Brighmeadow of US 1920's

Gideon answered the door. "Oh! Katheryn! Nice to see you!" He let her in before closing the door, looking at the window after noticing so not to stare where he should not, considering how she was dressed. "You look lovely, today! Anyway, I have good news and bad news. The good news is, I should be able to be out there tomorrow. The bad news, the Don wants me to smuggle thirty crates of something. What, the person he sent would not tell me, but I have a fairly good idea what it is. I couldn't really say no without ending up dead."

When katheryn got into the house, she stood a few feet away from where Gideon was standing. "Really? Well when you do go on this trip, just be careful if you do die then I'll have no one that I can trust,except the doctor." Katheryn said looking straight at him. She just hopes he doesn't die while he is on this dangerous trip, she woundered why would The Don give someone this dangerous of a quest they must complete. She just thinks that's the wrong thing to do, even when he's hurt like that. She's also glad he's recovering alright, and not, not getting better. She just wants him to be alive when he gets back from that trip. Katheryn looked down, she was upset when he has told her that...she wanted to break the silence. "I got a job at he coffee house..." She said to break the silence in the house after he told her that horrible trip he must take and complete, where he could possibly die going on.

"Cool..." Gideon just did not feel great about the whole situation. Plus, this woman did not know who else to trust. "Well, At least you'll be where nobody will want trouble. Trouble finds me wherever I go." He looked at his belts with the pistols holstered. "There is a reason besides the practical why I have those pistols." He looked in Katheryn's direction, eyes showing sadness. "There was this girl I came close to dating. She went to church a lot. I personally didn’t, nor did I believe in God, but I’d sometimes help her with stuff. When a guy who quit the mafia decided to take shelter at that place, though..." He walked on over and pointed to the pistol on the left. "The guy who first held this gun came for him. She defended the fugitive while quoting from the Bible something about what people do for others they do for God. That ticked the gangster off more than anything, so he shot her. There was nothing I could have done.” Gideon pointed to the other pistol. “This gun I bought after the incident and used to get my revenge. That guy who shot her was dead as soon as I pulled the trigger on him.”

"I'm so sorry for your lose." She said turning around to looking at the guns he was talking about. She looked at him, she could tell, he knew she was upset with this trip he must take, she didn't want to keep this visite a sad one so she decided to brighten the moment. "Uh, one good thing you'll get out of the mission is the money right?" She asked him. She'd think you'd get good money doing this kind of mission for The Don. She looked a this belt, she looked at the bullets it was interesting to know why he had them. "Why is The Don making you do this anyway?"

"Yeah..." Gideon looked in Katheryn's direction. His answer to the question to her question involving the Don was, "I'm a smuggler, and I did not fail at what I do once. My skills are well known in Brighmeadow."

"Oh, alright...I guess I'll let you rest up for your trip. Good luck." She said and smiled at him on her way out of the door. When she got out of the house she closed the door and sighed. She wasn't thrilled that Gideon is going on this trip. She walked to the side-walk, she headed right though she shouldn't, stay at home till she hears something about Gideon, so when she gets to her house she stays outside, even though it wasn't a really nice day outside, that particular day. Though since she's been there only one day it was nice.

Gideon walked back to his couch and lay on it, watching Billy nip on catnip. The scene made him laugh. "Well, Billy, all we can do is ride it out and see what happens." He looked at his guns, a reminder of why he smuggles for people who are worse off than him. "And that we will."

Blake was emersed in her work, close to the big break she needed. She smiles and shuts her book. She takes her gun and heads out to do some street work. This was her favorite part about being a detective. One of her favorite parts anyway. She shoves her gun in her boot and grabs her hat, placing it on her head before leaving the office.
