Name: Azriel
Nickname: N/A
Gender: Male
Age: He appears to be in his late twenties, but he is well into his thousands as he was one of the original angels to come to the mortal world.
Height: 6'3
Weight: 193 lbs.
Sexual Orientation: Straight
Likes:
- Cats...
- The Destroyer. Although he has never met the person in question, the Destroyer represents the last and best chance for Azriels goal.
- Those rare times when he can recall his daughters face.
- Fire. It is apart of who he is, and it is the means to an end.
Dislikes:
- Other Angels who have forgotten their home.
- His own weakness. When compared to his once glorious self, his current self is a mockery.
- Dogs. He could never explain it, but he has never liked those slobbering vermin.
- Demonic beings. It is their fault! If it weren't for those ugly creatures locked within their souls, he would not be forced to be in this wretched mortal world.
Group: Neither at the moment.
Partner: N/A
Race: Angel
Magic:
1. Divine Light: A simple healing spell, but it can only be used on the more light-aligned races (Not demonic or vampire.)
2. Flame of Azriel: Azriels sword erupts in flames, while the spell is active it continually drains away at his power meaning he can only use it for short periods at a time. When he slashes, great waves of fire leap from the blade, sadly, due to Angelic nature, the fire does nothing to other Angels or Elves, but it is deadly to all other races.
3. Wrath: Azriel can fling fireballs and other fire based spells from his hand. It is the most common spell he uses as it is not nearly as power draining as his other spells.
4. Wrath and Ruin (Can only be used in Archangel Form): A large pillar of fire descends from the sky to strike the ground burning everything under it to cinders. This spell has two major drawbacks: It requires a vast amount of energy and when coupled with the already high drain from the Archangel form it causes Azriel to pass into unconscious after usage, secondly, it is a rather large spell that, normally, people can see coming, so as long as there is nothing to stop them, most opponents can move out of the way. This spell is generally meant to be used against a large number of enemy that do not have the mobility to dodge.
5. Imbue power: Azriel can grant another being large amounts of his own power through touch.
6. Archangel: A spell that allows Azriel to reattain his true Angelic body. His strength, magical power, speed, and endurance all dramatically increase but at a heavy price. Every time he uses it he loses another piece of his memory of before he went down to the mortal world. He can only maintain this form for a few minutes before becoming exhausted and completely drained.
Weakness(es)
- Azriel is almost useless against Elves and other Angels.
- Azriel is terrified of forgetting who he is, so is hesitant to give his all in any fight.
- All Archangels have command words that forces them to their knees and drains their power, Azriel's is "Proventus tui Rabies" Although, it is highly unlikely for any to know that command as the other angels remember nothing, and the command words were not widely known as it were.
- The Night.
Equipment - Besides his deep blood red clothing, Azriel carries only a long sword with Angelic ruins covering the blade.
Picture:
Personal Description: Azriel has long fiery read hair that falls in waves over his shoulder, his skin is light and fair unmarked by scars, imperfections, or unwanted hairs. His eyes are a deep blood red and gazing at them is like gazing into the heart of a ruby. His body is long and thing almost frail looking. His chin is sharp and strong framed by high cheek bones. Azriels nose is thin and sharp with a slight bend at the very tip. His eyebrows are thin and arch in the middle. He wears loose red clothing that makes him rather easy to pick out in a crowd. Unlike most angels, Azriel has four gray wings, and when archangel form, his wings increase to six.
Personality: Azriel is a desperate angel barely hidden under his calm facade. He needs the Destroyer. He needs her as much as he needs to breath, and is willing to do whatever it takes to enlist her aid. Azriel does not care how many people he has to step on, who he has to trick, who he has to lie to, who he has to kill... as long as he gets another step closer to his daughter he is willing to do anything. Azriel still considers himself to be an Archangel... and years of displaced anger has lead to him looking down on all the other races. They are mere children playing in mud compared to himself which makes him extremely egotistical.
History:
Azriel was once an Archangel, one of the seven chosen ones. Azriel had always served loyally as the Archangel of Destruction, the bearer of the Flaming Sword. His will was the will of the gods, his wrath was their wrath, but it was merely his duty... like many older angels, Azriel had a small family as Angels breed slowly compared to other races. His wife and love was Isda an angel from a lower class, but she was ravishing even when compared to other angels what did class matter in the face of love?.. sadly, when Azriel closes his eyes, he can no longer see her face, and his daughter Astrid, who made his chest fill with pride, she was as strong as he, and would grow to be as beautiful as her mother. She, who even though young, was being groomed to be the 8th Archangel. Azriel felt deep down in his heart that Astrid would shake the heaven themselves someday, but duty tends to get in the way as the mortals were losing and the angels.. for the first time in thousands of years were called to war.
As he held his daughter before the Golden Gates, he made one promise, "I will return." and with that, Azriel and Isda left for the mortal realm.
The war was... quick and brutal. The sudden appearance of the angels caught the demons off-guard and gave hope to the races already in the fight... but it was not with casualties. Isda being one of those... (I do not like explaining big moments in a characters history in bios. I prefer talking about it IC.) As an Archangel he was one of the commanders of the war leading his brothers and sisters to arms and victory, but Azriel was one of the first to notice his power diminishing. The other angels just brushed off his concern as battle fatigue, but every day it was harder to draw out his power, everyday he went to sleep just a little bit more exhausted... And once the war was over the truth was finally revealed. The time spent on the mortal plane had sapped away their own divinity turning them into little more then mortals a mockery of their former selves and worst yet; Many of the angels could not ever remember their past... The angels were stuck on this wretched mortal world and were losing their memory... Azriel was stuck on this planet away from the only person he had left: Astrid... and someday, he would forget her.
Perhaps it is due to his once status of Archangel that his memory has been slipping away at a much slower pace then that of the other angels. Unlike them, Azriel could still remember his name, the place of which he once called home, the war, everything save for a few minor details: The name of his parents, his wife's face... his daughters voice. Slowly those few precious memories were slipping away, but Azriel will not allow it. It disgust him how easily the other angels shrug off their past put it behind them fully embracing the newer world. Did they not care that they most likely had family and friends still waiting for them? No... If they did not remember they did not care. Azriel had spent every day since the war ended looking for a way back home. Back to his daughter, but every attempt ended in failure then he heard of the rumors. The Destroyer had been spotted.
The 'Higher Powers' once sent them down to earth to stop its destruction... so why wait just a few short human lifetimes before sending the Destroyer.. unless they did not send the Destroyer thus a plan began to form. If he could harness the Destroyers power, he could wage a war against the gods themselves. Force them to their knees and force them to give back his Astrid... but for that he needs the Destroyer, and anyone who gets in his way is disposable.
