ghosts.
Sapphire watched from the windows. Thinking it was some game her kid sister invented, she moved back into the tea-room.

The Revenant was not pleased. Seeing that his nemesis is useless, he commanded his warriors to finish him.

"You... F**cked up my garden..." She laughed, pure insanity trailing her tone. She swung wildly, her teeth filed to points.

As if its wielder was killed, the armor fell on its knees and collapsed. Meanwhile, Alex and Ghostling were cornering the possessed vase.
"Argh!!!!!!" it said, "Why have I chosen such a useless vessel of a body?!"
Alex lifted the vase and sealed it with a rock. "Shut the f****** hell up."
The last armor ghost charged at Alex, Joe, and Ghostling, while the plant ghost cornered Garnet.
"What is wrong, little girly?" the ghost-plant snarled with confidence, "Are you afraid of a plant like me?! Hehehehehehehehehehe!!!"
The plant swung a large vine at Garnet...but wait! Alex swooped in and took the hit. (Insert slow-mo in that part). Alex was hit in his abdominal area and he hit a bird bath.
"Ahhh..." the plant ghost said, "Master was right all along, you are such a wanna-be knight-in-shining-armor, Alexander Ryder. Well, Alex, I have smaller fish to fry."
Alex stood up, he could hardly walk. He was still exhausted by the battle hours before, he felt useless to his friends and to his brother. That was, of course, until Ghostling possessed him (again).
"Ore...sanjou!" Ghostling said when he gained control of his brother's body, "I'll borrow you for a while, bro."
"Go get 'em." Alex said, watching Ghostling charge at the ghosts. The armor ghost charged at him, while the plant ghost swung another vine at Garnet.

"How.... Dare....You." With one swing, she cut the plant in half her eyes cold. She watched as it fell to the ground and became no more then ash.

With that, the armor and the plant collapsed, their controllers withered away. Ghostling left Alex's body.
"That sounds bad." Ghostling said, "Do you think he's back?"
"I am afraid so, brother." Alex said, he turns to the others and brings out a large ring filled with keys, "Before I retired as a Phantom, I served as the ghost gods' key-master. They gave me these keys, telling me they'll be useful. I hope so."
He focused his energies on a single key and a fairly large mini-bus appeared.
"Get in," Alex commanded, Ghostling was already behind the steering wheel, "we're going to my place. I have something to explain to you guys."

Joe staired at Saphire. "Did you not just see that?"

"I don't think Joe and Garnet would approve of that." Alex told his brother.
"So what?" Ghostling replied, "The last thing we need now is a person who has no idea what the freaking hell is going on. We don't have time to explain. So you guys get your butts in the bus!!!"

Meanwhile...
"Fascinating, servant," said the Revenant. He was monitoring the recent events and was amazed that Alex has made new "friends". "fascinating indeed. Well, a couple of strikes is never a battle, same with a couple of battles is never a war, yesssss. Everyone, stay alert. I believe our old friend is coming to our party. (laughs maniacally)"
